We tried McMillan's this Sunday morning for breakfast. The place was very busy with lots of families. That was a good sign. They offer their menu, which includes breakfast all day, as well as early morning breakfast specials, which run until 10 a.m., and they also had a buffet available. The buffet featured a lot of comfort foods: eggs benedict, banana bread, barbecue ribs, tator tot casserole. cheesy potatoes, cold pasta salads, oreo cream salad, salad bar and more. We opted for the breakfast specials as we wanted freshly prepared food. My beloved had a two egg, muffin, hashbrowns and bacon special. I had a ham and cheese omelette with pancakes and hashbrowns. My beloved's over-easy eggs had whites that weren't fully cooked, so she had to return them to the kitchen. The server was very nice about it, and did so promptly. I enjoyed the omelette, but the pancakes had a bit of an off-flavor that I personally didn't care for. The ambiance of the place would be similar to a Country Kitchen, Perkins, or other family restaurant where you can feel comfortable bringing the entire family - kids, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. My wife and I stopped in for lunch. Pleasantly surprised by the large spacious dining areas. Next surprise was a very nice salad bar. Wow I thought those were extinct. I had hamburger steak and mashed potatoes smothered with creamy brown gravy with large mushrooms and a nice dinner salad with Raspberry vinegar dressing crisp and cold..Unflavored ice tea was like the good old days. Wife had Salmon that included salad bar and baked potato and veggies. Delicious! Our server was wonderful too. We've been here years before. It was good then and just as good now! If you are in Willmar and you don't want to go to the usual Applebees and stuff like that, check out McMillan's. Typical American comfort food. The shakes are pretty awesome, made old school with about half a glass to top off. Foods great and they let you order breakfast anytime of the day. I ordered two strips of bacon with my dinner! Stopped here traveling through MN. Definitely a step up from Perkins, which is across the street. We had an excellent waiter. The food was out quickly and was tasty. We mostly stuck to breakfast foods. The Hollandaise Skillet was a solid choice. read more

Clean customer areas. Staff vary, some friendly some seem to hide until time for the ck. it is hit or miss for staffing The good is always great altho, they do tend to forget to add a few key ingred in to items. I ordered the whiskey wrap. Menu states, Monterrey Jack cheese and onion tangles, wrap arrived with neither in site. Waitress said she would ck with the kitchen, but never heard back from her. Can't really get a better breakfast in town (with Frieda's as a possible exception). Prices are pretty standard, but the food is above average and waitstaff are always pleasant! Typically it's a quiet spot as most of the patrons are older folks or families. read more

Great service. Had the best steak sandwich in a long time. Had a cup of chowder with and the base was good the Seafood was cooked perfect and tender, needed more spice. Side salad was OK. Busy place on a Friday at noon. Yes next time in area I will stop in and try breakfast brunch. read more

We arrived on a Sunday at 11am and my first reaction was maybe this wasn't the place to go because it was the place to be! The parking lot was full! I thought that we would have to wait in line to be seated but the restaurant had plenty of space even being busy. My favorite part about the menu was that it serves breakfast all day long! Our service was great and the food was also great. Portions are large so we had plenty to eat. They offered my children a coloring page with coloring crayons while we wait for our food to arrive.
