Generally I think Perrinville animal hospital is pretty good. However, they are far from perfect. But so far I'm willing to look past the sometime imperfections and stay with them. We like the doctors here, although in the past year we noticed they had a few turned over. Doctor Throm and Rehberger are always nice and you can feel they genuinely care about their patients, and they are pretty good at listening to owners concerns and give suggestions. The things that frustrated us the most are the follow ups, or getting the test results back in a timely manner. One time we called two days in a row to get a test result and was told very different stories from different two front test clerks, but luckily things worked out at the end. I guess owners just need to be a little proactive and make sure they don't forget about your case. read more

Perinville deserves all the stars and then some. This has been my go to vet for quite some time now. I have a 6 year old golden retriever and a two year old German shorthair pointer. My golden has issues with ear infections and allergies all the time and they've been super easy to work with as far as fitting me into their schedule. We also had an incontinence issue with our GSP right before leaving town for 4 months and they were able to squeeze us in last minute, give us a supply of meds to last us the duration of our trip and answer all of our questions. This week my golden had a lack of appetite, kept throwing up and I got very worried so I gave them a call and even though they're booked till May, they let me drop her off and saw her in between other patients. They expedited all the lab work and got me answers the same day (turns out she ate a lot of sand), ugh. But they took great care of her AND me. Used to love this place but then our favorite vet left. She was so great with our big boy. He would snuggle up to her and giver her kisses while she pet him and went about her exams and vaccines.. Fast forward to our most recent visit when we were absolutely not thrilled at how he was handled. All we needed to do was have a couple moles checked. We were super confused when the vet tech entered the room. We had never needed two people before... Neither the vet nor the vet tech tried to pet him or approach him nicely. The vet tech had no idea what she was doing and initially tried to get him into a corner. They went straight into to a two-person restraint which completely stressed him out. He kept trying to thrash out of their grip and they responded with more force. I think they saw a big dog and decided to use it as a training experience for a new person on how to restrain animals. I tried to tell them that wasn't going to work out and offered to have him lay down for me, but the vet refused since owners intervening can lead to other people getting bit. Fine, I get it. So we just watched them struggle while our stressed out dog looked at us with the saddest eyes. Finally, the vet let me sit on the floor with him as I had initially suggested and he immediately rolled over to show them his belly. On our way home, he was very noticeably sad and mopey, which is very unusual for him, even after a visit to the vet. This place has been amazing in the past, but we definitely won't be going back for another stressful, borderline traumatic experience. If I can't trust you to handle my big dog when I'm in the room, I definitely can't trust you to do it when I'm not. read more

