My only complaint is that one of the conveyer belts (if that's what they're called) had a huge dip right before getting on and you had to struggle to go slightly uphill to get on the belt. Beginner definitely take that ski lesson if you never ski before. I was a bit hesitant so I stayed on my bunny and green beginners stage slopes. Tubing: so fun! I love this activity because it fires up the whole family to get out and have fun together. You just can't be mad or sad at a place like this, laughter is contagious as friends and family speed down one of three snow-covered hills. PN keeps the snow pumping out which is extra special on days the weather is above 50 degrees. Warm sunshine + snow tubing is a perfect combo for a girl who doesn't love the cold! Don't skip out on a trip to PN just because it's a warmer day, they're likely still open. There's plenty of space in the tubing area to find a seat and leave your stuff. The snack shop has a decent amount of drinks (water for $4- yikes), popcorn, pizza, etc.. unfortunately we couldn't find a water fountain to refill our water so plan ahead and bring all the snacks + drinks from home. Tubing parking is separate from snowboard/skiing which is a great benefit to have. It keeps the crowds from intermingling which equals more space. Everyone should go tubing atleast once! read more

First time skiing. They assigned us an instructor with zero patience. He was so mean, condescending and made me feel so dumb for trying or even falling. He sucked all the fun out of it. my 14y/o nephew who was right next to me came up to me after the instructor left and said he was so mean and taught you nothing practical. He was in such a rush to "teach" us and on the phone the entire time. when i fell and he had to come help me up, he'd be annoyed. if i even asked him for help, he'd literally say "it's common sense man, use your body". We came at the right time. First thing in the AM. By noon the lines were at least five minutes, most places. A few nice groomed trails. The ski school is inexpensive at 20$ per lesson for the group rate. However, the lesson was probably no longer than 30 minute although you are paying for an hour. The checkin was a bit disorganized with additional wrist bands that had to be affixed to the students...and the lessons likely didn't get going until 10-15 mins into the hour, and they let us pick our kid up 10 mins prior to the top of the hour. It's silly that they couldn't organize 2 or 3 hour group lesson because no one learns anything in 30 minutes. Additionally, parents can't enjoy the slopes either ---30 minutes we only could do 2 runs and then had to worry about picking up our kid. Charge more if you have to, other places are charging $60/hour or 120-180 for a 2 or 3 hour lessons. Just my two cents. The lodge doesn't serve beer or alcohol. Would have been nice. Then again it's Tennessee. We had lunch for 3 and it set us back $50. I'd say overall an ok experience. read more

Buying lift tickets and renting equipment online really speeds up things once you arrive. All the staff are so nice and helpful. My son had not skied in a while, and they were so patient. The lodge is expansive, with the East Lodge is where you can bring your own food. One family even had a crock pot with stew! The slopes were great, as we just got a ton of snow. After my first experience skiing, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go again during the season. However, I had a friend who really wanted to go, so we got a good sized group together and checked out Perfect North. For a day pass with rentals, it was $89. For 8 full hours of skiing, I'd say that's decent. Food court prices are also not too crazy. My group came with a variety of skills, from newbies to others that brought their own equipment. I really appreciated that Perfect North has a variety of hills so that there is plenty for the beginner, intermediate, and also advanced. It's a large place and popular, so lots of people and you will wait in lines. However, it moves quickly enough with multiple lifts. Also ample of seating for lunch time. Staff is abundant and helpful. I would recommend coming with a good size group so you always have some buddies to explore with. I'm excited to come again next season and see what new hills I can take on! read more

