I don't understand how she gets such good ratings. Those good reviews fooled me to go get my eyebrows done by her. The people who think she does great job do not know how much better other artists can do. They probably have never gotten permanent make up before. She did my eyebrows very quickly and then she said they were done after never handing me a mirror to check. I had to get up and walk to the mirror on the wall. I told her I wanted them thick before the procedure but she made them very thin. I could see right away that they were uneven. I told her I wanted them thicker and one side looked thicker than the other. She didn't bother to check them closely and just shook her head. She said I need to come back and pay $30 if I wanted anything fixed. I left there being very upset. I have never experienced that kind of treatment from a beauty technician before. I was rushed out and she took her next appointment. I think it had a lot to do with me using the Groupon. Anyhow, there was no way I was going back to her after the kind of job and service she did. I could not trust her to touch my eyebrows again. I paid more money to get them fixed by someone who I was recommended. What a big difference! The shape is incomparable. This lady took her time and showed me the mirror several times to ensure I was satisfied. The only thing I liked better about Denise was that she used better numbing cream. read more

I first got permanent brows about 6 or 7 years ago. I was fortunate that the lady I picked to do them for me in Tempe was pretty good. The shape was something I could live with but the color turned reddish brown, not good for my skin tone. I had her touch them up a year later and again, I could live with the result because no brow is going to be knockout amazing, right? In a couple of years I got lip and eyeliner done. The lip liner I am totally happy with, the eyeliner was spotty and a bit uneven in places, but eyeliner rocks! Last year I found Denise when she ran a special on eyeliner. She redid mine, evened out the rough spots and recommended that I go darker than what I asked for. She was right and it looks wonderful. I finally decided recently that my brows had faded way too much to be ok, I was forced to fill in with pencil each day, which to me is why I got permanent brows in the first place, so that makeup application wasn't necessary every day, right? So I called Denise who happened to be running another special, and set up an appointment to do my brows last Thursday at noon. She had me draw the shape plus bring the pencil so she could be sure to match the shade. When I got home I couldn't stop staring at them in the mirror. The lines were so nice, they looked awesome. Plus all the red tone was gone, none peeking through. Today is Tuesday. I took good care to maintain a light layer of Vaseline and didn't rub. This evening they are done, fully shed and beautiful. I couldn't be happier. They are amazing, the color is perfect and they look so good I won't need to fill with pencil. When I'm ready, I will go back for an eyeliner refresher. I would not recommend her services. She did my eyebrows and top eyeliner. I was rushed through the whole procedure. When she was finished, she asked me what I thought of the results. I told her that on eyebrow was thicker than the other, and that the eyeliner on top of the other eye looked uneven. She said "You can come back in one month for a touch-up", and quoted me prices. Why couldn't she get it right the first time? My one eyeliner is actually below the lash line, and the other eyebrow completely fell off, although I followed her after-care instructions. read more

I just wanted to give Denise a 5 star for her great service. She did my top and bottom eyeliner in the waterline a month ago and she did an awesome job. I loved the fact that she took her time and explained everything very well. She was also very caring and really friendly. I'm glad I decided to go to her because I'm very pleased with my results. For the last 10+ years I have been going to a permanent makeup artist in Scottsdale and paying twice as much as I did this afternoon, and ended up with what I consider lesser quality of work. I got my eyebrows done by Denise several months ago and am disappointed to say the least. There not even similar. I said something right after they were done and she said well they have to heal. Well that didn't even help. Lighting is very poor. One brow is thicker, they don't match in length where they come together towards the nose. She said well just come in for a touch up Are you kidding me ! Need a redo but I'm stuck with them !. Plus she wants to charge another $30 per touch up ! Not going to let her touch me ! She made me feel beautiful again!!!!! I am a big fan of Denise and this why. I took advantage of Groupon offer from someone else and had to go in twice because one brow was shorter than the other before I even left but with no contacts in I could not tell that. The other issue is the brows were two different shapes. I do know that brows are intended to be sisters and not twins but this was awful...just awful. I then went 6 months later to someone else from a friend who had them done somewhere else and thought hers looked great. It was the most painful experience of my life. She said she put numbing cream but I felt everything. She did not fix the shape of the tattoos so I ended up with the same issue but darker now. As they faded I spent two hours a day trying to fix the mess that were my brows only to be frustrated and in tears and afraid to look anyone in the eye lest they see the way to obvious issue. I could not take it anymore and ran across Denise's website and saw her offer on Groupon. She was great. I was gun shy to say the least and she was so patient with me I sent her a photo first and asked her to be brutally honest with me about the ability to fix my brows. She felt she could help and so I