Despite being the *actual author* of the OREF forms that allow legal real estate transactions between parties without lawyers he *failed to correctly fill them out and file them*. This cost me the sale of a building the owners had agreed to sell months before in an amicable sale he was writing the contract for. He did not return calls or emails and had no counter person paralegal or support staff to address emergencies. As a small business owner and first time home buyer on a live work project this was the single biggest investment and dream of my life and livelihood and he did not show up on the day he was to file the contract. No one could reach him. The sellers thought it was shady confusing behavior because he had been in contact the evening before and they took another offer that arose in his absence for less money than I was offering. What an absolute nightmare to have trusted someone so uncommitted badly resourced and shamefully negligent at his profession. It was a done deal and should have been extremely easy to accomplish. He was in no way accountable for this mess. The next property of similar use cost more than $150,000 additional. Steer clear of this lackluster lawyer and save yourself time money and heartbreak !

Based on the information and confidence he provided during that initial phone call, we decided to move forward with him. Unfortunately, we were led on for nearly two years before going to trial. Throughout that time, Jeff repeatedly told us that we would "get something" from the case. He continued contacting us by phone and email asking for additional information about the situation, and we continued being billed for his time. Nearly a year after the lawsuit began, we met with him once to go over what to expect with the arbitration process. As someone with no prior experience suing anyone or dealing with attorneys, I relied heavily on my attorney to properly prepare and guide us. Unfortunately, that meeting left me with even more questions and did not make me feel prepared for what was ahead. Jeff then sent a junior attorney to handle the arbitration. In our experience, she appeared inexperienced and unprofessional. She essentially sat in the room with us during the arbitration, and we were billed for her time and presence, which was very concerning to us. After nearly two years of legal bills, we finally went to trial. Unfortunately, Jeff did not appear prepared or knowledgeable about our case. During the trial, he stumbled through his presentation and became frustrated. At one point, the judge even told him that he was repeating himself. On the second day of trial, the judge issued a directed verdict, meaning the judge ruled in favor of the other side because our side had not presented enough evidence to support our claim. The outcome was extremely devastating, especially after being told at the beginning that we had a "strong case." After nearly two years, substantial legal fees, stress, and time invested in this case, we were left feeling that we had not received the preparation, guidance, or representation we expected from our attorney.
