This was THE worst "eyebrow salon" I've ever been to. *The man behind the counter and the woman working argued that I should get threaded, instead of waxed. When I asked if I could just get my eyebrows waxed, they said yes... as if it wouldn't be a problem. * Despite my decline of thread work, the woman still attempted to thread me after a rough and painful wax job. When I told her that I 100% did not want threading, and that I preferred tweezing, she told me that she (I swear I'm not lying about this) DID NOT KNOW HOW to use tweezers. Tweezers. The #1 eyebrow instrument. *The woman then attempted to tweeze my eyebrows-- pulling the hairs in the opposite direction in which they hair grew and twisting with each pull. When I told her that all she had to do was pull in the direction that the hair did grow, she offered me the tweezers and told me I could do it myself. *The tweezers were old, blunt, and kept in a tin with other tools-- all with no sanitary liquids. *When I told them that I was just going to leave, because I did not trust them to work on my eyebrows any more, they screamed that I was not welcome back. Okay so this salon has 2 locations this one on yelp and a second one on 78th street and 5th ave in bayridge. That's the location I've been going to for almost a year now and I have never left this place disappointed. The girl there (her name is Lina) is amazing! My eyebrows are uneven because I have 8 stitches on my left brow. But somehow she always makes them thick and even. No other place was able to do this. I love this place and have been going for about 2-3 years now for my eyebrow threading needs. I can last for 2 weeks without a single hair coming back, and up to 3 weeks with my brows still looking clean, neat and shaped correctly. I used to go all the way to Staten Island to get my eyebrows threaded and I was never really happy with the results I got at the mall out there, it was kinda hit or miss, and more expensive than at Perfect Eyebrows. All the threaders are talented, however the one who is there most of the week (she works 5 days and is the only threader there on those days most of the time), is amazing...I've never been disappointed with her, however I've never asked her name =[ or if I ever did, I've forgotten it. She's really gentle and gives me a beautiful arch without making my brows too thin. Most importantly she actually threads the hair out by the root, whereas other times I've been threaded and the hair is cut close to the skin by the thread rather than yanked out and grows back super quick. The only downside is that it's all the way in Bay Ridge, and I live in Kensington, but it's well worth the drive. I usualIy find parking on 5th ave at a meter(on 87th or higher, lower down it's impossible to find a spot), but there's also a municipal garage about 2 blocks from the shop if you don't want to look for parking. I can always expect to get the same results with her everytime which is priceless. However, the price isn't bad at all!!! 7 bucks! It's also conveniently located down the block from the back entrance of Century 21 if you want to do a little shopping. I tried Lucky Noor (for threading) which is about 2 blocks away on 86th st because of all the praise they get, but I wasn't as happy with them, and they're also more pricey. (Also, not sure if I was threaded by the famous Lucky herself, it might have been someone else, as they usually have about 3 people working at a time). I would definitely give this little shop a try, it's totally worth it! Also, I'm pretty sure the one who I love is either the owner or the owner's wife, so if you want to call up and find her name and hours, I guess you can ask for the name of the owner. I also met her kids the other day and they're beautiful and so sweet =] * A little tip, try not to go at about 3 when school gets out, because she get's super packed, or in the evening because people coming off work also flood the place. Unfortunately, this was probably the worst eyebrow threading experience I've ever had. I came in late on a weeknight but at least 30 minutes before closing time. The lady who did my eyebrows was rude and abrupt. I asked her to specifically wax my eyebrows because I'm sensitive to threading and it's pretty painful for me. She proceeded to THREAD my eyebrows even when I asked her specifically to wax them a second time. I'm not one to complain or post negative reviews, but this was absolutely appalling to me. I've been going to this salon a few times because I barely do my eyebrows anyway, but if you want good eyebrows I suggest you ask for the owner, she is best at it, I had her always when I went to do my eyes brows or upper lip. If she isn't there don't bother going at all. Other than that, they weren't rude to me what's so ever but I like a salon that does make me feel comfortable and I like nice people in general and they did seem very dull, but that doesn't really matter. read more

I've been here a bunch of times and the people that work here are nice enough. They usually do a good job, but the last time they made one of my eyebrows much much thinner than the other, and I had to match it to the other one with an eyebrow pencil for about a month. The price is good but not worth the risk, I won't be going back. read more