We switched to Perrinville about 5 years ago after a horrible experience with another vet. Dr. Rehberger was amazing with our new puppy and made us feel as ease and truly cared for. I transferred all our pets to Perrinville. This year we experienced our dog's first pregnancy. I wish I had found PAH sooner! I had a BAD experience with my previous vet and needed a second opinion. I brought my 11 yr old Torkie to see Dr. Throm the very next day. I had a really sick pup on my hands and was beyond worried and really stressed out. The difference was night and day! Dr. Throm's assistant Jessica was so sweet, she listened to me and my concerns and made me feel at ease immediately. Dr. Throm was so warm and welcoming. He was thorough, clear and concise without being pushy. He gave me options and made me feel like I was a part of the decision making. His kindness towards my pup and myself is so appreciated! A few days later I had to make the decision to have my dog put to sleep. Because my dog was suffering, I took the next available appt which was with another doctor. I cautiously chose Perrinville Animal Hospital after doing my research, as a result of a tragic experience with a former vet, which resulted in the death of one of my pets. Almost a year later and after several vet visits with both of my surviving pets, I am happy to report that I've found our furbabies' forever veterinary home. Dr. Throm, and the other vets, at Perrinville have been consistently kind and caring with my pets. Dr. Throm is very knowledgeable and takes the time to address any concerns that I have about my pet's health or behavior, and provides credible answers and sound advice. He and his staff are a pleasure to work with. My dog actually looks forward to his vet visits. My cat, not so much. She gets nervous leaving the house. She peed in her carrier on the way to the visit. The staff and Dr. Rehberger were very understanding and accommodating to my pee soaked cat. Do not take your family members (pets) here. They care about nothing but money and are way overpriced. We have a black lab, Marleigh, who has had seizures since she was a puppy. I don't know when Vets crossed the line to become interested in nothing but money but this office has devolved into that culture. We have been going to this office to care for probably 6 or more of our pets for at least 20 years. We began when their office was pretty much operating on a dime. They were pretty good about working with us financially up until recently. Because they do not allow pet owners to make payments, if 1 of our fur babies needed care, we would leave our debit card info for a future date debit (usually within 2 weeks). We now have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I called last week to refill Marleigh's seizure medicine which she was completely out of and was now told that they would NOT accept a future debit (1 week in advance). We are retired and our income is fixed on only specific days of the month. For those of you who may not know, seizure medicine in pets or people cannot be abruptly stopped. 'Courtney' went on to tell me that we would need to schedule a visit for Marleigh and then MAYBE her medication would be refilled. Fyi, we never leave with a bill of under $200 for each of our pets. She said that Marleigh was overdue for an exam, yes, it was due the end of January, but there has been the pandemic thing going on. Duh. Our 2nd dog, Bailey a golden retriever, is on thyroid and allergy medication. Which she too is out of. They have endangered the well being and lives of our pets. This is not okay by any stretch of the imagination. I wish we lived in a more rural area so that we had access to more of a country type Vet, but we are in Edmonds and would have to drive for quite some time. I am now looking for a new Vet office asap. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PERRINVILLE ANIMAL HOSPITAL. Save time, your money and the health of your family member(s) and do not patronize this facility. read more

We originally were not patients at this vet, but it was the one that was closet and still open (our previous vet was already closed). They happily took us in and immediately took care of our dog. Every staff member was friendly and timely with their service, readily taking my dog in once he arrived. Dr. Rehberger explained what they would do to clean and patch my dog up. She was extremely patient with us, gentle with our dog, and did not mind taking us in when they were near closing. We are forever appreciative for the help and service provided by this vet, Dr. Rehberger and her team. There is a reason why they are unable to take new patients in! read more

