This place is awesome! I've gotten a brazilian and eyebrow threading from here, and am about to go back for both of those services + upper lip wax. The owner is super personable and made me feel so comfortable. I had gotten my first brazilian at H2O salon for twice the price and it took three times as long! I went in to Perfect Arch and the brazilian literally took 5 minutes. I was so surprised. I told the owner this and her response was, "What were they doing that it took that long?!" She clearly knows what she's doing and isn't trying to waste your time or money. The only downside to this place, and I don't consider it a downside as you can tell by my rating, is that the place isn't posh looking like some higher end salons - no frills, but you'll get the best waxing/threading in town. I drive by Perfect Arch every day on my way to work and I saw the sign advertising $6 for eyebrow threading. I finally went this weekend after reading the other positive reviews on Yelp and I was not disappointed. The woman who did my eyebrows was nice and polite and she did a great job. It was super quick and only $6! They look great! The only reason I'm not giving the salon five stars is because it has a kind of clinical feel to it and is not very spa-y. Great deal for great service. The place isn't the easiest on the eyes, but I am assuming with time (looks like it opened less than a year ago) they'll spruce it up. The woman who threaded my brows was very friendly and sociable. It didn't hurt much at all and she was very quick! My eyebrows look great. She gave me a punch card to get a free service after 5 visits, so I will definitely be coming back! Eyebrows - yes. Waxing -NEVER again. I needed a face wax. She first put wax all over my right cheek, covered it with cloth, and said "okay this is going to hurt." Well, of course it is since you don't know the first thing about waxing. She's the worst for waxing - made me look like someone had punched me in the face and in fact, the blood vessels under my eye skin tore so it looked like I had two black eyes. When my hair grew back, it was rough and thicker. I went to a different salon to get rid of it again and the lady asked me if I had waxed on my own. I love Perfect Arch! Sometimes I have a difficult time with eyebrow threading salons because they don't listen when I tell them to keep my eyebrows thick, but she was receptive and made my eyebrows great! It's hard to get to if you don't have a car (especially if you're a college student at UIUC) but it's worth the journey. She provides a punch card and if you go a specific amount of times, you get the next service free. I'm glad I found this place! read more

In a small town like Champaign where there are not many options for threading, Perfect Arch is a SAVIOR. D owns the place and does all the threading. She is very good, very fast and maybe even better then some of the women I went to in Los Angeles. It is an in and out no frills experience. The prices are unbeatable, her hours are great and she is so fast that there is hardly ever a wait. I used to go to the mall because I thought that was my only option when I first moved here and they charge twice as much for inconsistent aestheticians who may or may not know what they're doing. Best brazilian experience I've ever had! I've been getting waxed for years, and I usually expect it to take at least a half hour, and they waxing tech usually misses at least a spot...she got to work and did a perfect job in 10 minutes flat. Quick, very thorough, and very professional. If you come back within a month, there's even a 10 dollar discount for maintenance. I came to this place after reading all of the great reviews online. I got my first Brazilian at Mario Tricoci and did not walk in with the expectations that this place would be the same (I had read that the decor was slightly drab, unwelcoming, etc.) However, this woman was very unprofessional. She told me to take off my bottom half and she just stood there and looked at me, making me feel uncomfortable. She could've walked out and came back in. Then she proceeded to tell me that my hair grows so fast, making me feel like Chewbacca. She told me I was going to bruise because it was that long. She could've cut it. While the best part is that it only took 10 minutes, it wasn't as cheap as I thought. I paid $75 total at Mario. The entire time I was getting waxed she was talking about how expensive that was. Online the Brazilian was $45. She asked me if I wanted a "true" Brazilian which then added $10. I tipped $10, which put me at $65. I do not think that that is cheap; especially since it was only $10 less than Mario. The main reason why I'm giving this review is because she left in the middle of waxing me to answer the phone. Phones have a lot of bacteria. Not only that but she OPENED THE DOOR WHILE I WAS LAYING THERE UNDERWEAR-LESS. No one was there, but I find this extremely unprofessional. I gave this 2 stars simply because it only took 10 minutes (which was awesome). But as she was waxing me she was telling me about people who came in with fungus. I've gone to this chick for two years on and off and she has been fine, acceptable for the C-U area. I rarely write bad reviews but I went there a few weeks ago for an eyebrow wax and she totally destroyed my brows I have been carefully growing out for 6 months. She was talking on her phone during the two appointments before me, and then was on the phone the entire time she was threading my eyebrows. It was incredibly more painful than usual (I know what it's like