Service was terrible waited 15 mins to even get water then waited another 45 mins to get our food. And they gave me the wrong order.

Absolutely the worst dining experience in my entire life. 10 minutes to be seated with my 91 year old mother. And no customers in front of us. Waitress was trying her best. we did tip Her. It took an hour and 20 minutes for our food to be delivered. We ordered 1 hamburger it was burnt on one side, 1 tangler burger cheese was not melted and was moldy. Sent it back, it was returned same burger with new piece of cheese. I ordered chicken fried steak and mashed taters. That were all cold. 3 pieces of carmel apple pie. Similar to Shannon's experience down below. Came here for lunch. Wasn't super busy. Our server seemed oblivious. He was a young gentleman. We waited almost 10 minutes to get our drinks. Took our food order 10 minutes after we got our drinks. It's now been over 45 minutes since we ordered our food and it's still not out yet. Not sure if they are short-staffed or what. Wish I would have looked at reviews of this place before we swung through here. Definitely won't be back. Update: Finally got my food. Several mistakes wrong with my order. Sent it back. While the restaurant was not super busy ... there were people ... but service was ridiculously slow! It took nearly 15 minutes to get our order, another 30 to get our food and as I sit and type this, waiting for the bill. I have been here for more than an hour now. Worst experience. Waited almost 40 minutes for food. When it finally came out, the eggs and hash browns were cold, but pancakes hot. Decided to go ahead and eat it because we had to get to an appointment. When I finished my daughter noticed two black hairs on my plate (my hair is not dark). The hairs must have been under the food. We told our waitress who told the manager. The Manager was extremely rude and unapologetic. Will never go back. I would give this a "0" if I could. read more

The worst place to eat in Willmar by far. Cold food with the smallest portions imaginable. Food not prepared the way you ask. Hash browns were completely raw and we ask for them to be extra crispy. I never write reviews because i've never had a bad experience like this one. My boyfriend and I ate there last Friday. We were at our table in the way back and I didn't think our server knew we were back there. We waited and I finally went up to the manager, whom was vaping in the kitchen, and asked politely if we could get served. Our server then came over and basically screamed so the whole place could here "I heard you were complaining?" and we had somewhere to be, so I said well we were waiting and we wanted to order as fast as possible. Then, this made him even more angry and said "give me a break" and slammed our menus down at a different table, while everybody in the restaurant heard and was watching. He was SO RUDE. We are costumers and paying for service. I started crying because of him so we got up and left. I have never been anywhere and been treated so poorly being a costumer. I also don't think it's very sanitary or classy to be vaping in the kitchen, especially when you're the manager. read more

Where do I begin. We went for supper tonight and our service was absolutely terrible. I'm not the type of person to write bad reviews normally but I had to share because we didn't have a good experience at all. First off, we didn't even get greeted by a server for just under a half hour. Ok, fine. Maybe she got seated a bunch of tables at once. We'll cut her some slack. They weren't very busy at all (maybe 6 or 7 tables). Well, then it took 15 minutes just to get our drinks and bring them to us. Well, then she drops our drinks off and says she has to go do something else really quick. At this point we were getting a little annoyed since we had already been there for 45 minutes but I was being optimistic and thinking well maybe she's just a little off tonight. We don't know the full story so we will give her the benefit of the doubt. Ok, so she comes and takes our order. I noticed that she had to write everything word for word so At that point I kind of assumed she was new. A little extra benefit of the doubt for her. But She was also very distracted looking at and talking to other servers while taking our order. In the mean time-- another table was sat, got their drinks right away and their food came out within 20 minutes and they got their check and left. We only noticed because there weren't very many tables. We finally got our food after a little over a half hour. My husband didn't get his stack of pancakes that he ordered, she said she didn't hear him order that, she might have if she was paying attention. Anyway, I get the kids figured out making sure they had everything like I always do before I even look at my plate. Well I look down at my plate and there's a long black hair laying across the food on my plate. (Our server's hair). I took a deep breath, moved the hair thinking oh it's just hair I will survive. I proceed to take a bite and my food is ice cold. My husband and oldest had both already mentioned their food was cold too but nobody wanted to say anything because we didn't want to wait forever for new food. Well, our server then comes back and proceeds to say that my husband never ordered those pancakes (that we had already put out of our minds and weren't worried about anymore). At this point my appetite was lost and my toddler was losing it because we had been sitting there for over 2 hours now. I will say, We did not tip. This is a first for me. I ALWAYS tip at least 15%, even if my service isn't great because we just don't know the back story. But tonight our waitress was just rude. I would not recommend going to this Perkins in the evening on a Sunday night. read more