In December 2019, I lost my oldest dog to cancer while he was a patient at Northpointe Animal Hospital. Due to their lack of urgency and communication as his condition was getting worse (example: I sent an email regarding meds that they never replied to but as soon as I walked in the next day, the lady at the front desk immediately addressed my email. So they read it, knew my dog's condition but didn't feel like replying), I left them and looked for another vet. A friend that works at a local well known shelter in Lynnwood, where I adopted both my late older dog and my current younger dog, recommended Perrinville Animal Hospital. I took my younger dog to Perrinville in January for her initial meet and greet appointment. I also let them know why I moved on from my previous vet. A month later, my younger dog had a lot of blood in her pee. I collected a sample and set an appointment at Perrinville. I was still grieving the loss of my older dog so my mind was racing as to what was going on with my younger one. I was able to get in on a Wednesday. In-house tests and x rays came up with nothing so the doctor recommended they send the sample to another lab for further study. She told me "We'll get the results by next Monday, or Tuesday at the latest. And we'll give you a call." Next Monday and Tuesday came and went. Since my dog's pee was clearing up a bit, I gave the vet extra time in case they were unusually busy. ONE WEEK LATER I still had not gotten a call or anything. I called and told the person that answered that I had been waiting. She put me on hold, came back a couple minutes later and told me that test that I paid more for also came up with nothing. I asked why I was never called. She said, "I don't know. This is all the information the doctor gave me." I asked to speak to the doctor. Since she wasn't available, I was told she would call me later. At the end of the day, I get a call. The doctor's excuse was "I've been in and out of the office and I had some other things I was dealing with." I reminded her why I left my last vet, to which I got a short insincere, "yeah, sorry about that." I said, "I understand that doctors and everyone else has other things to deal with, but you need to keep in mind that people are waiting on you." Another hollow "sorry" reply. I told my friend at the shelter about this and she was p*ssed! She said she will make sure to never recommend them again. And she said the same thing I thought, "First of all, she's a vet and that's part of her job! But, if she was soooo busy with these other things, why didn't she just give the results to someone else in the office and ask them to call you?! Obviously, the person that answered the phone was able to get it after you called." With these 2 experiences back to back, I'm starting to wonder if this is a new trend with vets, to not really give a d*mn about your pets, but just make sure they are getting paid. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Perrinville Animal Hospital. We have been taking our dog Vixen here for a few years now after leaving a different veterinary office. These Doctors and techs are top notch. As well as the front office staff. The two Doctors we have seen, Dr. Throm and Dr. Rehberger are both extraordinary! The Dr.'s are so good with our dog, they get down on the ground with her and are so gentle and loving with our dog, treating her as if she were one of their own. They are open and receptive to our comments and questions and really take the time and try to get to your pet on a personal basis. The gals at the front as always so nice and helpful as well, particularly Annie and Courtney do such a wonderful job! Always willing to go above and beyond to help out if you have a question or anything and are always so friendly. Also, their prices are fair. They don't nickel and dime you and always print out an invoice with each visit breaking down the costs and whatever medications to go home with the pet that day and what was done. Very thorough. We found this Vet office because of it's good reviews on yelp and Google so after coming here for a while I thought of it as my duty to continue to spread the good word of this place so others would know what a terrific Veterinary Clinic this is. read more