Many people do not know Indy residents can drive just 1.5 hours to ski here. Perfect north has a nice website and great reviews on here and Google as well, and it did not disappoint. I recommend buying lift tickets and pay for rentals online. That way you can just scan a barcode once you arrive. You will need to sign the waivers online too. Unfortunately I had such a difficult time finding the right pair of boots. I'm short and I just don't think these are made for people of my height or have wide feet or calves. They were very uncomfortable and if you don't get the right amount of tightness, it hurts a lot. I was upset that boots fitting took a long time, but the staff there were so helpful and kind. They took time and helped me out. I was very grateful. I was finally ready to go, and I loved to see that there are so many different slopes depending on your level. I spent a long time in the beginners area ( first time skiing as an adult ). They have surface lifts which was actually fun just riding. After that my friend and I got in an actual lift to get on a longer steeper slope. Despiste being on Saturday, the longest I waited for a life ride was about 5 minutes. Not bad! Staff were everywhere and I thought it was so organized. I saw kids and adults taking ski lessons as well. It was very welcoming. The concession area in the main lodge had many tables and chairs. It wasn't so cold so I enjoyed having snacks on the outside deck while watching other people skiing and snowboarding. I'll go back next year. read more

Been skiing here since I started skiing. Best slopes in Indiana or Ohio. It's midwest skiing so it's almost all man made and sadly with global warming the season keeps getting shorter, but the Perfect's team stay open as long as possible. The lines are super long on weekends, I tend to prefer weekdays. The prices are very reasonable as ski slopes go. The staff is seasonal high schoolers mostly so it can be hit and miss on service, but the management is usually very helpful if anything is amiss. I get my season pass every year for a reason. I have never been skiing before so I was excited to go with my friends! We went on a Sunday during MLK weekend - so we knew that it would be busy. We purchased tickets online ahead of time. We got the tickets with rental equipment. If you buy 5 or more tickets, it's $79.20 per person. That's not bad for an 8 hour ticket and rental equipment. Honestly there were so many people and it was kind of chaotic (but in a good way). There's a room for helmet, a room with equipment/ski boots, and multiple lodges. There's also a place where food is available for purchase. For the amount of people that went skiing, the staff was very efficient!! The line for food was long but moved very fast. They have a plethora of food options. I got Combo 3, which was Chicken tenders, and a fountain drink for $10.50. All of the staff were wearing blue shirts. For actually skiing, as a beginner I stuck to the bunny hills and only went on the green ski lift. That was enough for me. Overall, I had a great experience skiing for the first time. This resort is probably as good as downhill skiing/snowboarding gets near Indianapolis. Obviously, it's not Colorado, Alaska, or Pacific Northwest. It's not overly expensive if you buy tickets online / for a group / once a week pass / season pass. Slopes and equipment were in good shape. We came here for a day and rented skis. The rental process was chaotic and pretty concerning in terms of public safety. That's the main reason I gave this place 2 stars. There was no regulation as to how many people entered the rental area at a time and I didn't see much cleaning in the area either. Most people did wear a mask, but there were some individuals without it and it wasn't enforced in the rental rooms as much as it was outside (which honestly isn't as important). I'd appreciate if management put a gatekeeper on each side of the rental facility and allowed 20 people at a time instead of 200 like it was today. It's very irresponsible and reckless in relation to visitors and the whole community. If you come with you own gear, you can skip the Covid-19 hatchery (aka rental room) and enjoy your time outdoors. The wait at chairlifts was pretty long unless you went to the slopes for more experienced people. In 4 hours, we were able to go down only 5 times. And the length of the slopes can't justify such wait times... Unless Covid-19 safety improves, we will not be back. It's too much of a risk right now if you're renting gear on the spot. read more

2/14/22 I came here for a Galentine's Day celebration with my friends. Some of us have never skied or snowboarded so this was one of the best places to come to and learn how to do so. I've been skiing here once before in 2014, so I had some experience with the snow. But some of my friends haven't ever done either. My friend, Deanna, is a snowboarding instructor and was so helpful in learning how to do snowboarding, but unfortunately Skiing was more my jam. This place is so much fun! The staff is helpful and friendly when checking in, to figure out where to go to get your rental equipment. There's not any instruction on how to put your boots on, so you basically figure it out as you look around. They offer bib and snow pants rental for $10 so don't worry if you couldn't find any snow pants or didn't wear any. Also, they do have a small gift shop you can buy things like chapstick if you forgot yours. If you purchase a general admission with your pass, you get a $10 gift card you can use in house, which is great because it covered our lunch there. Food it cheap and reminded me of cafeteria food at Public school. There's space outside to sit by a fire and relax. You could even have a picnic if you wanted near by. Some folks brought their own food and snacks, as the parking lot isn't too far bedtime. I would definitely come back here again in the future. read more