made the appointment . She answered all my questions and gave me advice on color and shape and let me know every step of the way what she was doing. She gave me after care instructions and was so informative. I visited Denise on 1/13/15 after finding her deal on groupon. I had never done permanent makeup. When I arrived I did advise her that I did not want my brows to bee too dark because I regularly wear my hair very light brown. Although I have dark hair for the moment I would be going light again soon. She became a bit rude and said no matter what my hair color is I needed to go dark to fit my skin tone. Well my skin tone does not require dark brows... She almost argued with me about it and said the color would lighten up. I should of walked out right then and there. I did not have a good feeling about the procedure and that was partly because I felt she was argumentative and borderline unprofessional. I proceeded and I regret it more that anything I have ever done before. She gave me dark brows and my natural shape of eyebrow was not followed at all!! she pretty much did the shape she wanted and not my natural brow shape and to make it even worse came to an abrupt stop at the end of my brow. It looks horrible, I felt her going over my left brow more that my right brow and here I am over two weeks later my shape is horrible, my right brow is a bit crooked and areas of color missing and my left brow is super dark. I REGRET USING DENISE FOR SUCH A CRITICAL PROCEDURE TO MY FACE. I should of done more research and I should of left her tanning store right when my gut signaled me to walk out. Now I am looking for someone to fix the color and hopefully the shape of my brows. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO VISIT DENISE. She is not up to date with the latest brow techniques and definitley does not listen to her client as to what then want done. She is horrible. It isn't just that I didn't like what she did. I actual have mistakes and she won't even see me. I have had permanent eyeliner done twice before so I knew what to expect. I called a couple of weeks after getting it done and said that I had 2 places that looked like a bruise. She said that a bruise will last 1 week for every 10 years of age. I am 55 of I believed her and waited 6 weeks. I then went looking to others for their opinion. I went to another permanent make-up person who said it was ink not a bruise. I then went to my dermatologist who also said it was ink not a bruise. Both said her bruise story was a lie. When I called her back she then came up with another story. She said it was because I have had eyeliner done before (another lie). All of this without EVER seeing me. I have 2 permanent "bruises" on my eyes. This actually called a blowout. It is were the makeup artist puts the needle in at the wrong angle and ink shoots under the skin. IT IS PERMANENT. Sure she might do a good job but don't take the chance. I did and I have to PERMANENT black blotches on my eye lids that makeup won't cover and nothing can be done to remove. I found one other person and her blowout was even bigger than mine and she is suing her. There probably is more. Don't let her touch you. Go somewhere elsewhere. After having the experience I did with Denise, I just had to write her a fantastic review. Could not believe the negative reviews I read on here, I almost thought they were for a completely different person! She was so wonderful! I have had many friends get their eyebrows done and I was just always to afraid to try it. She was so informative before we started the procedure itself. She made sure I had no allergies, (which I do so it wss nice that she double checked with me, even though her paperwork asks about allergies) had me pencil in my eyebrows the way I liked them done and then with her pigment she even created the EXACT color of my eye pencil! The procedure itself wasn't painful at all, at least not with what I would've expected. She was very personable all the way until the very end. Her salon is very sanitized/clean which is so important to me when someone's touching my face. My eyebrows are in the healing process, but they already look so amazing. I never got the chance to have my permanent eyeliner done. Denise was quite rude! Maybe she was just having a bad day, but if I talked to my clients the way she talked to me, I wouldn't be in business. I had questions and some concerns regarding the procedure. Denise seemed to be more concerned about scheduling appointments, doing her routine run-thru of the procedure and getting off the phone. Having some medical issues and knowing people who have had the procedure done and had infection problems after the procedure and considering this person is going to be working on the only set of eyes I have, I had questions and gave her some examples of the issues and my concerns. She became personally offended by my asking these questions and told me that she didn't like my tone! I was just asking questions and giving her the reasons for my concerns, for heaven's sake. I was not questioning her capability. Denise mentioned that she used an epinephrine gel on the eyelid and my medical condition requires epinephrine not be used during certain procedures. I told her I wanted to check with my doctor. I said I would like to keep the appointment (it was scheduled for the first Friday in June) and I would call her back after I had talked to my doctor. She told me that I might not talk to my doctor for 2-3 days. I assured her I would talk to my doctor that day and would call her right back. She abruptly canceled my appointment anyway. So beware if you decide you use this facility and Denise for your permanent eye make-up. Again, maybe she was just having a bad day, but her sharp tone and her annoyance at having to answer questions from a potential client is so unprofessional, I suggest you look elsewhere for your permanent make-up application. read more