My boyfriend and I have been coming to SONIA for years now. She's AMAZING! For the past 2 weeks I've been calling the salon to schedule an appointment with her. I was informed that Sonia husband was in the hospital and they didn't know when she will be back. I decided to call again today to check if they have heard anything from Sonia and to see how her husband was doing. The lady (Dee) who answer the phone said Sonia was not there and she didn't know when she'll be back because her husband was in the hospital. I told her "I'm sorry to hear that. I'll call another time. Thank you." Dee said I should still come how she's has over 19 years of experience. How she has great reviews on yelp. How I would be happy with her service. I told her "thank you and I'll see if I can stop by later." My boyfriend and I were procrastinating for hours because we don't let anyone else touch our eyebrow but Sonia. We decided to take the drive out there because it's had been a month since we have done our eyebrows. We drove from park slope to baybridge. What a waste of GAS! We are so UPSET not only was the experience hurtful for both of us! Dee left both of us with two different eyebrows. She's left me with one thin eyebrow and one thick eyebrow. She left my boyfriend with uneven eyebrow. One eyebrow has a angle and the other one doesn't. WORSET EXPERIENCE EVER! We definitely not coming back. read more

Not going back!! They always have someone new working and each person does your eyebrows differently. It's annoying when you explain to them how you want it to be done, specifically not to touch a part of your brow and you open your eyes to the opposite of what you ask. After two years of one spot growing she threads it off and makes my eyebrows look even more uneven now. How annoying. Not giving them another chance anymore. read more

My eyebrows are far from "perfection" after the visit in this salon. I've got used to the procedure where they ask me what kind of arch I would like, they clean the eyebrows from the make up residue and with the precision and almost painless start the procedure. We'll, nothing from the above was done in "Perfect Eyebrows". No arch, skin got damaged, lots of hairs were not threaded and I had to fix it by myself at home. Tinting veeery uneven, fast and sloppy job. Plus the lady named Sonya kept nagging me to leave the review on Yelp before she even finished working on my brows. First off, I must admit that I am the one of the "lucky" few whose eyebrows grow at an exponentially mutant rate and have the luxury of trying out several different places without fear (why should I be afraid? they'll be just as bushy the next week!). I had actually been growing out my eyebrows for a long time before I stopped by Perfect Eyebrows. I was initially going to get them done at a place in the city my cousin recommended, but of course, I was too lazy. I dropped by at about 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday, which was a great idea. The place was empty and I was at a station in no time. Before we started, I asked the lady to not make them thin. I cannot count how many times my eyebrows have been butchered by estheticians who think transforming my caterpillars into shrimp veins is attractive on me. Anyway, she gladly smiled, nodded, and went to work. Since I had been growing them for a while, I was expecting severe pain because of the quantity of hair. She started threading from under my eyebrow, instead of the top (my forehead). I really appreciated this since my pain threshold was built and by the time she got to the top, I wasn't tearing waterfalls. I also could not believe how patiently she took her time. I felt like every hair she was pulling was intentional on her part. I usually get them done haphazardly by a lady speeding to move on to the next person. After a couple of minutes, she asked whether I wanted lotion, which was nice since people usually slab on whatever cheap beauty supply stuff they have laying around which makes me break out. I thanked her, but turned down the lotion since it usually doesn't settle well with me. Right after, she started putting away the thread until I asked her to thread my upper lip just to be extra clean. That is what won me over, since it's a semi pet peeve when the lady rudely starts threading my upper lip. When all was finished, and I looked in the mirror, I was very pleased with my eyebrows. They were well-groomed, and definitely on the thicker side. Personally, I wouldn't mind if she made them slightly thinner, but I would definitely rather have them a little bit thicker than shrimp veins. I paid $12 for my eyebrows and upper lip, and left a tip. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. I will definitely be back again, and this time I won't wait too long in between sessions to get them done. I must say though, parking in the neighborhood is absolutely ridiculous. I knew I wasn't going to find parking so I made my mom take me and she had to wait outside parked beside a fire hydrant. read more

This is the best place for threading ever! I have been going there since they opened and I refuse to go anywhere else. The price is reasonable, the people that work there are very nice, and the owner is a wonderful person, who in my opinion, is the best person there for threading. She does awesome shaping and really listens because I only like them cleaned up not thinned out (as many threaders like to do) and she leaves them just the way I like them.
