I then reminded her that I only made an appointment for two quick and simple French braids (I washed and conditioned my hair at home in preparation)... Tiffany then proceeds to say that she had 2 more "extensive clients" coming in later that she had to take care of. Glad to know my time and money isn't good enough to be a valued customer... A simple phone call would have sufficed. They had 6 days to give me a heads up. Now I don't even know if I can make another appointment elsewhere on so short of notice before my flight tomorrow morning. What a let-down :/ UPDATE 05/11 5:09 PM: I just got out of rehearsal and I was immediately notified by my manager and my mom, that Tiffany called my business cell (@ 3:49 PM) and harassed my mom about what I assume to be my yelp review...and when my mom lost phone service (understandable, since there's bad signal in the back studios), Tiffany then proceeded to harass her via text message (@ 3:50 PM). My mom doesn't even know what yelp is, we had to explain it to her. I'm utterly shocked by this inappropriate and unprofessional behavior. It's certainly been a difficult time for everyone; Customers and businesses alike. Some businesses post-Covid like to share their difficulties with new customers that they've traversed; without truly recognizing and honoring that times have been equally hard for the customers who are now spending their hard earned money in good faith on businesses. Again: it's been a challenging time for everyone, Ownership might remember that they're there to provide a service, and a client is there for business, not interaction that crosses boundaries into "too personal". A customer by necessity needs to sometimes share information to better assist a beauty service; for example, if they've had surgical procedures in a certain area, they should let the technician know that certain areas are sensitive; If they've gone through treatment for an illness, it's best to be transparent about how that may affect the area of service; This is NOT an invitation for the technician to share completely unrelated personal information about their own challenges. The client is there for a business service, not to be feel helplessly captive while a beautician shares deeply personal, inappropriate information. Requesting appropriate professional communication was dismissed and ignored. Further request for communication after the business suffered setbacks was likewise dismissed. Out of discretion I'll say: A customer should feel comfortable at all times in a place of business; Conversations should remain professional, and welcoming, particularly for new customers; it's ALWAYS best when owners and technicians respect boundaries of communication for everyone's comfort and productivity. A customer visits a place of business for a service, and should not ever be made to feel uncomfortable by personal information being shared by those that administer a service, especially when paying for that service. I wish this business and ownership every good thing, and thank them for the couple of services a few months ago. Thank you.

I Found Studio Queen a few years back, the first meeting was so amazing, the owner and the girls working there were super humble, very helpful and would always show up for us when we needed hair for our clients. One phone call or text message from us was enough for them to come through, as in getting the hair ready, always nice and understanding about exchanges, or ordering certain colors and lengths, and we would buy hair from them for about 2 to 4 thousand dollars if not every week, every other week. Sadly the girls are gone, owner is the same, new girls are hired and oh my god !!! They are rude, nonchalant, attitude level is all time high. There's always a blank stare when we tell them we need certain hair and at a certain time, and after the blank stare come the attitude with "make the full payment and then you'll get the hair!!!", and when we make the full payment, the hair is not what we asked for, quality is really bad but again there's always that blank stare, like "we don't care" type of stare. I highly dont recommend doing business with them, specially if you're gonna spend big like we do. Angelique has been with me for many important "life events"...Going from long hair to short hair, cutting short hair shorter in preparation for chemotherapy, and giving me my first real haircut after regrowing my hair, lost to almost 1 full year of treatment for Stage 3 Breast Cancer. I've never been disappointed with Angelique's work and always look forward spending time with her. Angelique's shop is conveniently located near LA Valley College and is very clean.
