I don't usually Post reviews but apparently this one called for it, I needed some dental work done and called this office, a Lady named I want to say if I'm spelling her name right genie, answered I explained my dental symptoms and where they were coming from, and instead of listening, She boldly interrupted me and said with a very snappy attitude "we're not taking new patients at this time"! I asked her we'll when are you? Her answer I don't know! Now I'm no expert but this sounds like a job seeker trying to find a job, As is this situation. It's like trying to get into club med. I needed to change dentists and found Dr. Patel on Yelp. He made an appointment for me to get in in just four days. On day one he did a new patient exam xrays, and prepared a tooth for a crown (it had a lot of decay). A week and a half later the crown was in my mouth.. He also reinstalled a crown that popped off and filled a cavity., Five days after that I had a teeth cleaning, The staff is excellent and will juggle appointments to your schedule. The office is very large and looks like new. I had no complaints. At the time of my appointment Dr. Patel was still accepting Delta Dental without extra fees. He may be the only dentist in the area that still does that. The bad news is that is expected to change shortly. Another good point is that he is open a half day on Fridays. Virtually every dentist in the area work Monday to Thursday. read more

cleanings are a breeze, and Lindsey is always gentle. I had to have a gold crown removed as it was lifting, he gave me the gold crown and gold post from a long ago root canal. I don't have another appt until 12/4 and have to be careful with the temporary he put in the hole. It has come out twice, and I had to call the office on a Saturday and leave a message to have it re cemented. Dr. Patel was gentle and encouraging. Dr. Patel is a wonderful Dentist however some of his office staff are lacking professional skills and knowledge. They kind of make it a guessing game when it comes to appointments! I have had my appointments canceled and changed 3 times without anyone even letting me know. I have taken time off work to made my appointments. I never had these kind of issues with my old dentist. Let's face it, no one wants to go to the dentist. I am so bad, I'll let a cavity go unchecked until it's past being saved with a root canal and needs to be pulled. However I have a lot of cavities that needed attention and I can't go around toothless, so I needed to get them checked out. I wound up here with my insurance and really liked my experience here so far. Staff and doctor are all great and professional. They have a monitor over the dental chair and a subscription to Netflix and you can watch whatever you want while having your teeth worked on. Of course whenever they came at me with the needle, my eyes are shut tight even though I can't feel any pain. Still it's nice to use it as a distraction! If you are a new patient you get a free Phillips Sonic Care toothbrush! I love mine! I'll never waste money on the battery operated kinds ever again! Still not a fan of dentists but this place makes it easier to take good care of your teeth! read more

Dr. Patel has done a few procedures on me including bonding, fillings, crown and routine cleanings by his hygienists. The office is clean and up to date with friendly and efficient staff. Unfortunately, after he replaced my crown he couldn't get my bite right. I went in at no charge and he did try to correct it. After that I figured it was as good as it was going to get. Then I got the filling, and I was quite shocked. First, it was a very large filling on a tooth that had never had a filling previously. Perhaps that was necessary, he didn't discuss it in advance. Then, once again, my bite was way off and my bottom teeth were jammed into the back of my front teeth. Again, I went in afterwards and he attempted to correct the problem. Again, it didn't feel quite right after. I have multiple other fillings and 5 other crowns and never had a dentist who couldn't get the bite right. Now an update. I started to get terrible pain in the crown he put in. This is likely not due to his work but probably just the result of work on that area. So I had to see an endodontist for a root canal. And after the root canal the endodontist spent a minute on getting the bite right and I now nearly have back my correct old bite. read more