I always seem to come back to Perkins every 6 months or more for another shot. I always ask myself (why?) right after. This place is terrible. Today they had no straws. NO STRAWS! I can buy 2,000 on Amazon right now for 30. This place needs a major overhaul in management. Food is Lukewarm every time. Last 5 times I went same thing. It's kind-of unbelievable. We have given this place about 6 too many chances and everytime we leave we always ask ourselves "why did we come back"?.. We both grew up going to Perkins on Sunday as part of routine but the Perkins in this town of Willmar is terrible. Between the very subpar service, the multiple times of undercooked food, or the portions that would make a 5 year old still hungry. The food was fine, but the service was pretty bad. Ordered an iced tea first and took forever to get it. Ordered an Omelette, but didn't want the hash browns or pancakes. Asked if it was possible to sub for a side salad, or vegetables instead. Blank stare...... was told that she didn't know how to do that. How hard can it be? The omelette was good. Slow, but good. I was actually quite surprised. After reading the reviews while waiting to order, I was not sure really what to think. Yes, the service was subpar, but the employees there were a bit older. We went there at 6pm and were seated. After 15 minutes a waitress that said she was not ours but saw we were waiting a long time came over. We gave her our order and then began to wait for our food. Well at 7pm we still had no food so since we had only water to drink we got up and left. We went over to Culver's and were all done and out the door by 8:10. We went for a Sunday brunch. Arrived at 10:45 and there was a line. Only 2 of us and we were advised there would be a 10-15 minute wait. We waited a half hour. Just before we were seated, a lady came in claiming she had 11:00 am reservations (I don't think they take reservations). She was seated in about 5 minutes. Our drink order came in a timely manner, and we ordered immediately. 25 minutes later our food came. When we had finished eating, our waitress stopped by to drop off our check, but she didn't have it with her. She said she would get it. 20 minutes later when she had not brought it, even though she had walked by our booth many times to bring things to other tables, still no bill. We gathered our things and went to the cashier where we told her we had waited 20 minutes, but no bill. She asked what we had had, printed out our receipt, and confirmed with us that that was what we had ordered. She gave us a discount because we were dissatisfied. All together, we were in Perkins for over and hour and a half. What a mess! read more

Our food was fabulous but when I used the women's rest room before we left I was horrified. It was just dirty it was filthy. There is no reason for this and I can't believe there haven't been multiply complaints. I have used that bathroom before and it has always been dirty but this was over the top horrible. The toilet was dirty, the floors had grime all over but particularly in the corners, there were no paper towels and the Dyson dryer was filth. If this is the case in the bathroom what is the kitchen like? Please consider hiring a cleaning company/person that makes that bathroom sparkle as a dirty bathroom says something about the entire restaurant. read more

Manager Shane was his name came to check on us we told him the apples in the pie was crunchy, he said he would go check on the process, never came back, we were seated by the kitchen and we seen and heard his rude remarks about us, I told the waitress of his rude behavior that we observed, which was not her fault, she apologized for his actions, she then went and told him what we said and we could see his childish behavior once again, I have been to many Perkins and have never seen such horrible service, our family will not be going back to Perkins in Willmar! read more

We have eaten at Willmar Perkins and had good service. The breakfast was good as well as served in a timely fashion.

I ordered off their light menu where all entrees were less than 600 calories. It was Tuscan chicken with a side of rice. I asked to substitute a plain baked potato for their rice and was told no because they couldn't guarantee the calorie count. Even though I said that was fine, they wouldn't accommodate (also, a plain baked potato would have less calories than that rice!). I can't believe that any restaurant would turn down a such simple request and compromise customer service like that! However, the chicken was pretty good. The service was also very slow. My brother waited for over half the meal for a soda refill. The server never checked back after giving us our meal and was nowhere to be seen. read more

I wanted to order the fish&shrimp off the $8 menu but I wanted the tots instead of the french fries. The manager said no way even though the FFs and tots were the same price. I can't believe that any restaurant would turn down a such simple request and compromise customer service like that. I was so excited to see that there was a Perkins right by the hotel that I was staying at. The awesome omelet/pancakes were what I was looking forward to. When I waked in I could see 3-4 wait staff staff in the kitchen chatting drinking pop, laughing while the 2-3 customers in the dining room were not being attended too.It was like a ghost town in there at 6:30pm. I was seated, ordered the Granny omelet/pancakes and it came out fast but OMG!!! It was awful!! Huge chunks of green pepper and slightly warm white hash browns. I was half way though my pancakes,didn't eat the omelet, when the waitress checked back. I told her that the om let was awful, she did her job and asked if they could fix it etc.. I said no and she said she would get the manager. The manager came over looked at the meal, laughed when she seen the chucks of green pepper asked if they could make ME ANOTHER BUT BY THEN i WAS DONE WITH THE PANCAKES. SHE SAID SHE WOULD SEE WHAT SHE Could do. The waitress came back dropped off the bill, they charged me for the short stack however she did not remove the plates, did not ask if she could get me something else, the MANAGER DID NOT COME BACK TO TALK WITH ME AND WHEN i WENT TO PAY MY BILL i SEEN THE MANAGER GO BACK INTO THE KITCHEN AND A CASHIER CAME OUT. After I paid the bill the cashier ran back into the kitchen. What a terrible experience. I used to be a trainer for Perkins and also lead waitress years ago and was very disappointed with the food and the service of the manager.I was really looking forward to an aw some meal one that is consistent for all of the Perkins however my dining experience was lacking and I would not go back. read more
