    Fresh sun dried herbs 2.99!
    Louise B.

Best prices, smaller selection than Punjab Food Ctr on next block but would go here first then to PFC if you cant get everything Persia also has fresh large flat breads in back, olives and sun dried herbs/blends for $2.99.

    overcharged receipt

I have shopped at persian foods at 15th & Lonsdale for many years for their good price and fresh foods. However, the store made frequent mistakes on the receipt by overcharging. In the most recent one, I was charged 25$ for two grapefruits instead of 2$. The same problem occurred several times in a year by overcharging 2-5$, not counting those times, I forgot to check the receipts. Making mistake is human, but making the same mistake repeatedly just say sorry only discredit a business. Hope Persian foods business owner take the issue seriously and find a solution, not only say sorry to get rid of their customer.

Tiny storefront - but a much bigger store than it looks from the outside ...

I decided to take fruit salad to my book club tonight, and half-way through realized it needed a punch of color and some texture ... So I walked around the corner to see what I might find close by, and entered Persia Food Products with a little bit of hope for green grapes and bananas. Wow, was I ever surprised at how big the place is! It keeps on going back further and further! I found kiwis (reasonably priced at 3 for a dollar and ripe enough to use immediately) and bananas (mostly greenish, but a handful of yellow ones likewise ripe enough for immediate use). I also found a huge assortment of packaged kits for Indian dishes, oodles of kinds of tea, an array of "health water"-looking bottled drinks, a whole wall of bulk nuts & dried fruits, and a rather generous produce area & cooler at the back, with veggies and herbs and Krema yogurt, oh my ... Krema yogurt is a recent love affair for me, although they only stock the plain variety (I asked the kind gentleman who was sorting parsley into bunches and actually tossing the icky bits - added bonus point for produce freshness). I also noticed that there was a steady stream of multicultural clientele during my visit - by which I mean I was not the only blonde white person in there - which kinda tells me that the good people of the 'hood knew about this place already, so why didn't anyone ever tell me before? *never again lugging heavy produce back from afar on the bus*

Great coconut oil for rock bottom prices. Fresh and high quality.

It is located right next door to Kim's Mart and is accessible via a flight of stairs leading upwards. They carry all sorts of Japanese goods. I picked up a few bottles of pink coloured Sakura cola there, and some prepackaged seasoned kelp which I like using at home to make onigiri. Usually I do it all from scratch using dried up sheets of Dashi Kombu. The prepackaged ones will save me a lot of work the next time I want to make them! We also found many items that were expired or close to their expiration date. There were huge discounts on these items. (eg. boxes of powdered drink mixes) We're fine buying these kinds of products as the "Best Before" dates don't necessarily mean "No Good after..." to us! I appreciate that this store openly admits that these products have expired or are near their expiration date. Gotta love the honesty! Quite heartbroken to learn that this place has been put on the market and may be gone soon. Boo hoo! We only just discovered this hidden gem. If this place does go, hope that we can squeeze in a few more visits before it's gone!

I'm from the Bay Area and we have our fair share of Japanese grocery stores (shout out to Niiya in Japantown in San Francisco) but I was very excited to see the selection here. They even had Japanese canned drinks stored hot like in Japan! The take away Japanese desserts also looked good. This place is right on Robson street so a great place to grab a snack, drink, pick me up while shopping. Prices seemed reasonable. One caveat is that it can get busy in here and the aisles are small so it felt a little crowded but that's sort of like Japan as well lol so not a big deal for me. Added to the ambience. after checking out winners and wandering around lansdowne centre, i was pleasantly surprised to see…read morethat t&t supermarket was open. for some reason i had confused the closure with another richmond location that had permanently shut down, so it was a nice little surprise while walking through the mall. when i stepped inside, several staff were busy unboxing and stocking shelves. carts full of products were waiting to be put out and boxes were stacked along the aisles, giving the sense that the store was getting ready for the evening rush. even with the activity, everything felt organized and easy to navigate. this location is one of the largest t&t stores in canada and it occupies the former target space at lansdowne centre, which makes the layout feel especially open and spacious. the wide aisles stretch across what used to be the big box floor, and the selection is massive. you can find just about everything here, from fresh produce and live seafood to meats, frozen foods, sauces, and pantry staples. the snack aisles alone are worth exploring if you enjoy browsing asian treats and drinks. there are also dedicated counters for deli items and meats, along with a large prepared foods section offering chinese bbq, dim sum, sushi, and hot meals ready to go. it is definitely the kind of place where you might come in for groceries but end up leaving with dinner. unexpectedly, there are even shelves with kbeauty products mixed in with the grocery sections, which adds to the feeling that you never quite know what you might discover while wandering the aisles. after my initial shock to find this t&t is open for business, i remembered i was running dangerously low on coffee. after spotting my favourite instant vietnamese coffee, i ended up grabbing as many boxes as i could carry in my arms. visiting t&t always feels like a different kind of grocery shopping experience. i especially enjoy coming around chinese new year when the store fills with festive decorations and displays, and it becomes the perfect place to pick up things like hello kitty red envelopes. their mooncake displays during the mid autumn festival are also impressive, with rows of beautifully packaged gift boxes ranging from traditional styles to snowy skin and mochi like varieties. overall, this is a great place to explore if you enjoy asian groceries, snacks, and specialty items. with its huge selection and spacious layout, it is easy to lose track of time while browsing, and it is definitely a spot i will keep coming back to whenever i am in the area.