Doctor Patel is one in a million! I had gone through nearly a dozen dentists before trying him ( yes, nearly a dozen!) I used to be one of those people that would rather do anything else but have to go to the dentist! Dr Patel and every single one of his office staff, especially Diana, are amazing! Always professional and most importantly -incredibly helpful and accommodating. The practice is one of the cleanest I have ever seen, I never have to wait more than 10 minutes after checking in for an appointment, and when I am seen, Dr Patel is gentle, patient, and kind. I had put off going to the dentist for a very long time I received a coupon for new patients. Got my income tax refund and decided to go. What a lovely experience. Everyone was kind and friendly and gentle. Not only did I get a quick appt , the office staff was just as nice. Last time I went to a local dentist it was upsetting. After exam I was sent to talk with the financial person. Huge office. Had a contract for me to sign. Thousands of dollars telling me this was the plan the dentist had worked up for me. Really felt as if a seminar was taken How to get the most money out of each patient. This time I was given options by the dentist. He sat with me as we looked at the X-rays. My last visit with Dr Patel I told him of my concern that my teeth were shifting with age and I had gaps between my teeth. That's all I saw when I looked in the mirror or at a photo of myself. I hated it. He assured me that he could fix the problem. I had my appointment with him today and in a short amount of time and a pain free procedure I have my old smile back, but better. I couldn't believe it and am thrilled with my new smile. Dr Patel is a true artist. My next visit with him will be for botox on my frown lines and fillers for my wrinkles around my lips. I do not yelp, I downloaded this app just to leave a comment on this dental practice specifically. This Doctor is beyond wonderful. He's the only dentist I've ever had that gives out his person cell number to his patients and asks you to text him day or night. Not only did he check up on me last night, he left his home at 8:30pm to have me come back to the office when I had bleeding concerns. His staff is soooo warm and friendly, the office environment is homey and welcoming. I highly recommend this dental office. In my opinion, at Dr. Patel's office I feel very taken care of... the front office girls = They are so kind to make sure that my appointment time is accommodating to my schedule. They are also patient with me while explaining my insurance so I understand what I'm going to have to pay. There are times when the office is busy, but I never feel like I am being rushed or pushed threw the process. While sitting in the waiting room I notice that they take their time with each person who was checking in or out, not just shuffling people threw the assistants/cleaners = They are so thoughtful and take the time to get to know me. And it's not the fake, "how are you doing" They remember my husbands name, his job, and we catch up on our lives since I was in last. With cleanings and when I have needed work done, throughout the entire sitting, they continually make sure that I am comfortable in a not so easy situation (having a hand in my mouth). I'm not sure anyone is excited about being at the dentist office, having your teeth and mouth messed with, but the girls there do their best to make you feel at ease. the doctor = I'm not sure what Miss M. was referring to about trust with "dentists these days." Yes, it is true that no matter what business door you walk threw, you are relying on the people there being honest and fair. Dr. Patel is very through during the entire visit. Explaining to me what was going on with my teeth, what the different options would be, and also what he would recommend for me to do. He was my second opinion and confirmed what the first dentist told me. Plus he made me feel comfortable with something that I know nothing about. After moving to the coast, I was extremely hesitant to look for a local dentist since I had such a great relationship with the one I saw for 20 years in Arizona. I have been here several times before and have been meaning to write a review. Amazing staff that is always in an upbeat mood! Ive been here for cleanings, cavities and when I needed an assessment for my wisdom teeth removal. Dr Patel and his staff always make sure that I am comfortable, and have done an amazing job with the tasks at hand. Dr. Patel and his staff are by far the BEST! He was referred to my by cousin and also one of my friends (she still makes the drive to go to him even after she moved to Santa Barbara because he is amazing!) I would highly recommend him to anyone who is searching for a dentist in the five cities area. Their technology is advanced and they even have this new a machine that will numb your tooth without you feeling a thing! They have a tv screen that is above your head while you're laying down so that you can watch Netflix shows/movies while you're having your teeth cleaned or a procedure done. It's the perfect distraction If you're someone who "doesn't like going to the dentist" He has fixed my front tooth when I chipped it and did such a beautiful job. No one can even tell that it's not my original tooth. They are so gentle with cleanings and even gave me a new electronic toothbrush for becoming a new patient. The staff is friendly and fun and make the you feel welcomed. They have always been on time and have always finished earlier than expected. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Patel and his business practice. He is not only an exceptional dentist that does great work, but he cares about his patients! My husband, son and I have been seeing Dr. Patel for 13 years (son is now 19, so he basically watched him grow up over the years) and Dr. Patel is genuinely concerned about my son learning to be an adult (learn a trade, get a job, get his license, be responsible, etc). Every 6 months, when he gets his teeth cleaned, Dr. Patel talks to him about these things. Not pressuring him or being mean but encouraging him to be successful. It makes me very happy to know that we have a doctor that cares beyond what he gets paid to do. He has always gone above and beyond for my family. I am shocked to see any negative reviews since he is all around awesome. His employees are great, his office is super clean and cozy. To top it off, they upgraded their system so now you can get email/text/automated phone calls (your choice) to remind you about your appointment. Who else can say they love their dentist? I hate to write this report but I don't want people to have a similar experience. Yes, he and the staff are very kind. However, I came in for a simple upper molar cap replacement. In order to "get the bite right", he drilled on the perfect cap just below it. 2 weeks later that cap cracked. He wanted to make it right so I went back. He drilled my natural tooth down to the gum line on both the upper and lower molar and told me if they didn't hold, I would have to pay for gum surgery to make room for the cap which would cost thousands. This wouldn't have been necessary if he had not drilled my natural teeth to nothing when I had had caps on them previously for decades. For a great staff and pleasantness, yes, a 5, but now I will be faced with a huge bill since both of those caps have chipped off as well. I understand dentists have to practice to get things right. Perhaps this yelp report may help him in his practice to not take off so much of a person's natural tooth which leaves them with no options. read more
