They left her unattended, did not attend to a wound which ended up stage 3. I was lied to of what was going on with her. She was coughing about 1 week. I kept asking what is being done, what does chest X-ray show? I was told she is fine, xray is fine, they were giving her something for the cough. She had a bad nose bleed. Was told it was from oxygen! Then told she has sepsis infection. Mom was then taken to ER and was told it was due to sepsis. ER stated it was severe pneumonia. She couldn't breathe and had to be placed on ventilator! Well my mom did not make it! She passed away 2 weeks later, never able to get off ventilator! Had this facility done their job and took care of her for rehabilitation she would still be here today!

The care at Encompass from the nursing staff was prompt and very caring towards my husband. He fractured his pelvis and hip and required a lot of assistance at first. The PT department quickly showed him how to navigate his injury and become mobile again! Can't say enough about their expertise! All call lights were promptly answered by any team member who was walking by and this was incredible! The food was also good which pleased my husband as well. However, Lorena in case management is a GEM! Things kind of got confusing as we were ready to leave as none of the main items we needed at home (bedside commode, wheelchair) were ordered for us. However, Lorena (not our original case manager) stepped in and solved the problem efficiently within 24 hours. Her husband had to keep calling about changing the bandage until finally a nurse came and changed it after saying he's going to call 911 if someone didn't come and change the bandage. Poor listening skills at times as well as low levels of empathy. Hopefully all of these folks have since moved on or have been relocated. Nurses and attending CNA's were great. Attending doctor at time was also good. One medical employee (since moved on) openly complained to us about the constant changes in management and their disconnect and lack of understanding with the medical staff. Big "friendly" pitch for the facility from management gal when she visited us at the hospital and then once we get to the facility, admittance process was grossly unorganized and chaotic. Took ages to get copies of papers that were signed. We would see the "pitch gal" in the hall almost daily while family member was a resident and she never looked once at us when we would see her in the hall or bother speaking with us again. Her job was done. Get a person in a bed and move on to the next patients she needed to pitch to. Facility was oversold for what it was. We did not use them a second or third time when rehab was needed later and did not recommend the facility to friends or neighbors. Can be incredibly windy at front entrance, which is poor design for a rehab facility for elderly visitors or anyone with movement issues.
