BIRD DOG ROWS! STABILITY, CORE, BACK WORK! All the fun :)

Where do I start, this P4L gym is amazing! I've been to this location a few times and would rate my experience 5 stars each visit. Clean bathrooms, sanitized equipment, and new weights! Awesome energy and knowledgable trainers ~ they are extremely eager to help and will take time to teach you fundamentals if you've never seen the exercise before. They take time to listen and understand what you are striving for ~ WILL help you meet and exceed your goals, while having fun! The classes are the right amount of intensity for everyone, and you'll love the workout supersets. I'll be back again, next time I choose the music! THANK YOU COACH DAN!

I came to P4L for the run lab (Run/gait analysis and VO2 max testing). They have two locations in San Francisco- one in Mission and another at Gough. I went to the one in Gough using Uber because I don't want to look for parking at a busy street, there's plenty of metered parking along the street. As soon as I walked in inside the gym, I was greeted immediately by their staffs. Very nice people!! I met Trevor - (whom I had appointment that day) very pleasant and always had a smile on his face! He definitely made me feel more welcome in their gym. They have two very clean and organize bathroom with showers - so you can shower after a sweaty workout!! (Not all gym have showers, so this is a plus!!) They also have lockers to keep your personal belongings while you work out. I had an amazing experience with Trevor and his team. They were very knowledgeable and gave me so much information to help improve my running. They were very helpful. I learned so much about what I need to work on with my fitness and gait imbalances. I was given corrective exercises to help me improve. Overall a positive and eye opening experience. I wish I had known about them sooner! They also offer 1:1 coaching and strength training. I would definitely need to go back for this. Do I recommend coming here? Absolutely!! Specially if you're a runner like me!! Ask for Trevor! He's amazing!

Even during a pandemic, Randy continues to work hard, making sure his clients get what they need to stay sane during this crazy tough time. Randy listens, trains clients respectfully by conducting virtual workouts using at home equipment. His creativity has brought sweat and smiles. For me, Randy meets me at Kezar. We begin with warmups in the bleachers. He stands a few rows up and shouts orders (like a coach!). I then go on the track and try to hit the times that he has carefully planned by studying my aerobic and anaerobic zones. We leave the track together with workout bands, disinfectant wipes and a feeling of accomplishment. Randy himself has been an inspiration. He continues to challenge himself with time trials and we all came out to support him at his finish line. Beyond Randy, perform for life posts updates for a safe reopening, respecting city guidelines. When I couldn't find weights to buy, Brandon stepped in to lend me a few until the gym reopens. I am thankful for perform for life for keeping the endorphins alive in me during a dark time.

P4L is such a great gym, the staff is super polite, friendly and knowledgeable. The equipment is clean and new, the gym floor is clean to throughout the day. I came to this gym feeling intimidating to be trained being a trainer myself, but Melissa Yu made that go away and quickly identified what I needed to work on she gave a detailed program for goals and also a big plus is that she is also a Bodyworker so after our training sessions Melissa stretches me like if I were a professional athlete hitting every muscle group there is. I love when she uses the suction cups and Thera gun on me. I also love to box and she is a great Mitt Master because she trains with on of the best in the sport Jairo Escobar's Look at his IG he's good and she learns from him. Thanks Melissa for helping me reach my goals and more. Thanks P4L for creating a nice community you guys feel like family.

The stairmasters have been broken for some time now with the first one being broken for 2-3 months. One by one they broke & now they're all broken. I understand gym equipment can break from time to time but the fact that ALL stairmasters are broken, 30% of ellipticals are broken, a handful of treadmills, & the weight machines upstairs are missing pins, broken cables, etc is just pitiful from a gym like this. VARIOUS THINGS HAVE BEEN BROKEN FOR MONTHSSSS!!! The LEAST they could do is communicate to us what is going on & what they are doing to rectify this situation. I usually do not write reviews unless necessary to make a change to the establishment. I hope this review finds its way to someone who can do something Side note: this gym also is starting to have an issue with people hogging machines while doomscrolling on their phones between sets as they are "resting". If that grind your gears, this is a heads up. Side side note: notice how management only replies to "positive reviews"; this is a critical review from an intermediate gym goer(3 years of hypertrophy training) for some context.

About a year ago, they had a policy of onsite lane reservations, which is the right thing to do if you don't have online lane reservations. You had a clear start and end time, could plan your workout, and actually get a full swim in. For some reason, they've stopped doing that. Now you show up with no idea if you'll even get a lane, let alone finish in time to get to work. They're also allowing three or more people per lane, which is just unrealistic. Once a third person joins, it stops being a workout and turns into traffic management. You can forget about flip turns entirely. The lane speed designations don't help either. Most people are on tight schedules and aren't going to wait around for the "right" lane to open up. They also block off a lane for personal training, which is understandable, but that lane could still accommodate another swimmer. Decisions like this chip away at what's supposed to be a core service. Most pools in the city allow reservations. You can reserve a lane. Some even have a no show fee which totally works. you can't trust humans to so the right thing here because they in most cases won't. Bottom line, the lack of reservations and overcrowding make it impossible to plan a consistent, efficient swim. It turns something that should be straightforward into a daily gamble.

Jonathan (the manager) recommended him since I was looking for real results, and quickly. I'm extremely busy, so any time I spend at the gym has to count. I bought a 24-session package and trained with Greg twice a week for three months. Today I finished my last session. The results speak for themselves: I lost all 10 lbs I'd been stuck with, gained 1 lb of muscle, and lost 12.4 lbs of body fat--about a pound of fat per week. My body fat dropped from 26.1% to 19.3%. Greg is incredibly knowledgeable, disciplined, and has the perfect formula for motivating you. He pushes you just enough so you work harder each time and walk away feeling proud of what you accomplished. He's honestly the BEST coach you could ask for. By the end of our training, he made sure I had solid technique and two routines I can follow on my own. I've never been a "gym person," but now I feel confident and excited to keep working out regularly. I've also worked with Olivia for massages, and she is absolutely wonderful. She really listens, works out all my knots, and her warm personality makes every session a joy. Her work perfectly complements the workouts. Kenton and Jonathan have also been awesome--they truly go above and beyond to understand your needs and make thoughtful recommendations. This is an incredibly friendly, supportive gym. I was referred through the Four Seasons and booked spa services while in town for a week. While I paid full price and tipped accordingly, the overall quality of my services was disappointing. My facial, in particular, was not up to standard. I've had a HydraFacial before, and this experience was noticeably inconsistent. The serums that are typically left on the skin were removed, which was surprising and not in line with what the service should be. Meanwhile, my friend received a completely different (and much better) version of the same facial, including additional modalities and proper finishing--this level of inconsistency is a huge red flag. The massage was also underwhelming. The technique felt minimal and lacked intention, especially compared to my friend's experience, where she described a thorough, tension-relieving service that clearly went above and beyond. I did bring my concerns to the front desk staff before leaving, specifically about both my facial and massage. Unfortunately, the response was disappointing--they looked at each other as if unsure how to respond and offered no feedback, follow-up questions, or attempt to address the situation. At that point, I simply paid and left. (I will add that our initial encounter with the spa front desk girl who gave us a tour was exceptional and had great customer service etiquette. Sadly, she left as I was changing.) Customer service unfortunately didn't improve afterward. I inquired about Pilates Reformer sessions, and the front desk staff were less than helpful. I also followed up via email and didn't receive a response until a week later--which, again, is disappointing for a business of this caliber. Overall, between the inconsistent services, lack of accountability on-site, and delayed customer support, I left feeling that the experience did not reflect the price point or reputation. I had high hopes, but sadly, I'm not very impressed.