Spent the weekend at perfect north. I highly recommend skiing at night. The night lift ticket is from 8pm-midnight and it's cheaper! It is significantly less crowded at night. We went both during the day and night and my whole group said they preferred the night time experience a lot more. They upgraded their locker facilities. The lockers are now $8 for the day and you are able to secure your locker at a kiosk which makes it quick and easy. read more

Now I know where all the covid cases are coming from: I love that we have a snowsports option in Indiana however... The social distancing and covid precautions here were...frankly... laughable. Sure, they tried: -They had signs and loudspeaker announcements telling people to cover their face and wash their hands -A couple employees were enforcing face coverings in the ski lift line -A guy with a backpack of sanitizer went around spraying down surfaces -There was sanitizer available almost everywhere But none of this really matters given the sheer volume and density of people there. I haven't been in close proximity with so many different people in over a year. The room where you get your boots was f*n free-for-all with hundreds of people running around grabbing boots, pushing past each other, packing in lines, etc. There must have been over 100 people in 1 large room. There was no capacity limiting. No distancing markers... nothing The dining hall was just as bad, people packed in, eating, talking, waiting in line, no sanitizing of tables in between... Absolutely nuts I'm just glad I went AFTER I spent the holidays with my family because there is no way I would see anyone I love within 2 weeks of going there. The fact that it took 45 minutes to get through a ski lift line (with every lift packed full) was evidence enough that there were wayyy to many people there for covid times. What they should have done: -Limit the number of cars that can even come in (the massivenparking lot was packed, your first bad sign) -Have people pre-reserve times entry with a limited number allowed per time slot -Limit the number of people entering indoor spaces (people were allowed to flood into the rental, eating, lodge areas, without monitoring) -Clearly mark 6 ft apart standing spots indoors -Have people cleaning tables between eaters I could go on... I truly think this is a horrible violation of covid safety. I hate to see this business shutdown but there needs to be big changes read more

If y'all are in need of something fun to do this winter you need to make a trip to Perfect North Slopes. A group of 7 of us went and let me tell you I'm ready to go again. The ticket process what quick and smooth. After the obligatory photo with Clyde's Bear we went to grab our tubes and off we went. The escalators took a little getting used to but went quick enough. We never had to wait long. We opted for the 2 hr session. Let me tell ya... it doesn't sound like a lot but it was more than enough time to get all of the fun in. We were wore out when those 2 hrs were up. There are 3 different slopes options and all we're a blast but our group loved the thrill of the higher slopes to the far right. We could also all go as a group which let me tell you.... We flew down that slope. I laughed and squealed so much that my sides hurt. There was also an area where you could pop in and warm up and grab a bite to eat. A lot like cafeteria style foods. If you haven't been yet I would 100% recommend you give this place a go. Had a fun day at Perfect North. Coming from central Indiana, this is a great place to have access to. The runs aren't long (but come on--we aren't in the Rockies!), but good variety. We had an absolute blast today! From the start the pricing is great, $88 online with a $10 debit card given upon check in. If you are out less than 4 hours they give you another $10 back. Rental equipment was great (we rented snow pants, skis, boots, poles, and helmets). Employees were friendly and let me use their phones when we got separated (I didn't bring my phone out on the slopes because I didn't think I'd need it but she had hers). Slopes were great, it was her 1st time so we did the bunny hill for a while to get her comfortable. The grade/challenges vary for the different hills which is great. We progressed to the mid level hills, snow coverage was good and lifts were smooth. The cafeteria place is actually pretty good. The prices are very reasonable and the quality isn't bad for cafeteria style food. My Larosa's pizza and baked potato for ten bucks got the job done. Amusement parks charge double what they do. My only critique would be the layout of the lodge is pretty weird. It almost seems like a maze, go here to get your ticket, go to the other end to get your locker, the food place is in the middle, shop is randomly on the 2nd floor past the cafeteria, going up and down stairs constantly. We'll be back and I'm sure the layout won't be as much of an issue. read more

