Beyond annoyed by my service with Payless Rooter. They came to give me an estimate, I then schedule for an appointment, they miss the appointment, have to schedule it again, they come and do the work. Was charged ~$1400 to have the water pressure reduced in the house as it was too high, along with some work on one of the showers. I was still having issues with temperature and pressure after the work, I had messaged the business owner on yelp to explain I had issues regarding the work, they tell me to call in to set an appointment. I called and set an appointment, no one ever came out at the time of the appointment, no call to tell me that no one was coming. Fast forward two weeks I was able to get someone out to take a look at things. My water pressure was set lower than what I was told it was the previous time someone came out to do some work. read more

UPDATE: Ironically the day I wrote my review for previous service, we had the worst experience with this company. While my previous recommendation for Kevin still stands, I can no longer recommend the company as they blew off our appointment time 3 times with no contact on 2 occasions. I spoke with multiple representatives in customer service trying to work things out, however the things I was told by these representatives were never followed up on nor were they documented in our client profile with the company. Sad to see such a downfall in only a couple months. We had Kevin come over to our home to look at some plumbing issues we were having. Let's face it, when you have a plumbing issue at home you probably see money flying out the window, especially if it happens on the weekend. I know I was a ball of angst, but Payless Rooter came to the rescue and I recommend them. I called for a problem with my drain line to the kitchen and laundry room. They came out to review the issue and started the work promptly. When the job turned out bigger than could be done on the spot, they were up front about the costs and the potential overrun if the job was larger once they started work. I made arrangements for a weekday repair and the crew was right on time and got straight to work keeping us informed of the progress. In the end, the job was completed fairly quickly and our problem solved. Matt and his crew were a nice bunch to work with, and were always polite, respectful, and professional. The sort of bad: My job involved digging in my yard and part of my neighbor's yard between the houses. We get it that it won't look the same after, but the cleanup was a little bit messy. The other thing that could use a little improvement is that they do all estimates electronically which is great, but due to a glitch mine didn't arrive via email as promised. No worries, this is easily fixable by asking for a copy which I'm sure they'll gladly provide. The good: the team was a pleasure to deal with, on time, and the costs were right as estimated up front without any surprise add-ons. And unlike other companies, there is no "trip charge" just to tell you what they can do for you. They came out, assessed the job, and provided clear up-front information about the work. What a great professional group. Have a plumbing issue that needs worked on? Give Payless Rooter a call. It saddens me to have to write this review. I've been a loyal customer of this company since 2018, when they replaced my sewer line under horrible circumstances. Every year since then, I've used this company to come to my house to perform yearly main sewer cleanings and other plumbing needs. No more! I had a plumbing emergency today and called this company - twice - to send a plumber to my house. Three-and-a-half hours later, I still haven't received a call back from the Supervisor on call letting me know when a plumber can come to my house to address the emergency. No matter how busy a company is, when there's an emergency call, it needs to be returned in a timely manner, even if it is just to acknowledge the call. A company that once made me feel important as a customer has really let me down today. I won't be using this company's plumbing services ever again. This company has lost a loyal customer of six years. read more

Our basement toilet was backing up. The company came and out was responsive. The tech was very professional and I believe he tried to clear our sewer line, but maybe did not have enough line on his machine for my house. My issue with this first part is that the machine scraped my wood stairs going both up and down. I said something to the tech and he said, "well, it happens and the machine belts were worn". I told him that the last guy to do this 5 years ago never scraped my stair. For the job, he had a 100 feet of cable on his sewer machine and don't not have any extra on his truck to add. Unfortunately, he did not get the clog cleared and said his boss would come out and run a scope to see what the issue was. The supervisor did come out and cameraed the sewer. He couldn't tell what was blocking the sewer and recommended that I install clean outs outside my house. They did offer to immediately start on the issue on a Friday evening. I really appreciated that the company wanted to take care of the issue then. However, if I waited through the weekend to Monday or Tuesday, the price dropped by about $600, still not at a price you don't want to just dive into the project. It kind of struck me a little strange that the issue couldn't be cleared and the camera wasn't really showing what the clog was. So instead of just going with the advice, I thought I would try the place I had out on a prior occasion (I would have used this rooter service, but unfortunately they couldn't give me a time slot on Friday). Anyway, original rooter came out and cleared the problem. He used a longer than 100 foot cable. I also obtained another quote to install an outside clean out, if that was the actual solution. The quotes were $700-$1,300 less. A couple of things: 1) Payless was not careful with their machine and my stairs or they need to maintain the machine, so it doesn't scrape stairs; 2) they did refund my fee because they couldn't get the clog undone; 3) they might be a little high for clean out bids; and 4) I never determined if I actually needed the recommended work or was just being sold a bigger job. I say this because another company was able to get the clog cleared. If you are reading this, good luck with your plumbing issue. read more

This place showed up on time. Wore masks, I don't care what the mask mandate says, if you're in my house-you wear a mask. The pea trap kept leaking for years, I'd try to fix it- never lasted. Turns out that the pea trap was installed 2 inches shorter than it should have been. The plumber goes out to his truck and gets the right size, explaining everything he's doing and why along the way. Invoice 31155 The technician should get the highest marks for a job well done in a difficult situation. He was honest, persistent, and determined. And answered all my questions. Even though he had problems, the tech performed admirably. I just went down in the crawl space and the are no leaks. Even though he could not get his rooter through the pipes and it made al kinds of noise; he stuck with for several hours. And the toilet leaked after he put it back but he managed to fix that. HIs explanations were detailed and credible and proved accurate in the following days. This townhouse has some crazy problems due to a kitchen remodel in which several layers of plywood, heated floor, tile, cement board were added to the floor. Some of this I knew about but I didn't know how it would affect the plumbing. read more

Was in town visiting my dad. He had a kitchen sink that wouldn't drain. I contacted Payless Rooter. I am glad that I did. They sent drain tech (Dino) who determined that there were some plumbing repairs that had to be made before he could clear drain. He arranged for plumber (Kevin) to come out that same afternoon. After the repairs were made, he came back to finish the clean-out. Both Dino and Kevin were prompt (arriving nearer to the end of the promised window - but well within it), courteous, and professional. They explained what needed to be done and why. Work was finished quickly and they left no mess whatsoever. On top of all of that, the price was quite fair. We have already recommended Payless Rooter to several of my dad's neighbors. read more

I've used Payless Rooter in the past and they have always been reliable and great to work with. I needed a gas line hooked up for an outdoor grill and been having issues with it. They came out to look at the situation and hook up the line. However, the grill was not getting hot. I called Payless Rooter again and what was great is they came back to troubleshoot the issue and narrowed down the situation the a temperature gage on the grill which was not even a gas problem. They went over and above to get this resolved for me. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them for their follow through and dealing with frustrated customers like me in a positive manner. read more

I called multiple sewer line cleaning companies and Payless rooter was one of the few who answered my call and the woman who answered, Amy, was friendly and pleasant to speak with. She was actually in the middle of something and asked to call me back shortly. Once she called me back, she was able to schedule me for next day service, which most of the other companies were not able to do. She said they were not able to give me a quote over the phone but that they did not charge a service fee to come out and that the technician would give me a price when he was there that would be comparable with the quotes I had received from the other companies. My wife was home at the time the technician arrived and said that he was friendly and did good work but did talk to her quite a bit. The technician resolved the issue and the price was comparable to the other companies I had received quotes from. Overall a great experience and I was impressed with their professionalism and willingness to get out to our house as quickly as they did.
