He told me it would take a week I explained to him that I needed them for a Tuesday meeting He told me to bring him in on saturday and he would have him ready the monday by 5 p m Arrived on Monday afternoon, it approximately 3 PM.He had them ready and they are perfect, highly recommend give. Honestly the guy lost my business and my respect upon walking in the store. I walked in and I greeted him first and he said hello back but just looked at me awkwardly.. so I began to let him no I was looking to get some jeans altered he walked around and pointed to the jeans and said "what is that supposed to be" I said there JEANS with and he quickly said "oh I see someone else worked on them there's nothing I can do with them" and I just turned around and left because I just needed my waist area fixed and he didn't bother to ask or show any concern anyways. Its been about 2 years since I've been here. Upon entering I found the store to be arranged slightly differently that I remembered. Also, a new face greeted me! This used to be run and owned by an elderly couple (awe, cute, I know rright)... but I've learned they since retired. The new owner previously worked for Hickey Freeman. If you do your homework you'll note that they are currently the company in charge of USA Uniforms for the next OLYMPICS!!!! So, this guy knows his way around a well tailored suit! They are pretty fast here, but I always like to give 3 weeks lee-way just to be safe. Heads up- They only take Cash or Check!!! read more

I was looking for a tailor who could do a fast turn around order for me as I noticed that a pair of pants that I wanted to take on vacation with me had a broken zipper, so I googled "quick tailors near me" and this shop came up in my results. They happened to be fairly close, so I stopped in. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. He said that he could get the job done in the timeframe that I needed, so I was happy to give him the business. When I went to pick them up, I was pleasantly surprised by the price and the quality of the replacement zipper; my pants were freshly pressed and the sewing was perfect. Huge fan of this place! The shop is located on East Henrietta with parking right outside the door. The owner/tailor is amazing, he is so good at making alterations. When you walk in they make sure to go over exactly what you want done and how much it will cost.... definitely that old school feel of a mom and pop shop. I was on a time crunch to have so changes to a bridal dress and not only did he work a miracle for me but he had everything done in just a few days. The dress came out perfect, you couldn't tell that work had been done on it! He really works with the customer, so nice to experience that! I have since gone back for shorting my dress pants...tough being short. He always hides the hem lines. They only except cask or check...not a big deal! read more

The owner is a professional and considerate gentleman. Just be sure to clearly specify exactly what you want from the beginning. He will tell you bluntly but politely if it's possible or not. I highly recommend Istanbul Tailor. The owner/tailor is very good at his job, and everything is extremely reasonably priced. Here's a breakdown of the work I got done: - One dress (straps had to be shortened) - three pairs of pants (all had to be shortened and the waists adjusted) ~ $20 each - one suit jacket (taken in a bit, and sleeves shortened) Altogether, it cost $103 for the entire set. It was a steal--and it was done very well. He takes credit card! Also, sometimes he works other hours than is listed. I called in, and was able to come after it is supposed to be closed on a weekend. I am absolutely a fan. Their prices are way better than other places I have visited. To get my Jacket cuff's shortened, it cost $22 And to get my silk blazer taken in it cost $34. They only take Cash or Check!!! That's the only bummer, but I brought in my jackets on a Tuesday and asked, if possible, if they could finish by Friday the same time, and it was no problem! Phew!!! I brought numerous dresses and pants here before I moved to Los Angeles three years ago, and the craftsmanship was so superb I decided to return for a quick alteration when I was in town for a wedding. I needed the hem of my jumper let down a few inches so I could wear heeled boots--but here's the thing, my tailor didn't just let the hems down and press the jumper, he added a strip of fabric inside along the seam to make the hem stronger (and honestly much, much prettier.) I didn't ask him to do this extra work. He did it of his own volition! It's GORGEOUS work, and he improved the quality of one of my favorite garments with his phenomenal skill. Not only this, he did it all in 24 hours and charged me only a modest fee. I urge you: if you want professional tailoring or alterations, do yourself a favor!