Very disappointed by customer service (or lack thereof) that I received today when speaking with someone by the name of Annie. She refused to provide a refill my dog's flea medication called Sentinel. My dog Chloe has been on Sentinel monthly for her entire life and they will no longer refill it. I was told that they had a meeting and decided they would no longer fill flea preventatives unless I bring my dog back in specifically for heartworm testing. Mind you, my dog was just in approx 2 months ago to see Dr. Throm for her annual exam and there was ZERO mention of it. After many years and thousands of dollars invested at this vet, I am very disappointed by the lack of service being provided to me to ensure my dog has the routine flea protection that she needs. If I want to keep my dog on preventative flea meds that she has been on for years, I should be able to do so. Especially considering they saw her in the office about 2 months ago. At this point it honestly feels like a money grab. They also recently denied my elderly dog's pain medication refills which I feel is a decision that lacks compassion considering she has undergone multiple massive surgeries at their clinic and deserves to be comfotable throughout her senior years. Very disappointed in how service and attitude here has recently changed. Pained me to write this review, its really unfortunate all around. Something is different lately in the way this vet office is being operated. Guess i will go to the feed store and purchase an inferior flea product to use on my dog that does not require Annie's approval. read more

Haha) My cocker spaniel, YueYue has been coming here to see Dr. Robert Throm since he was 6 months old, and now he is almost 15 year old! Dr. Throm and his staffs are patient and passionate about what they do. You can tell they REALLY LOVE AND CARE about your dogs. Dr. Throm also always remember our conversations and asks about my family and friends whose accompanied me to the appointments in the past. He is really good with animals, he's always been really good with my YueYue. YueYue always run around in the hospital like it's his home as he feels so comfortable and happy to see Dr. Throm and his staffs. They are also very understanding and willing to fit you in any emergency appointments needed, or they would take my dog in to care for during their breaks if they don't have any appointments available but my dog needs medical attentions. I can't say enough good things about Perrinvile Animal Hospitals and their staffs. Im so grateful I have found this wonderful hospital for my YueYue and so blessed that he's a healthy 15 year old! One of the hardest experiences as a pet owner is making the decision to help your pets cross the rainbow bridge. Dr. Throm and staff were so kind, patient, and sensitive when we had to put our cat to sleep and he explained everything we needed to know, no more no less. I was a complete wreck and we were given the proper space to say goodbye; these folks are not only great at what they do for our pets, but also how they support us pet owners. Since then, we have taken our new kitty in to address a (fortunately) temporary urinary tract issue and we were given several different options for medications and treatment approaches, starting with the least invasive and less expensive ones first (and thankfully, that's all that was needed!) About 11 years ago, our 102 lb shepherd/collie was hit by a car and had his leg broken in 7 different places. After a rush to the emergency vet, they referred us to Dr. Throm to see if there was something he could do. Unfortunately, with having such a big break, our dog had to have his leg amputated, but Dr. Throm and his team were fantastic throughout the entire process. They allowed our pooch to become a part of their family, treated him well, treated us well, and though the outcome wasn't optimal, we couldn't have asked for a better veterinarian through the process that lasted months -- and our dog was able to live out the rest of his life as normally as possible (with regular check-ups, of course!) An office change and two more canine additions to our family later, we still trust Dr. Throm with our pets. Just recently, there was a cancer scare with one of our dogs and as always, Dr. Throm and his staff were quick to diagnose, treat and take care of her. We couldn't be more happy with Dr. Throm and Perrinville Animal Hospital. I worked for this company for 6 & 1/2 years.. And recently my employment ended here. This is what I have witnessed, and been lucky enough to be a part of: The doctors: they are wonderful. The docs at this hospital truly care about your pets. They recommend what your pet would benefit from, not unnecessary tests or meds. These docs don't work on commission, and have been know to spend a large amount of time on their off days working. Sometimes they run behind, but it's only because they want to make sure every patient has been given their time and answered every question you may have. They also take emergencies so that can put them behind too.. But you will be glad they do when it's your turn for that emergency ;) I only wish I had docs that took care of me the way these guys take care of their patients. The rest of the staff: from the reception, to the room techs, to the back techs they are great! There is a large amount of compassion for animals, and they take their jobs seriously. The facilities: this animal hospital is cleaned multiple times daily, the rooms are cleaned after every single patient... You walk in and can't smell animals because of all the cleaning that place gets. Overall: if you want a place that will treat you like your part of the family, while treating your pet to the best possible care look no further then here. I will continue to take my pets here, and I will only recommend this hospital. read more

I have been a veterinary assistant for many years (10+) and the quality of medicine practiced by Dr. Throm and Dr. Young is top notch. They are very thorough. The clinic is brand new and clean. Dr. Throm is so patient with even the toughest of customers and he has a touch with the crabby ones. All of the girls that work there truly love animals so much. You can rest assured if your pet has to spend some time there that they are getting excellent care the whole time. Even though I have a vet whom I go to that is more local to me, as Perrinville is about 30 minutes from my house, I would go to Perrinville in an instant if there was something really wrong with one of my pets. read more

