Ordered delivery while in town for business. The BLT was good but the chicken soup was terrible. It was so salty (and I do like my food salted...but this was ridiculously salted that you could not even eat it. It was like eating spoonfuls of salt. I even considered watering it down with some hot water because it was "raise your blood pressure" salty). The dessert was really good though. read more

Best pancakes and home fries. Perkins never disappoints. Then there are the delicious pies to choose from!

I was expecting not to enjoy the food but went there at the request of my mother. But I was wrong, the food was excellent! Huge selection of options to choose from. The wait staff was patient with us and came by to check on us a few times before we were ready to order. Portion size was perfect. We ordered a variety of different items and they were all great. We had a chicken fried steak and eggs, strawberry French toast, a chicken salad sandwich, and a kids pancake meal. read more

My fiancé and I arrived at Perkins last evening when he'd said that he wasn't very hungry due to a bit of a headache, so he returned to the car. He told me to go ahead and that he would just rest his eyes for a bit, so I did. While dining, the hostess that I recognized as usually being on duty since we were regular customers approached me saying, "I noticed that the gentleman who's usually with you went back to the car. Is it ok if I take him a beverage? It's on me." I was completely taken by surprise, and without thinking said, "He really likes the diet ginger ale." Once I finished and returned to the car, he thanked me for the ginger ale. I told him that it wasn't sent by me and proceeded to explain what actually occurred. He was more than a little put off by this. Once I thought about it and saw his reaction, the hostess had way overstepped her bounds. She had no clue as to why he returned to the car. What if he had to make or receive an important call? Why was he singled out? I'm sure others had returned to their cars or someone else at waited for someone at some point in time. I contacted the restaurant through the contact link on their website and was in touch with an assistant manager this morning, who said he would call the manager, who would then call the hostess prior to calling me. One of the first things he said was that he had no idea why she would do this and that she's got a boyfriend. Well, boyfriend or not, both my fiancé and I felt as if she were hitting on him, which was not appreciated. She knows for a fact that we are together as a couple. The food is good, but ladies, hold onto your men! For goodness sake, EVER leave them in the car unattended! read more

I personally worked at this establishment for around 8 months. With full confidence I can say, the employees (such as servers and hostesses) aren't the problem, it the horrible management. From screaming fights in the kitchen leading to crying and managers talking crap about their staff to their other staff, it's a hot mess! Nowadays good help is hard to find and it makes it worse when you are beaten down for months by your coworkers. We had people get hired and stay for a week before they quit because they knew it was pure chaos. The only thing that kept me there was being 15-16 years old, you don't wanna look like a job hopper! Not only that, management doesn't enforce things like wearing gloves handling food or dumping out old coffee before giving it to another table. If you go there it's often not to hard to see the whispers and the frustration. You would think after working at Perkins for over 30 years you would learn how to handle the stress, trust me, management didn't learn. Sundays after church it often becomes busy, and there is screaming and walking out and even customers becoming irritated! Well, I moved here from California and I understand that the restaraunts wont be near the same to what im used too but damn! How can they mess up an order explained in basic english and it was literally as simple as it gets. Theyb when we picked up the food it was absolutely no good at all. One of the most HORRIBLE restaurant service experiences in my life! Food was expensive but tasty but also VERY slow. Waitress response was also very slow following seating. Menus where in place at seating but NO drinks were offered until food order. Food order was not complete and never saw waitress so had to go to front counter to ask for service. Check was not delivered either, had to inquire at front counter. Not a single explanation or apology offered for lack of service. Will never eat here again. Linda is horrible!...waited 20 min for someone to notice us and take our drink order...she never came back!.. 20 min more we told the hostess Linda...she came over to our table to yell at us on how our server has every other table in the place and is making all the drinks....meanwhile the other server has taken our neighbors order and is delivering it already...who has arrived after us....now I'm snapping due to the hostess stern demeanor on informing us we mean nothing... I. Customer should not wait 40 min to get their drinks ordered..not delivered, just ordered. 2. Hostess should never yell at a customer... Service was rude to mediocre at best from the moment we walked in from hostess to server to bus girl. Server apologized for taking so long and blamed the hostess for being new. Staff were arguing out in the open on the floor. Server did know the price of a side egg or a side of hashbrowns. Bacon tasted sour and bad. Server admitted that the chicken tortilla soup was microwaved. Watched server(not cooking staff) use his hands to put a cherry on top of a sundae of which server didn't even know they served. I travel thru central Wis. now and then. Perkins is usually a stop for me. It is what it is. Perkins are usually a fine place and this one is no different. Nice menu selection, great staff and Wi-Fi too. read more

This particular Perkins location has horrible service unless you get one of the 2 decent servers. The food is fine but you have to wait forever to get seated (even when empty tables are clearly visible) and then once you do get seated, you have to wait forever for your food. We only go if we really want something they have otherwise we go elsewhere. read more

I came to Marshfield for work and had lunch at Perkins today. The place was clean, the employees were friendly and attentive (our server was Kayla) and the food was good. It wasn't the most amazing lunch I ever had, but for the type of restaurant it is (family breakfast and lunch) it was great. I would definitely go there again, in fact I probably will while I'm still here for business. read more

Their pancakes are okay but just. The coffee is bitter and they serve unripe fruit (melons) or overripe grapes in their fruit dish. Wish there were better breakfast options in Marshfield. read more

Food was good. Service was very slow. Food was mixed up half on my plate, half on my husband's: they had it almost all there. Didn't get it all but told that's how it comes now. Pointed out on the menu as I was leaving what all the menu item was to include and she said she was sorry I was right. We always have great service at this Perkins. The best time to go is lunch/brunch in my opinion. Coffee is hot and food comes relatively fast. When we were there last, a family and their 3 kids made a horrific mess and the waitress smiled each time to help them clean it up. read more