I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for 10 years) and when she finished she told me to hold on because one eyebrow was thinner than the other. I looked it the mirror and half my eyebrows were gone, and I just told her to stop. She tried to allege she was "just doing a clean up" and gave me an extra stamp on my frequent buyer card (which is my second card that is almost filled even though she asked me if it was my first time there! ) and she was just trying to cover for the fact that she wasn't paying attention. My eyebrows are currently mismatched because of her and I'm hoping I can grow them out before my wedding in October. Do yourself a favor and save up for a real esthetician that cares about eyebrows because when you go to a legit person you look much better, you have to go much else often, and in the end you save money. Dee is the BOMB. I have visited and lived in cities around the country (ATX, NOLA, PGH, etc), but was more impressed with her waxing artistry and skill than anyone else I have ever been to. I am accustomed to frequenting establishments that only use hard wax (i.e. what I came to know and love with European Wax Center). However, the honey based wax Dee uses (with strips) was both faster and less painful. As a person with overly sensitive skin, I loved her entire technique and the more gentle products she used to wax and moisturize. My skin felt and looked radiant when she was done. And when I say she was FAST, I mean she more than likely should be in the Guinness Book of World Records. She completed full leg, full brazilian, stomach, underarms and lip in about thirty minutes, and was VERY thorough. Dee also has such a positive energy and was easy to chat with; a factor that is great if you are an individual who doesn't tolerate pain well. In addition to all of this, the price was just right and more than affordable. I was just visiting Champaign when I found her, but am determined to find a way to become a regular. This is literally the best place I've ever been to that threads eyebrows. It's just so awesome in every way. The salon is far off campus, so if you're like me who went by bus, expect a long and mildly annoying journey (there aren't marked bus stops so the bus ends up passing by you unless you're waving and jumping - they're not frequent either). It's so worth it though to make the trip here for threading. The lady is super nice and welcomed me when I came in. She then asked me what I wanted to do with my brows and listened as I explained how I wanted them to look. I've had bad experiences where another business didn't really listen to me, then began painfully threading them, so my eyebrows were arched to the point that I looked mildly upset, and I told her how I wanted them to be gently curved, but would give her the artistic liberty because I heard she was a pro. Then I closed my eyes, felt some quick strokes here and there on my eyebrows, and within minutes, she asked me if I liked how I looked. Words cannot explain the magic she pulled to thread so quickly and painlessly while making my eyebrows look like perfect arches. I was impressed. It literally took me forever to get here and within 10 minutes, she had me in and out looking fantastic. I like to think that my eyebrows look nice by themselves or when I maintain them, but I didn't know anything until I came here. She's super clean too and wiped my brows with alcohol and brushed away stray hairs. All this costs $6 and then she gave me a punch card where after five visits, your sixth is free. I absolutely adore this place. So if I could, I'd give Perfect Arch 100 stars. Clean, quick, friendly, and overall amazing everything! I used to like this place, I've been here probably a dozen times and it's getting worse and worse. Most recently i grew my brows out for several months to have them reshaped and she botched them. She always sits you down and starts threading without any interest in what you want and if you do manage to get a word in and request something special she will disregard and do whatever she wants to them anyway. I cannot say enough great things about this place! For starters, it's incredibly affordable and one of the cheapest places I've found in a long time. Cheap does not mean poor quality, though; the owner does an amazing job with my eyebrows and listens to what you want. She usually only takes walk-ins for threading/waxing, which made me nervous at first, but even if she's super busy, she works quickly and can have you in and out in no time. I went to Perfect Arch for the first time this week and had a very mixed experience. I had my eyebrows threaded and got a French bikini wax. Eyebrow threading - This part of my visit was great! She is super quick, so the threading only took like 2 minutes. It hurts, but not terribly (maybe a little less than waxing), but the pain isn't a big deal since it is so quick. Also, it was cheap! $6 is a great price for threading! I will definitely go back to her for this. Bikini wax - Unfortunately, my bikini wax was a different story. The wax was very painful, and this was not my first time, so I knew the expect pain, but this was the worst it's ever been. Also, she was very quick with the waxing, but very rough as a result. I started bruising immediately, which has never happened to me before. I honestly didn't know you could bruise from waxing. She told me that the bruising would be gone by the next day, but it only got worse. I now have a blotchy purple bikini line, and it is still sore and bruised two days later. I will NOT be returning to her for a wax. read more
