A first time experience there for each of us (though she had been into one of their other stores). We were certainly not disappointed with the wonderful variety of products -- both the familiar, and the rather unique to our usual supermarket shopping experiences. The store was certainly well-stocked. And many of the displays -- whether offering organic products, or not -- were interesting to see. I had expected to find some higher prices for items I know (= by identical brand and product), and purchase elsewhere. And from the time I had to look 'where' and at 'what' in the store, this was certainly confirmed by my observations. For us, going into this 'Choices' was an inquisitive, first time experience -- a brief look about, and we enjoyed that. We had not discovered a new-to-us supermarket for any regular future shopping. But it was one that could find us going back for some of their 'specialty', and/or difficult to find items as required.

As a West Ender, I find this market to be a lifesaver when I realize I'm shy an ingredient for a…read morerecipe, or I "need" to run out for a late night snack. The caveat is that one must pick and choose amongst an assortment of good- and poor-quality produce. Sometimes the deals here are phenomenal - in the summer, they might have beautiful heirloom tomatoes at bargain prices - at other times, the peppers are all withered and the potatoes are sprouting. Danial, the young man who's usually behind the counter, is friendly and welcoming. If I do run into quality issues with a purchase he has no problems in accepting returns. I live a couple blocks away so for me it's a minor deal, but I can see it being a problem if you live further away. 3.5 stars.

Have been here many times over the years but will no longer support this family-run business…read more The older lady at the till consistently looks unhappy, is unfriendly when interacting with me (doesn't say a word), and makes it quite obvious she doesn't enjoy providing my receipt despite me asking for it and having my hand out (she puts it down on counter like she's afraid to touch my hand, instead of giving it to me). The younger man (I assume son) has made some belittling remarks about my purchases in the past, seemingly chiding me for not spending enough in the store. I don't appreciate this approach to customer service or the disrespectful loudmouth delivery. The prices for some items are reasonable but the quality isn't always fresh, while other items I consider grossly overpriced. Overall, I rarely have a pleasant experience here so will be moving on.

The store layout is slightly different then other SOFs, all the items are very well displayed and I also find that they are very accommodating in your request for smaller portions when asked (Both Meat and Seafood department) Staffs are very helpful and friendly as they will also give you ideas and advices as to different cooking methods. Yes, prices are a bit higher but considering the location and the quality, and in today's economy almost everywhere you go the prices are high! Parking is available on street and also when you go around the alley, they have an underground parking that is part of the building, make sure you park at the right spots as some are reserved for "Online Shoppers".

This is not a big Choices Market, but what they do have in stock are inspirational ready made…read moredishes for one or a family as well as unique products. The staff are courteous and helpful. There is a small parking spot that becomes busy during peak times, but there is also street parking around that is free. When I don't feel like making anything, I enjoy coming here to look at the ready made salads, sandwiches and meat pies at the deli. They also have a variety of ready made soups that you can heat up. Prices are on the higher side, but the ingredients are not skimpy. I bought a salad for $8 and it had a lot of tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and more importantly thick slices of bocconcini ! During the holidays, such as Thanksgiving, they have ready made meals that contain turkey slices, stuffing, cranberry, gravy, glazed carrots, ham that you can purchase for one or for two. They also have a few of these in family sizes if you just want to concentrate on making the turkey and want to buy the rest. The last thing I like about this place is the meat. At times, they have specialty meat items such as a Thanksgiving Turducken for $42 or a small top sirloin roast for around $20. I like the fact of trying it for the first time in a small size to see if a recipe works.
