Just wanted to take a moment to thank Elliot at Performance Painting for the 100% perfect paint job done on our exterior. We got Elliot's number from a neighbor, and we are thrilled that his team understands historical homes (the results show.) Great quality of work, excellent communication and always shows up on time. It's refreshing to deal with nice contractors like Elliot and his crew. As we live in a historical home, there was a great deal of old paint, damaged spots and the original cedar shake. Elliot, Jay and Joe took the time to remove all the storm windows, properly power wash, and hand clean our exterior. The paint job was done beautifully. They even repainted our mailbox and street sign and cleaned our roof just to make sure we have that new "old house" look. As promised, they also cleaned up after the job was done. Elliot and a coworker painted the inside of my home a few months ago and I am very happy with the results! It took two days for them to paint the inside (as opposed to the WEEKS it would have taken me on my own!) I was very pleased with their demeanor and effort to work around my schedule. I have done a lot of home remodeling work and have have hired and fired many contractors. I have used Elliot of Performance Painting for several jobs, both exterior and interior, and he is one of the best painters out there. First, he is one of the nicest and friendliest guys you would ever want to meet. He always responds promptly when you call him and shows up when he says he will -- something you can't say that about many contractors. He definitely knows paint, and what works best. Best of all, his prices are very reasonable. The first job Elliot did for me sold me on him right away. I was living out of state at the time and needed to paint the exterior of my house in Royal Oak in late November, where my daughter lived. He knew it was going to turn cold fast, so he went over there between other jobs and got it done right away, did a beautiful job and was very kind to my daughter. I called Performance Painting to do another job when I was out of town on an old Grosse Pointe house that needed a lot of wallpaper removed before paint could be applied. Elliot and his crew worked fast and did a beautiful job on both the wallpaper removal and the painting. Elliot also rescued me in another situation where a contractor I had hired to do a kitchen remodel and paint wood cupboards, failed to finish the job and really botched what they did do. Performance Painting made the kitchen in this older house new again: lots of nail holes filled, a large area of sheetrock patched, sanding the walls (four different historical paint colors in various parts of the room), priming, and two coats of paint. It looks beautiful. They covered the kitchen floor and put drop cloths all the way to the front door, cleaned up each day, and kept me fully informed on work progress. Elliot's professionalism, combined with how friendly and easy to work with he is, made me wish that I needed all the rooms in the house painted! My phone call with the owner was one of the rudest interactions I have had in a long time. The owner only takes business on referral, which I was. However, the extremely offensive and unapologetic demeanor of the owner was enough to convince me to choose not to bring him out for a quote. I'm goin to have to disagree w Susan's comments below because the experience I had was the exact opposite,the owner answered the phone on the 2nd ring and was very friendly and courteous,he scheduled an estimate and was out looking at job the very next day. Performance painting in my honest opinion was completely professional from start to finish and completed work in a very timely manner without any compromise in the work quality which was top notch. I definetely WOULD recommend them for any of your interior/exterior painting needs. Not to be a Negative Nancy(Like Susan below) but i have come to realize alote of times people who work on referral are usually the best of the best and are in very high demand.
