Hands down, the best Persian kebab in Toronto. They have a secret that nobody else can replicate. However, for this very reason, the kebab must be eaten fresh in the restaurant. Absolutely fantastic food! I had a combo kabob with perfect rice and salad. The manager was wonderful- service was very fast. Food was freshly prepared and some of the best I've had since Tehran. We first noticed this hidden gem on Mother's Day after lunch at Baton Rouge. This unit has changed owners a couple of times over the last couple of years and the current name is not far off from the previous, but they assured us, that they are new owners. As part of my heritage, this is my comfort food! Last week my craving hit, so hubby stopped by on his way home from work. He ordered 2 Vaziri (1 skewer of chicken kebob & 1 skewer of ground beef koobideh kebob) and a large salad. The kebob was insanely good! Seasoned & cooked so well, rice was almost as delicious as my mom's (shhhh don't tell her i said that, lol! They tossed in 2 free cans of coke. Also, my hubby was offered complimentary soup while he waited - which he loved! Great family owned business, the owners are very warm & hospitable. I love that they offer party package meals - perfect for family get togethers etc. I was worried that the food wouldn't be warm, but even with a 20 min drive to Markham everything was still warm! Pricing is fare because you are getting good quality beef. chicken & rice and a generous portion. If you want to pay less for this kind of food, i'm sorry but you will get what you pay for and i assure you, you wont be getting good quality food when the price is cheap. A full 5 star deserved there food is incredibly delicious and full of flavor, they are definitely generous and give big portions. This is my favorite persian restaurant!! I love supporting family runned business's, the mother sister and brother are all friendly-loving and welcoming its very warming energy, feels like home. I don't write about anything but Korean Fried chicken; however, I had to make an exception to write a review for this gem called Persian Top Meal in hopes they will never close down this business! DEVOURED: Koobideh Mix- one skewer of ground beef + one skewer of chicken breast on a bed of basmati rice. Side of salad and complimentary soup. $12.99. Absolutely delicious! Inside the box came with a seasoning powder and some butter for the rice and meats. So juicy and charred to perfection. EXTRAS: Takeout and dine in options. I was sitting down waiting for my takeout when the man behind the counter handed me a small bowl of soup. What followed was me sitting there in awe over the delicious soup I wish I knew the name of. It was lightly seasoned but packed with flavor. The soup was probably given to patrons while he made the rest of the meal. Absolutely generous of him, as it was delicious. VERDICT: I decided to write this as I know restaurants are hard to maintain and to keep open without the business. It saddens me when Insta-worthy places with mediocre food do better than businesses that actually dedicate solid work to their services. Because I went at an off time at around 3:30PM, I don't know how well this place does during lunch hours but I hope it's packed and thriving with office people in the surrounding buildings. I've had take-out a few times now from Perisian Top Meal. Twice now, my chicken was undercooked. The koobideh they make is really good - jut a bit over seasoned with pepper. Rice is not the greatest, i felt it was over cooked and under seasoned (needs a hint of salt and butter). I was also surprised that they close so early on Friday & Saturday evenings. Found this hidden gem while staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. Super fresh and delicious. I had beef tenderloin w half salad half rice,my husband had the lamb shank.Cooked to perfection ,huge portions. All homemade dressings and basmati rice with saffron was terrific. The couple who own the restaurant were lovely , we were served soup and dates and Persian tea for dessert. Would absolutely recommend and will return again when we return to this area. read more
