Last weekend, I took my 18 year-old autistic daughter to Lane Bryant. Her school program was…read moreholding its first prom, and for the first time in her life, she wanted to wear a dress. She has sensory & behavioral challenges, so I was not looking forward to dress shopping. I decided to start at Lane Bryant since it's small and would have something in her size. When we entered the store, we were very quickly greeted by Cheryl. I explained why we were there, and she immediately grasped the situation. She asked about my daughter's sensory needs and offered to have us sit in the Accessible fitting room, which had a soft comfortable chair for my daughter to sit in, while Cheryl picked out some dresses. We tried on several and ended up with a pretty floral one with stretchy, comfortable fabric. It was perfect. My daughter had her prom last night and had a wonderful time. Everyone told her how beautiful she looked, and she felt special. Thank you to Lane Bryant, and especially to Cheryl!
