It is Father's Day but it wasn't terribly busy inside. We arrived and ordered around 4:00 and food took way over 30-40 min to be served. My chicken fried steak was a bit strange, being not crispy and a bit mushy inside. The other meals were fine though. The deal for pie and drink is good but not as good as it used to be. But, we got the pie to go for $2 more by adding it onto our meal with drink. Can't wait to have my peanut butter silk pie later! It is clean in the restaurant and very open feeling. You definitely don't feel crowded in. Our server was friendly but after working a double shift, she was obviously on the tired side. The prices of the food just don't seem to be justified by the quality. It's a shame because we'd visit more often if it wasn't the same price as Texas Roadhouse for us. read more

My son and I went to eat at Perkins tonight. Our waitress Tasha was horrible tonight, not only did she not ask us how we wanted our eggs. She said "She assumed that we just wanted them scrambled". I alsoI had to wait 15 minutes for a drink refill. She seemed like she was high on drugs. We actually saw the manager on duty more than our waitress. Then we got the bill and there was 3 soda charges for 2 people. On travel for an international event and stopped for breakfast. The service was great as well as the food.

We don't have a Perkins near us anymore and were excited to see one here while we are traveling. Sooo glad we did. The food was just as we remembered it. The beef stroganoff was very tasty and my husband's chicken salad was delightful. I had Heath cheesecake for dessert was super tasty and my husband had lemon meringue pie. Oh my goodness, amazing!! I took one star off because the waitress never came back after we got our food, so we never got a single drink refill. Everything else was great. They are clean and very covid aware. So I change my order, now I'm told they don't have hollandaise but they're making it so it should be ready w my food. Food comes, no hollandaise, they couldn't make it in the 40 minutes we were there. It came w sausage patties instead of links, why, of course they were out of links. It would've been easier to swallow if they would've tried to make it right, throw in a pumpkin muffin or piece of pie, instead was given a $46 bill for 2 people to have breakfast. My husband and I went to Perkins for Lunch on Tuesday July 16th we waited quite a while for the waitress to acknowledge us. Trish the hostess was very kind and asked if the waitress had taken our drink order I said no but we were fine she offered (which was very nice as she was busy) the waitress finally came no hi how are you took her pad and pen and said " what do you want to drink" I told her we were ready to order our food as well. I said I would like toast she commented white or wheat I then took it that was all they had so I ordered wheat my husband ordered and asked do you have sourdough she told him yes after he finished I said oh i didn't think you had sourdough as you didn't mention it to me. She then looked at me and gave me a go to @#$$ look . My husband ordered his potatoes extra crispy which he did not get, she probably didn't even tell the cook also the toast was not sourdough it was Texas toast. She delivered our food no response just sat it down walked off never asked if we needed anything else which we would have ordered pie but was never given the opportunity. I have waited tables in very fine establishments and would have been booted out the door if I waited on a table the way she did . Trish the hostess was very kind and refunded some of our bill which in turn I gave to her for being so nice and understanding. Didn't gpet the waitresses name not sure if she had a name tag or not but she had red hair, restaurant and hostess and food were great service was beyond terrible. read more

I was really unhappy with Perkins when they were at their older location here in Dubuque. Both the food and service were terrible. Since reopening though, the restaurant is a lot nicer and the service is so much better. The food though could still use some work. I ordered the chicken & mushrooms with asparagus. The asparagus was burned, the chicken was tough, chewy and over seasoned. My girlfriend got pancakes that were raw in the middle, still nearly fluid. I'll give them another try, but I'm going to order something different and decide if they're worth coming back to them. If the food is as bad next time, i don't think I'll be coming back after that. read more

Coming to Perkins for breakfast was a terrific way to begin the day. The place was busy when my lady friend and I got there. Yet we were seated immediately. Within seconds the waitress was at our table. She did a great job of checking back with us. We always had plenty of coffee to drink. Our breakfast didn't take long to arrive. It was fantastic! So much food I couldn't finish mine. The restaurant is new and looks incredible! Even with the steady crowd, it was kept very clean. We left with no complaints. read more

I've missed Perkins and am really glad to see them back at a new location. The restaurant seems a bit nicer than the old building, it seemed a bit brighter inside than the old building did. The Farmer Omelet with Hash Browns and Pancakes really hit the spot and left me feeling nice and full. The staff was quite friendly there too. read more

This location in particular has got to be the worst Perkins I've ever seen. The staff definitely dont look like they have good hygiene and the food for some reason tasted like chemicals twice now. Ordered over easy eggs and were wayyyyy over cooked. Service is terrible, and the wait for food is way too long being that this place has been almost completely empty both times I've been to this location. Someone needs to show these people how to act, serve, and cook. Absolutely terrible. read more

It took a good 10 minutes before they took our drink order and another 30 minutes before we got our 2 sandwiches and the restaurant wasn't even half full. The cheese was burned to the bread in some places and half of the fries were burned..... I was not impressed. I ordered 2 dinners and pie through ubereats delivery for my parents for Father's Day today. It said estimated 4:35 delivery. I let my mom know it was coming. Then it changed to 5:15, then 5:35, we called and the woman that answered said it was a pick up order and it was ready. She put the manager on the phone and I had already paid through the app. He said he would call Uber to get the driver. 5 minutes later I saw the order was cancelled on the app. I called my mom and told her it didn't work out. read more

Perkins is usually a "safe" restaurant with our kids, so it was the obvious choice when we had a family outing. Firstly, the restaurant was completely empty, yet they decided to seat us RIGHT outside the kitchen where it was loud & staff could be heard yelling profanities.. with my 2 year old in plain sight. I asked to be moved but wasn't met with hospitality, but nasty looks & mumbles under the servers breath. We absolutely should've just walked out then, but we were foolish & stayed. It took FOREVER for our food & drinks, the muffins were dry & seemed very old, and our customer service experience was by far the worst. If you should be so unlucky to get an outrageously tall, skinny male server... RUN. Just don't even order. You'll probably regret it. Stopped in for breakfast and was very disappointed in the service. It was awful. They were understaffed and the staff they had were SLOW. Many empty tables but a long wait to be seated 20+ minutes. After being seated we waited 20 minutes to get coffee and water. Food was okay but the only staff member that seemed to be capable was the young man at the cash register who was able to locate our bill (because we got tired of waiting for the bill to be brought to our table) and checked us out quickly. Slow service. No one came to our table after the host took and brought our drinks. We waited nearly 15 minutes. Then the waitress (who was clearly new) came over and apologized. The other waitress who appeared to be training her was kind of rude. She was yelling in the kitchen and basically bossing the new one around and ignored us as she served tables oh both sides of us. Apparently they must alternate tables as they come in versus serving to a generalized area. This makes no sense. The host should be alternating where he sits people. Food was decent. Beverages took forever to refill. Won't be back for awhile. The waitress did comp half our meal without us even asking or complaining so that was nice. Maybe we will go here again with a group. One waitress rudely stormed off when we told her we had already given our drink order, and proceeded to loudly ask the manager why she gave her table away. This resulted in us waiting 20 minutes to be assigned the correct waitresses so that we could place our food order. After ordering our food, our waitress never came back to check on us -- we had to ask a different waitress for glasses of water in addition to the drinks we ordered. This is ridiculous given that the workers were hanging out in a group behind the front counter, casually talking. The water was never refilled throughout our entire visit. When the food arrived, a (different) waitress accidentally dropped half the food on the floor, splattering food onto us. The manager noticed and laughed while saying, "did you have a spill?" When the second half of our food was delivered, it was so rock hard that it was barely edible. AWFUL service and food. read more
