2-egg breakfast (top) and Grandpa's Omelette (bottom)
    Cat K.

When roadtripping, the rule is "No chain restaurants except for the occasional Culvers for the Flavor of the Day". This little cafe is definitely one of a kind. We met the current Grandma. I say Current because this little business was started by her parents decades ago. The cafe is housed in a quonset hut and has many family and community photos on the walls. A bar runs along one side so that individuals can eat at the counter seated on stools. Ten or twelve tables takes care of everyone else. Grandma brought us a menu, and I was immediately struck by the prices. They looked like pre-covid and pre-crazy-inflation prices to me. When our food was brought to the table, I still felt like I received a lot of value for the money. My sis got the regular 2-egg over easy breakfast with hash browns. My Grandpa Omelette was wonderful, with the grilled home fries cooked into the omelette along with bacon, swiss cheese, and onions. It was delicious. The thick-sliced toast was made from homemade bread. Yum!!! My sis-in-law grew up in Wisconsin, and I'm a Southerner. When she heard someone at the bar mention Rhubarb Crisp, she had to order that for me to try. It was a homemade rhubarb custard pie with a toasted sugar crumble on top, very tart and sweet at the same time. The rhubarb aficionado though it was wonderful. This was a great stop on our no-chain-restaurant road trip!

Does this count as a visit to your Grandma's House? It should! Besides this little place being in hut, it totally feels like I am sitting in someone's (Grandmas) house having a meal. The food is good, fast and cheap. I love finding places like this on Yelp! The walls are filled with family pictures. Grandchildren from young to old. Old military pictures and some of the same trinkets that sat around my grandmothers house. Only weird experience was in the parking lot when an old lady came running out of the Laundromat next door to tell me how bad her day was going.... And then to ask for some money. Not for her of course, it was for her cat! Poor thing was hungry! Wow!

This tiny little place was recommended by a local.... have to say I had one of the best omelette ever and even the toast was buttered appropriately and delicious! We had a little of everything including pancakes that were light and fluffy and sausage that tasted farm raised. Next time I'm trying a burger for lunch. My friend had the hot roast beef sandwich and that was also delicious!

Great breakfast spot. Food was good and my coffee mug was never empty. Definitely would go back. It is cash only, so come prepared.

Perfect example of what a local diner should be. Hasn't been in business my whole life by accident that's for sure.

Nothing special here. Blah omelets. Interior is quite odd. A mish mosh of photos and memorabilia. No desire to dine here again.

We'll…read moreknown and good burgers and fries...but my trusted dining companion, Yelp, told me about a little diner, open only until 2:00 p.m. called Misty's Menu, so we headed there for a burger, fries, and soup. My wife ordered homemade beef noodle soup (delicious). My 1/3 lb hand-pattied burger was served on a perfectly toasted potato bun which was bakery fresh! I'm very particular about fries. These were nearly perfect. Crinkle-cut, crispy, and thank heaven's not coated! Coated fries are the lazy diner's way of adding crispness to fries. Simply change your fryer oil frequently and you'll get crisp, delicious fries - like Misty's! My cup of chili contained elbow pasta but lacked salt in my opinion. My table shaker fixed that and I enjoyed the small sample of their homemade chili. Our server, Harmony, was prompt, well trained, friendly and attentive. She displayed a good sense of humor and connected with us. So, no offense to Culver's but our $17.97 meal was fast, fresh, and served with a smile! So its Culver's No, Misty's Yes in my opinion! Give this place a try for breakfast or lunch.

It was a cute cafe and loved that the ingredients are locally sourced. The cafe is accessible even if you aren't going into the Farm Exploration center, and it provides a good amount of options including sandwiches, bakery, and variety of drinks and other snacks. We both go the Turkey panini and a beverage and it was delicious. Came with a side of potatoes and small salad, perfect for what we were looking for. We popped in the gift shop and checked out the World's Largest Potato Masher while we visited and it was great to learn a little bit about the grounds and facilities, we will definitely come back to check out the rest of the building.

For a place that caters to kids, they only had 3 things on the kids menu. A quesadilla, buttered noodles, and a ham/turkey sandwich. My picky kids were starving and one was basically crying there was nothing he liked. He ate chips. The other two had a sandwich. I'm not sure it was worth $7. I had the caprese sandwich with chips. For $14 I would have expected a bigger sandwich. It was fairly small. It tasted good though. If I was by myself I would try a few other things on the menu, because many of the wraps and sandwiches sounded good, but I won't bring my kids back.