PNS will always have a soft spot for me. Growing up in the middle of rural Indiana a ski slope is the last thing you expect to be able to have access to, but here it is, Perfect North Slopes. It may not be the mountains but it is a great place to learn to ski or snowboard and to be able to enjoy the winter sports you love without having to buy a plane ticket. The facility has really come a long way from when it opened, lots of space to spread out and gather with a group, plenty of food and beverage options to keep you warm and ready for the snow. Their rental equipment is well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I'm excited to be able to bring my daughter out this year to get her comfortable on a set of skis. Well this is a PAPA writing this review and as we know only the coolest grandfathers get the PAPA title with that said I would like to share our Monday experience. My daughter, my wife and I took a 6 year old (Boy), a 4 year old (Girl) and a pair of 3 year old (Twin Boys) to the tubing side of the park and can I say WOW this is the best day thar I have experienced with this group!! The hill was a ton of fun, the hot chocolate was amazing but what makes any experience worth writing a review, of course it's the STAFF they were amazing from the young men and women that helped us on and off the conveyor belts to the cashier on the little eatery. All had a smile on their face, were pleasant and seamed to always go that extra little bit to make us have more fun. Now mind you we went on a Monday ( We owned the hill there was only a few of us there). We only wish they opened earlier (1:00 PM) since we drove from Bowling Green, KY. It was definitely worth the drive and we will do it again as my daughter said bet PTO day ever used again it was thanks to the STAFF!!!! read more

A little slice of a Colorado/VT right here in the Midwest! No snow when you look out your window? no problem! These guys are snowmaking gurus. You can always count on there being tons of that gorgeous white stuff here early winter through early spring. Every year I get a season pass, which they have many options for. M-Thurs unlimited, M-F and Sunday evening, full on unlimited... there's something for everyone. As I have a flexible schedule I prefer weekdays, when it is less crowded. I ski, and I have my own, but they have options for rentals of both skis and snowboards including helmets. The staff here is always super accommodating. They have great ski instructors and I highly recommend taking lessons your first few times out. The lifts are nice and there is plenty of terrain for every skill level. There is also snow tubing. A ski/snowboard lift ticket does include tubing, or you can just do tubing... which is super fun. The ski lodge is nice. Upstairs it has a loft shop complete with everything you could need and very knowledgeable pros. On the main level the cafe has a wide selection of healthy and unhealthy junk foods for your refueling. There's a huge fireplace that you can sit by which is always roaring. There are plenty of tables in many different areas. The lift ticket window is also on the main level with indoor or outdoor walk up. There is a huge deck outside which also has places to sit and a recent addition of a fire pit. Downstairs is the rental shop and locker rooms. You can leave your skis/ snowboard here for a tune up which is very reasonably priced and turnaround time is great. Whether you are a seasoned winter sports enthusiast or a newbie, this is a great destination for fun! read more

Perfect North Slopes is a great place to spend the day. It's not the nicest resort I've ever visited, so don't go expecting a really nice lodge or fancy cafes; but, the snow quality is great! And they have lots of trails, so it's good for beginners or experienced skiers. Honestly, I don't love skiing that much, but I enjoyed my time spent at Perfect North. I had fun sitting around with my friends, playing on the Bunny Slopes, and spending the entire afternoon and evening tubing. They have lots of tubing lanes, so even when the lines are really long they go quickly and you'll get lots of chances to fly down the snowy slopes on your intertube! And at the bottom of the hill, they have fire pits and seating areas where you can hang out and watch the fun when you need a break. If you're looking for a spot for some winter fun (even when it's not actually snowing) I think Perfect North is a good spot for it. read more

