Five stars all the way! Such a cute restaurant. We had a large group and our server was so friendly and got all of our food orders right (some of my family has dietary restrictions). The sandwiches are delicious. I like that you can pick the type of bread you want. The wheat and 9 grain breads were yummy. The sandwiches have a great combination of meats, mayos and veggies. Try the Lazy Boy and Spindle. I also like the multiple choices for a sandwich side. The side salad was good. The beef cabbage soup was amazing. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good quality food. I stopped in the other day for lunch after not being there in about a year and loved to see the new updates which includes a counter you can dine at. A really great use of their space. I sat at the counter and chatted with the owner for awhile. They added a few alcoholic options and what looks like a few new items to the menu, but all the classics remain. Walked in at 10AM on a Sunday and was surprised to find an open table. Staff service was amazing, food was delicious, and the overall setting was enjoyable. A very cozy downtown spot with friendly service, a nice menu with many breakfast and lunch options, but sadly only average food. I ordered an omelette with hash browns. The potatoes proved to be the star of the plate - perfectly crunchy on the outside, hot and delicious. The omelette wasn't actually an omelette but rather a disc of overcooked eggs with fillings in the middle like a taco and a slice of cheese on the top. Overall, not very exciting. My companion, though, had an excellent turkey reuben with nicely smoked turkey and a tasty toasted marble rye. The side of "chili" was just odd - more like a watery vegetable soup with beans. We got there a little after 12 so maybe the lunch rush had died down, but we were immediately seated and served. There's a ton of seating with large tables so out small group of 4 easily got a spot. Would definitely be able to accommodate 6 people though at most tables. I'd call ahead if any larger than 8 though. Service was excellent. My iced tea arrived swiftly and tasty. Went here on a Friday for lunch and did takeout. It was great to see all of the waitresses wearing a face mask and all of the guests were spaced pretty far apart. We were even spaced from the rest of the guests while ordering at the counter. We ordered the Wrapped Chair and the Lazy Boy, both with salads and Dijon mustard vinaigrette dressing. The Wrapped Chair was just what I wanted on a hot day! Good balance of turkey to veggies and sauce. I did get the ranch cream cheese on the side because I'm always worried of there being to much dressing in wraps, but I think it would have been fine had I left it in. Great flavor in the ranch cream cheese! We even ended up saving to use on other things later. The Lazy Boy was a nice variation on a club sandwich. It had a good crunch, but could maybe have had a little less butter on the bread. The sprouts were definitely one of the highlights though. We were also pleased that there were sprouts on the side salad. Overall, great place to grab lunch. The food came out very quick and the waitress was super accommodating asking if we needed silverware and giving suggestions on dressings. We will definitely go back if we are in the area again! Was looking for a good brunch place in Stevens Point and found this place on Yelp. Fantastic place with great Wisconsin decor and homey vibes! Our waitress was fantastic the entire time we were there and was super attentive and friendly along with the young man she was training. Just an awesome lady that made the whole experience wonderful! We all had different dishes and everyone loved what they got. My wife got the breakfast dish with the very weird and funny spelling and absolutely loved it! It had potatoes, onions, peppers, cheese and she said it was awesome although she mentioned that it would have been even better with a splash of hollandaise sauce. I'll bet they would add that if you asked them! They were very accommodating about getting everything right! I had the Reuben sandwich and it was perfect! Just the right amount of meat, cheese, and sauerkraut. It could have used just a touch more thousand island dressing but I asked for some and added it myself for the PERFECT Reuben! All in all a wonderful experience with great food, awesome service, and straight forward and easy pricing on everything! The staff is super friendly and it is truly local and homemade- even my root beer was a local bottled libation.... My husband enjoyed a cup of barley soup followed by chicken pesto bowl - fresh made pesto of course and completed his lunch with a gigantic pumpkin bar- what a delectable combination. The hot coffee was refreshed on a frequent basis and the cups are branded for the store and we took one home to remember our new favorite stop when in Stevens Point! I am a vegetarian and have Celiac's so GF is a must.... I had several options to choose from but couldn't pass up the wild rice/craisin/walnut/greens bowl with homemade vinaigrette to which I added sliced avocado- so satisfying and lovely in the bowl! This place was recommended to us for their lunch. We ended up here around 10am so my husband got the Monte Christo sandwich and I got an omlette. We decided that both were things we could make at home, and maybe even better, and therefore we were a bit disappointed. My omlette was chalk-full of sausage, hash browns, and green peppers which I greatly appreciated but the pepper Jack cheese was a slice just laid on top and melted (sorta shortcut looking). It was greatly lacking anything special or standout, albeit it was fresh tasting. Coffee was bountiful, waitstaff was friendly, and loved the casual and warm, welcoming feel of the place overall. I have come here soooo many times throughout my lifetime, as I have lived in Stevens Point most of my life. Typically I LOVE coming here for breakfast or early lunch, but I had a sub par experience today. The food was fine and the atmosphere was good as usual, but the waitstaff was not very inviting. Our hostess threw our menus on the table and walked away, and I overheard complaints about her from newer tables that were sat behind us- of which were unaware they were even sat because of how she quickly threw the menus down and walked away without saying anything. Our waitress was alright, but very rarely checked in on us and forgot a few things we had asked for. If the waitstaff were friendlier, we definitely would've enjoyed ourselves more. read more

While we were placing our food order, the server literally stopped us mid sentence and said she was being paged and had to go get food. 20 mins later, she showed back up to finish our food order. Food arrived. I ordered pancakes. She didn't bring the butter and syrup. After quite a bit of waiting, we had to go to the counter to get the syrup where I could eat my breakfast. For it being 11am, not busy, service shouldn't have been an issue. On top of that, $1 service charge to pay with a card on a $25 order. I've been here several times and this was the worst experience I've ever had there. I'm not sure I'd return for poor service and overpriced bacon. read more
