I want to give a higher rating because the waitstaff is so fantastic; but after several "second chances," Perkins is off the list. Again, the waitresses are phenomenal, but even with barely anyone else dining (maybe 4 other tables), it took 50 minutes for an omelette and pancakes to arrive. Went to dinner and it took forever. The avocado was not ripe and a couldn't cut it with my fork. Then when we were checking out someone brought a pie back and said that they wanted a different one. I ate there twice in the last few weeks. Once on a Sunday morning two weeks ago and tonight. The Sunday I was there, I was by myself. The restaurant was only about half-full and for the most part, everyone was very friendly. The host was fantastic, my server was pretty good, the customers around me were friendly and we were all talking together which was fun. The food, when it finally came out, was pretty good. They STILL can't make simple scrambled eggs though! They always come out frapped and dry which I hate. It also took just under an hour to get my food!!!!! THAT alone is unacceptable! The waitress even said they had to let the bread rise after I asked if they had to wait for the hens to lay some eggs. I was in a hurry and it should NEVER have taken that long to cook eggs. Then there was tonight... There were three of us and we walked in with someone I knew who sat alone by herself. She got her food, ate it, and left BEFORE we even got our food! There was a family of 5 who came in 20 minutes AFTER us, and a group of four who came in about 30 minutes AFTER us, and they all ordered, ate, and left BEFORE we got our food!!! We had to ask another waitress where our food was, for some more drinks, more napkins, etc. and we STILL waited for another 20 minutes for our food!!! NOT OK!!! We were ALL hungry!!! My mom is used to eating at a certain time every day and by the time we got our food it was two and a half hours after she's used to eating. There was NO ONE else in the restaurant!!!!! There is NO excuse for making us wait that long or making us wait until everyone else in the place who came in AFTER us ate and left!!! I will preface everything I'm about to say by mentioning, it's Perkins and in my opinion it's just a Denny's with less punching. We walked into this surprisingly clean establishment to get some breakfast. The two waitresses looked at each other and rolled their eyes harder than my dad rolled his 67' Mustang in 85. They ignored us, almost teasing us with a quarter step in our direction occasionally. Eventually they seated us at a booth. The waitress came and took our order, as one does. From this point forward, she turned into a 5 star waitress! She checked in, made jokes, got my coffee. Overall, I felt about as welcome as I do at my homophobic uncle's house. The food however.. The pancakes had the density of clay. The eggs were served with shell. And the bacon made me consider veganism. I'm not saying I expect Grammy's famous homemade breakfast, but I could've microwaved a couple eggo waffles and threw them in the dishwasher and STILL preferred that. Their foods are average. I like they have small potion breakfast menu. And looks like they are trying to be healthy. I ordered their strawberry pie for to go, and it turns very sad looking pie. It looked like somebody was struggling to cut the pie. Their servers were nice, we had good service. We hope they have more variety of soup, and keep serve their soup menu late night too. Soup will be good for late night meal. We love their Banana nut muffin, they use huge walnut!! We probably will come to this place when we visit this town. read more

Perkins fluctuates a great deal on service and food. One time is it awesome and the next time not so much. We do enjoy the breakfast anytime. However, sometimes parts of the meal are colder than other parts on the same dish. The portion sizes are fair and the prices are good. I do appreciate they have a Senior menu for my mom. I am happy they added the California Benedict breakfast. This seems to be a meal they can serve well consistently. My husband has had luck with the skillet dishes. The portions there are very good and they are hot! We also enjoy taking home the occasional pie. They are delicious and a better value than order one piece to eat there. It is what it is....and we will be eating there again. read more

We sat down at 6:30pm and we received our food at 7:20pm. When the waitress brought the food, I was moderately disgusted when I received our meal. The meal was totally botched. Not to mention, we ordered appetizers that never came. I wanted to order soup but was told that the restaurant was out of soup and fries. When I saw another patron sit and order something, I saw that he received a bowl of chicken noodle soup (this was almost 30 minutes after placing our order). The food was cold and slopped together. I asked for loaded mashed potatoes and received the cheese and sour cream and whole pieces of bacon. So I had to tear the bacon up with my hand? I just don't think I'll be returning to this establishment. Totally poor delivery oVerall. Very upsetting on the presentation along with table side manners from our server. What can I say? It's a Perkins. We only go here for breakfast since their lunch/dinner items leave a lot to be desired. However, lately even the breakfast hasn't been great. Last time I was in, I ordered the Classic Egg Favorites with my eggs ordered over-easy. I believe they were originally cooked over-easy. However, they must have been put under a heat lamp for quite a long time, because when I received them, they were over-hard. Also, I feel like the portions get smaller every time I go there. Perkins is synonymous with breakfast. I think the one in the Rapids needs to rebuild that reputation and start serving a better product. Visited on Pii Day because, well they had free pie!!!! Had a delicious supper(love the Chicken Pot Pie) and our pie of course. To make a long story short, we ended up being overcharged(I assume she didn't take off for the pies). Over a week later after debating if I should say anything I went in and talked to a manager who listened and was kind enough to give me a gift card for the difference and was genuinely glad I said something. She wants her customers to be happy and that's what a good business does. The food is great may I add again and the staff was very friendly. What else can you ask for in a restaurant! read more
