I had a very disappointing experience at Home Surplus today. My husband and I arrived around 3:10…read morePM, ready to place an order, but the customer service was completely unacceptable. There were several associates sitting at the desk engaged in personal conversations, some of which even included profanity--something that is highly unprofessional on a sales floor. We spent about 25 minutes walking around the store, clearly visible and ready to make a purchase, yet not a single employee greeted us or offered assistance. Even standing near them did not prompt any acknowledgment. It felt as though helping customers was the last thing on their minds. What made the situation worse was overhearing an inappropriate conversation between an associate and a male customer, which was not suitable for a professional retail environment. At that point, I became frustrated and decided to leave around 3:35 PM without making a purchase. No matter if a customer is spending a dollar or thousands, everyone deserves to feel valued and respected. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will not recommend this store based on this experience.

They carry a multitude of event decor for my table settings which keeps my budget-tight brides and those hosting parties within their limits. For the crafter in me, the pricing of stemware, place settings, or other table decor allows me to monogram family logos, initials or add a personal touch to my events and raises the level of elegance at or below budget. Helpful staff is always on the ready and I have never had more than a 5 minute wait to checkout and be on my way.