Wonderful place to get care for your pet! We had a stray male cat adopt us (show up on our doorstep) in August of this year. We decided to take him in, but wanted to get him checked out first to see if he was chipped and belonged to someone else. We decided to go to another local vet inside of a big chain pet store.... While there they talked us into getting him "checked out" with all of the Feline Leukemia and FIV tests etc etc. Over the course of a couple of weeks (because we had to go back and get boosters and I found that this cat had tape worms as he was leaving segments in his bedding) I felt like they kept "adding on" this test and that test that would cost $50 here and $60 there and $600 LATER I have a healthy and happy cat. The weird thing is.... other than the tape worms, there was nothing wrong with him. How the heck did I wind up getting talked into spending $600?? So about a month later we decide we'd like another cat, as we've always wanted 2. I found someone on craigslist who was needing to find a home for one of her kitties. We connected and she picked us to adopt her kitty. After a few days of having her in our home I noticed she was having these "hairball/coughing" attacks 3-4 times/day which I thought was very abnormal. I've had cats most of my life and never seen this kind of behavior. I decided I was NOT going to take our new kitty to the previous vet and decided to do some research on Yelp to see if I could find one that I might feel more comfortable with. I called Perrinville and made the appointment. Talk about a NICE, welcoming, clean and friendly atmosphere! All the ladies at the front desk were very friendly and professional. The Dr. and Assistant were very kind and understanding. They took their time to explain things to me and give me options for my kitty's treatment (turns out she has feline asthma). After X-Rays, the appointment fee AND shots for treatment I didn't even spend HALF of what I was charged at the other place for my other cat. And I'll just say..... even if it had cost more.... the personable atmosphere and obvious caring nature of the staff here would make it all worth it. I took my dog here after noticing some worms in her stool. I was able to get an appointment for the very next day. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The place was not hard to find and I was able to take Sophie on their lawn area to obtain a stool sample. The staff were all extremely friendly. They were able to confirm within about 5/10 minutes that she did have worms, gave her pills for the worms. Sophie was also able to get her rabies vaccine and her nails trimmed. The price breakdown was as follows: Office exam -$56 Intestinal parasite direct/microscopic - $37 Rabies vaccination - $19.50 Nail trim with exam - $15.80 Cestex 100mg (dewormer) - 27.08 total- $155.38 All in all, it was a little expensive, but well worth the quality of service. I will definitely bring Sophie back next time she needs vet care. read more

It has been several years overdue as I should have written it in 2009. To everyone who trusted Dr Throm - I can say beware, to all who did not - well done. My experience was horrible. My beloved Bruno - Rhodesian Ridgeback died as a result of care provided. He was brought in with abdominal pain and diagnosed with tumor in his spleen. Since there were no metastasis by ultrasound, Dr Throm decided to do exploratory laparotomy - a spleen was removed (it was an old hematoma most likely caused by my neighbor's kick ( who was a loose Cannon) and gastrotomy to remove food wrap. Discharged on day 3 but unable to eat or drink, constantly nauseated. Afebrile on antibiotics, but once we stopped them he spiked again. We brought Bruno in several times and were reassured that dog was fine. Went to ER in Lynnwood- got the same. And nobody told us that his white cell count was over 20,000. We learned it from records later and were amazed that nobody thought there was an infection After 3 visits there, 1 to Lynnwood Bruno lost 20 lbs. We supported him with iv fluids, but he was barely able to stand. We took him to Pilchuck hospital and requested re-exploration. Bruno has peritonitis due to stomach perforation that eventually caused bowel obstruction. We were told that at that point nothing could be done and agreed to put Bruno to eternal sleep. What an amazing place! Staffs are friendly, doctors are professional, and the cost are professional. Here's my story: I have just bough a male Pomeranian puppy, and he broke his leg. I went to a certain other vet in Lynnwood area and the doctor says that my puppy should be x-rayed in order to know how fatal the broken leg is; this x-ray costs $500! Then, they also say that my puppy should undergo an operation that costs $4000 to heal his leg. However, when I go Perrinville Animal Hospital, the doctor profesionally says that I have distinct options. I say that my budget is below $2000, so she says that my puppy is better to have a gip rather than an operation. The x-ray in Perrinville Animal Hospital costs only $80 and the gip costs approximately $500 in total. $4500 and $580, that's a lot of money! After this incident, I always bring my puppy here whenever he needs to go to a doctor. Plus, the staffs are really friendly and nice. read more

First of all, this animal hospital is amazing. I can't believe the care we receive after switching from another vet. The front office staff are so friendly and easy to talk to. They call us back to a room rather quickly. They remember who I am when I come in and am always greeted warmly. Dr. Rehberger is so awesome and caring. So are the vet technicians who care for and treat my cat like royalty. Dr. Rehberger is easy to talk to and shows you photos of animal skeletal and organs so you understand what is going on. My kitty is old (15) and was diagnosed with cancer after the Dr. took a sample on our first visit. We are doing palliative care and she's very helpful making my kitty feel pain free and comfortable. Thank you for doing the work you're doing, Perrinville! We will be back with our other two kitties for a check up soon! read more