Did you know Perfect North is one of the leaders in snow-making?! It was a sunny, warm day and we were skiing down slopes with incredible quality snow. I've been going here for twenty years and have experienced their growth in creating great snow. Sometimes fake snow can be too icy or slushy, but last week was seriously perfect. Biggest tip? Go during the week. It's worth taking off a day of work for ZERO lines. You'll get to do ten times the amount of skiing you could on a weekend. There's 22 ski/snowboard trails and five chair lifts. My favorite runs are the one on the far left and the one on the far right - they're both the longest runs because they snake along the side of the mountain and are incredibly enjoyable. There's a good mix of green, blue and black slopes and we went down all of them multiple times. There's even tubing (which is a BLAST). You can connect about ten tubes and go down as a huge group, which makes you go even faster. The rental equipment is nice, as are all of the staff. There's a lodge with several (cheap) food options and a ski shop. This is an incredible day trip (only about an hour and a half from Indy and about an hour from Cincy). You'll feel like you went on a vacation and it's fun to workout in such a fun way! read more

Great spot to do some skiing if you live nearby. Recently moved to Cincinnati and was searching nearby ski resorts for something to do as a weekend trip. Came across Perfect North and was so happy to see that it was only about 35mins away. Pros: nearby, inexpensive (only $80 for all rentals and lift pass for the day when you buy online ahead of time. Otherwise it's $85 there.), lots of beginner and intermediate runs, lots of staff that were all friendly, and food on the premises (but also microwaves in case you want to bring your own food. And tons of tables inside where people leaves coolers, packed lunches, etc.) Cons: long lines!!!! Way too long! It is not just because it was super crowded, but more so because so much space was wasted on each lift chair that went up. Most of the lifts are 4 seaters and most only carried two people up and sometimes a person would be riding up solo. It was really frustrating to think that the lines could be moving at least twice as quickly if they actually filled the lift chairs like other ski resorts do. I get that we're in COVID times but everyone was SO bundled up (because skiing and cold weather) and masks were enforced. I was so bundled up that I couldn't breathe on anyone if I tried haha but if it was because of covid, I guess I'll just have to try coming back when things are back to normal. Another con: no alcohol served at the lodge. We did know this ahead of time and it obviously wasn't a dealbreaker. Would've been nice to have a beer with lunch by a fire. There were people who brought their own coolers and beers and it seemed to be totally fine, which was refreshing to see. It didn't seem like they were "breaking the rules" or anything like that. There also weren't really any tough runs. And the coloring/levels were very inconsistent. One blue would would seem like a very easy green and then another would be steep with twists and turns. All in all, it was a great value for our money and we were able to do all the runs in one day. Next time we'd like to go on a weekday to hopefully have less wait time. But it was fun and the people (workers and visitors) were very friendly and nice. Would be a great place for beginners! read more

Walked into the bottom bathroom by locker rooms and there was a firearm on the sink and a syringe in the urinal, this was my 2nd visit, my 3rd visit witnessed 6 fights 2 of which came right at me, very weird activity at this place let alone one of the employees blowing a giant cloud of smoke in my face after I asked how his day was, and ANOTHER employee trying to fight me because I wanted to see the manager because my kid was injured. read more

