Bought a gown for an evening wedding at a well known, national chain, bridal store. The wedding…read morewas in 3 weeks and I didnt want to buy a dress too soon in case it was canceled due to COVID. The dress fit very well and really only needed about an inch or so hemmed at the bottom to keep it from dragging on the floor. The staff made a big deal about, well the tailor is very busy, you need an appt for a fitting, yada yada. The cost for a simple hem was $60, plus the time to go back in for an appt, and because it was only 3 weeks away, and extra $25 to rush it. What a scam! Needless to say I bought the dress, looked on Yelp and found Penfield Tailors. No appt necessary, I stopped in, tried the dress on, Bulent measured the dress and quoted $20 to do the hem and he would have it done next week. Lovely space, private dressing room (he even had a pair of heels in case they were needed) and he was friendly & relaxed. He even helped zip me lol. Fast forward, one week later, we stop in, the dress is ready. I tried it on with my heels and it was the perfect length (which means I won't trip on it when dancing).
