We came here for some food and to try some new beers, and it turned out to be trivia night as well. We were late for the trivia so didn't formally play, but we did have fun answering questions anyway. We got the big flight of beers to share, which has all of their beers and seltzers - like 19 different kinds. Yeah, that was a lot, but we didn't finish them all. But we did enjoy them! The place is beautiful with a very industrial brewery look to it. The staff could not have been nicer. Seriously, awesome folks. We did get one of their pizzas, which was very good. There was no servers during our visit so all drinks had to be ordered from the bar. The beers were good and they had a nice variety of styles. Super cute brewery in Dubuque. The space is massive an has garage style windows that were open during the cool fall day. I got their kanga wu hazy ipa which was delicious and super smooth. I chose this brewery because they provided free parking to the Brewers game. I was pretty packed when I got there and sat at the bar. I had a sampler of beers that mostly scored in the high 80s in my book but try their sour...those were really good. They have a large back patio and a band was setting up but I left to catch the game. Bad thing is they were closed when I rode the shuttle back to get my car. read more

The BBQ joint they have inside is awesome - blackened chicken sandwich was on point, spicy with the Cajun aioli. In town visiting and came upon this place while walking around town. My boyfriend loves a beer flight and this place offered a flight of 18! Which was every beer they offered on tap. He couldn't have been more excited. Being from Wisconsin we had to represent. So we took on the challenge. I do enjoy trying different types of beer as well so flights are always a great way to do so. The brewery is really nice the inside offers lots of seating with big doors that can be open to the outside. They also have a wonderful outdoor area with picnic tables to enjoy your beer and food. We decided to get lunch as well while we were trying all of the beers. They have a great menu and the food was phenomenal! We got the pulled pork quesadilla and the smoked chicken nachos. The people are nice and the beer is pretty good but overall Dimensional has this "manufactured" feel to it. Rather than trying to be something new and different, they developed the space with faux materials that try to give it an old building feel. I guess it is okay, especially if you've never had that experience, but for most people it probably resembles many other micro breweries they have been to. Great brewery tucked away in downtown Dubuque. Had the Dubuque Pilsner and very good. Plenty of seating inside and out. Great service. Loved the fries and pretzel bites good. Windows were open and all-in-all a great experience. Also liked the beer selection...quite extensive. Only negative and not a big deal but parking is somewhat limited. We had a decent couple of their 5 beer flights. I love the idea of the flights with every beer, just not enough time while traveling through. Hop a veli was my favorite IPA and I did end up with a crowler but it didn't do the frothy tap version justice. The fruit beers were a good touch but I think they may have had too much coriander? in some cases. Not sure about the after taste on some. Their best quality might be their style and design of their tap room. The location could use some more parking. It was tough to find a spot. Had a great time here! Walked in and not sure what we wanted to try, they said for $30 you can try "The Big D"! What?! What's that?! You sample 14 beers (or however many they currently have on tap, which was 18 when we went) for $30. That made each 5oz glass $1.67. We went for it! They gave us a menu to sample them in order 1-18 so we knew what we were having. Some were great and some just weren't our thing (coffee stouts in particular). We did however find that we LOVED the Cherry Fluff! We were sad they didn't have any for us to take home though. Food here was okay. Expensive for what you get. Was looking forward to lunch with customer but it was a bust! Nice interior and design but terrible food and service. Menu is limited, no one brought drinks, no one checked on us and we had to tip before the service; but what a regret! I gave a generous +20% and received NO service so person could stay on their phone!!! My sandwich was burned (see picture) and his pulled pork was 'mediocre' and 'uninspired'. This is a really hard one to review. I'm always down for trying new breweries and know it's difficult to become a great business doing the brew thing. First off- the beer! Amazing! That would get 5 stars had that been the only experience to rate.... The service...well. I've had better. Seat yourself. Ok we can do that. We sat at the bar, right up front. No hiding. Boom! Customers! 3 people behind the bar. Not pouring. Not making any drinks. On opposite end of the bar. 1 or 2 on their phones. After about 5 min or so a very sweet young man acknowledged us. He was not originally behind the bar when we sat down. (Might have been out on the patio with customers). I'll give him 5 stars! Boyfriend asked how much the Big D was(18 beer flight) and ended up ordering that! Because of lack of staff the business had, you had to go to the counter, in front of the kitchen window to place your food order. No biggie we can do that! Ordered 2 simple appetizers(at least we thought so). Told it would be 45min to an hour. Ehhh. For appi's? We were going to a concert and would be late but didn't mind being a little late... Another side note- we had a view of the kitchen window and noticed only one guy in the back cooking. Place was busy but it seemed he literally cooked 1 ticket at a time. *gotta muti task dude!* Glad we had the long flight of booze! 1-1/2 later we received our pretzel bites and blackened chicken nachos. Side note- out of blackened chicken so we were able to get pulled pork. Pretzel bites were just that- pretzel bites. Mediocre. Sauce served was a spicy mustard and cheese. More than likely heated up in microwave. Nachos- unimpressed. Salsa on the side tasted like Pace Picante. Pile of tortilla chips with all things piled on top. No layering. Minimal cheese. Jalapeño tasted store bought, from a jar. We should have ordered the delicious beer and left. The flight! My favs were Froot Cup, Jorts Weather & Jacked Up: Sangria. Spent the weekend in Galena, Illinois and Hubby and I wanted to try something different so we drove to Dubuque, Iowa. We stopped in based on recommendations from a few waiters in Galena so you would think that your experience is as good as they say. Quite disappointed in what I thought was going to be excellent service and excellent food. When we walked in, you sat wherever you want, and then we had to go to the bar and order our drinks. They have some very strong sweet stouts available right now (my fave) alone with excellent IPAd and fruity concoctions. No they're not cheap but really good beer rarely is. Phenomenal! Located down the street from our hotel we decided to walk over and give this brewery a try. We sat down, ordered our beers and enjoyed conversing with the bartenders. We also found out we were sitting next to the owners and ended up having a great conversation with the wife! She gave her suggestions as to what was good and even explained how some of the brews were made. I had a sour that was "peach cobbler" and was amazing! We were told to make the beer the brewmasters actually put graham crackers, cinnamon, peaches, etc in to make the flavors. If you go you can actually order a "Big D" which is a flight of all the beers on tap! They were trying to set a record the day we were there so it was fun to see the progress. Best BBQ in the area BY FAR! Rolling through Dbq from Denver I had the delight of trying the burnt ends at the Demensional brewing co/Flatted fifth. The tips were cooked perfectly, the bbq sauce was an excellent compliment to perfectly prepared brisket tips. Paired with the corn bread & honey left me wanting more ..... I'm not hanging out in Dubuque, IA very frequently, I've been here a grand total of one time even, but trust me go to Dimensional. Their sour beers are fantastic! So are their IPAs! My friend had a porter they made too and it was delicious (and I hate porters because they make me want to go to sleep). Even bought a can to take back to Chicago because dayuumm. And this is all coming from someone who grew up in a microbrewery community. Only downside is no kitchen. They have snacks though (as do all microbreweries in Dubuque?). read more

My girlfriend and I stopped here on a very hot Saturday, we walked here after visiting the nearby farmers market. We had two flights and although most of the beers were good, there was a coffee stout that was spectacular. We had the burnt ends nad pulled pork and both dishes were solid, though was hoping the ends would be a bit more flavorful.