(From February 2019) This was my first visit here! First, we hit the tubing area with the kids. Even thought it was crazy busy, the staff got people registered and out the door really quickly. There were always tubes ready to go. There are two different levels/distances for tubing. They were equally fun. We had a 6 & 3 year old and they both had a great time! There were plenty of spots to get warmed up. We double layered, but we're stripping by the end of the morning. We then headed to the slopes for skiing. It's utter chaos down below where you check out your rental gear. The staff keeps it moving, but if I wasn't with an experienced Perfect Norther I would've been terrified! The main lodge was equally crazy. People camping out with food, napping, and everything in between. They had a nice little food court with plenty to choose from also. I'm used to Paoli, so I'm going to start off by comparing this to Paoli. There are a LOT more runs here, and it has a bit more of a "professional" atmosphere than Paoli. Black diamonds here are definitely more advanced than Paoli. We went the day of a ski jumping competition, so it was fun to watch skiiers and boarders practice jumps and tricks at the terrain park or whatever it is called. It's a little pricey. Lift tickets and ski rental were $85 a pop. Probably worth buying your own equipment if you go a lot. Equipment rental is kind of a free-for-all. You just go in and grab whatever size boots you want. They say that on Saturdays sometimes they reach capacity at noon. Someone said that they were turned away because they had ran out of boots in their size, so they got a refund. Their ski shop is kind of lame. It is small and they were out of women's snow pants! Due to COVID they require masks in the lodge and while waiting for the lifts. They also don't allow strangers to sit next to each other on the lifts, which is great for safety but causes really long lines on a Saturday. My sister timed it, and it took 45 minutes for us to wait in line and ski down. The cafeteria is meh - it has pizza, burgers, and salads. There were a ton of people who knew what's up and brought huge spreads like they were tailgating, and took up tables in the lodge all day. Clearly, that's the way to go. They have some coin lockers, but pro tip: Bring a lock and use the regular lockers! They have lessons every hour for different abilities. I took one for $15. It helped me gain more confidence, and it also lets you skip the lift lines. It's worth it for that alone! And because it's Indiana, except some shenanigans and tomfoolery. I saw a guy drink from a flask in line for the lift, people smoking weed on the slopes, a fight breaking out in the parking lot, and a guy skiing shirtless (?). They have an attached snow tubing park which looked fun, but we didn't check it out. read more

If you're not going to limit ticket sales to control capacity, you're admitting to your customers that you don't care about their time or satisfaction, all you care about is taking their money. Waiting 45 minutes to an hour in a lift line is beyond unacceptable. I should've known right away that this place was going to be a disaster when the website didn't show how many tickets were remaining. If you're interested in filling the pockets of the greedy and selfish, this is the resort for you. If you're interested in going on more than 7 runs in 10 hours, drive a little bit further to one of the hills in Ohio. It might be smaller but at least you'll get to do what you spent your hard earned money to do. I can't believe I'm saying this but Perfect North might actually benefit from getting bought out by the corporate overlord of Vail resorts. Going to perfect north is a complete waste of time, money, and energy. The only way to improve the experience would be capping ticket sales after so many people, but clearly ownership has no intentions of putting their customers first. I hadn't been skiing in almost 15 years but when the opportunity arose I had to take it. It really was a lot of fun. With a bunch of different slopes for all skill levels, there is a lot to do here. Even though it was really crowded, by taking advantage of the single rider line, I was able to get a lot of time on the slopes. I look forward to coming back some time in the future. read more

First time back here since I was a kid. Seriously had an absolute blast! We expected that we may spend only a few out of the full 8 hours. Nope. We were there 7 1/2 hours! Getting lift tickets and equipment is so easy and everyone is so helpful and accommodating. Not to mention they really do have great equipment! Ski lessons and snowboard lessons are included. Also included is tubing which is spectacular! The tubes are heavy on the bottom and comfortable. You drag them up to a conveyer that takes you to the top of the hills. Also loved the lodge. We had to get a new pair of gloves at the shop and they have some items with descent prices and the lady was friendly and helpful. Let's talk food. On point. You can get anything from burgers, hotdogs, Larosas' pizza and steak sandwiches. We got 2 individual pizzas, a steak sandwich and coffee for $21. Great prices in my opinion! Plan an entire day, take some bottle water, and enjoy relaxing by the fire. We can't wait to go back! read more
