Additionally, as of recently I had grown less than satisfied by the service at the nail salon that I had been a regular at for years. So a combination of factors is what had me on the search for a new nail salon that I could count on. I've now been here three times and each time I'm so happy with the quality of work and service. My fiancé and I came here on 12/11/24 to have our nails done for my best friend's wedding which was yesterday on 12/13/24. I was told my Gel X nails would be $65 and basic pedicure was $38. They ended up charging me $85 for my gel x nails which I was not told but I still paid it and tipped 30% since it is the holidays. My fiancé had the same $38 basic pedicure and basic men's manicure which was $32.... for a men's basic manicure?? Also tipped 30%. Yesterday on 12/13/24, the tip of my nail completely broke while I was locking a door to the bathroom in our bridal suite. Why is a nail breaking after two days? Very bad service across the board. Huge waste of time going here. I highly recommend going to a different nail salon. I just left here with my girlfriend. I took her to get a pedicure with regular polish. The nail lady put too much polish and we waited for 3 hours and it still did not dry. They wasted a large part of our day on vacation. My friends and I had a great time here last Friday. Three of us were able to get in at 530pm on a Friday just reserving earlier in the day. There were many chairs (and tables for manis) available in the space. They were able to sit us next to each other, although it was a little hard to hear each other with the masks on. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Lots of colors to choose from, and many had gel and regular polish available in the same colors. We were given a glass of wine during our stay. It was clean. The pedi service was well done and fairly priced. Checkout process was easy. Some, if not all, techs prefer cash tip so I recommend bringing that. Otherwise they also have venmo. My only concern was parking-a lot of restricted parking during weekdays (and probably weekends too?), so read the street signs carefully! I was really looking forward to getting my nails done here. This is a review for Tiffani my nail technician. I needed the previous Gel X set removed. It had been on for about three weeks (at a different location) and it started to lift which caused my nail to break in half so I wanted to get those nails removed immediately. Before Tiffany even began I told her that I am looking for a technician who's going to all be careful on my nails. I told her how damaged my nails are. It's almost like she wasn't listening to me... She was so rough. You can see where my nails were filed. She continued to file with the machine! I had to tell her to just put gel on my natural nails so that I could give them a rest. She was clearly upset and immediately started speaking to the other techs. I'm not a linguist but if you start talking and your coworkers start laughing, an assumption can be made that you're talking about the customer. My nails came out nice. I would recommend this place to anyone. Right off the McPherson metro line, the location is convenient and the interior space is clean and welcoming. Huong is a LIFESAVER! I called panicking as I was trying to remove my gel nails at home and it was going horrible. I had to catch a flight in a few hours for a wedding and called Persimmon because I saw it was nearby. Huong took me in on short notice and got my nails done in 45 minutes-- gel removal, nail shaping, and these beautiful gel daisies. Everyone was friendly and offered me a drink right when I sat down. Yet another lame DC nail salon with poor quality work and poor customer service. I walk in and no one greets me, so I just yell out what I need and sign-in. I choose a color and am assigned a seat and a tech. My regular manicure took 15 minutes, not including drying time. This place still soaks your nails, which is not good for them, and the water was freezing. My tech did not know how to handle a neon color, so she definitely should never be allowed near nails again. Neons take some time to understand. The differing opacities on each nail and poor application means I left miserable and unhappy, once again spending money on a poor quality service. I appreciate that they have wine, but much to my chagrin, I was never offered anything to drink by my tech. Even in VA, where ridiculous laws prevent wine in salons, I've always been offered water at least. The only good things about Persimmon are the location and dope R&B soundtrack (how many salons do you hear "Whip Appeal" in?). Because of Dee Dee, this place might be my new go to nail salon. I had seen the reviews on yelp about her so I decided to check her out for myself. I actually came to the shop when it first opened up a few years back and it was nice but ended up going to a nail shop closer to my house because I found a great nail tech there. Unfortunately she left and I never got her info. Anyways, Dee Dee is very attentive and meticulous with the way she does nails. She is also very accommodating and friendly. The shop itself is large and clean. They have a huge selection of nail polish! It was very hard to choose what color I wanted but I can be indecisive at times lol. The other technicians there seemed very nice and accommodating as well. I am assuming the guy that was at the front desk is Leo. He was very friendly and funny. Saw a lot of good reviews on him too. FYI, I suggest getting there before 5pm because after that it does get very busy, even on Monday. I'm sure it's because it's summertime so it's high volume season and it seems like every woman in the DC wants a mani and pedi lol. My wife and I have been so busy, before we came to DC we didn't have time for pedicures. Hey, when I'm staying in a beautiful hotel? I need to have what I call hotel feet. I need my heels worked with a pumice stone to make them soft. Guys, you're going to climb into bed with some bear claws, yuck man... And DC, do you even pumice bro? NYC, there are nail salons on every corner. To even find Persimmon Nail Spa was a task. We walk in and there is a lull in service so we're seated right away. $30 bucks for a pedi is steep. They offer free drinks, even alcohol? That's a 5 star for sure. Yeah... My nail tech comes over and turns on the water, its cold? I tell her its cold and she does nothing. She's busy talking to her friend in another language. STFU and pay attention to me. If I wasn't with my wife, afterwards I would have put her on blast. I pay a $5 upcharge a hard scrub treatment. The nail tech puts on my feet a high potent gel. I've used this treatment in the past, the tech would apply the gel and then cover my feet with plastic booties. Let the gel get everything all smooth and then use a stone to scrub off dead skin. Not at PNS. My tech slathers on the gel and then immediately takes a food grater (?) and starts working my heels. What is foaming up and coming off my feet? Think of grating cheese. There is a lot of skin falling off, its kinda scary. The end result? First off, where is my wine!? We weren't offered any! Don't they know I'm the Brad Pitt of feet?? Friggin hosers. The end result was we each had very expensive pedicures with no booze. I've had better pedi's in New York for a lot less cash. read more

Poor Quality. Horrible/ sloppy fill-in and color. Not enough nail techs on a Saturday - 12/10/2022. I was seated and patiently waited for each of her returns to her station as she welcomed guest in, but it got completely out of hand -- the nail tech was too focused on no one leaving (extra thirsty) - she didn't focus on me as her current client. She literally made a 45-minute job last 1.5 hrs. She left her seat constantly - in the middle of painting my nails , for example -- getting wine for other people, setting up the pedicure stations, removing polish from other people's toes, etc. My nail tech was running around like a chicken with the head off, trying to "multi-task" and fail miserably. Other patrons noticed as they walked in and were annoyed and discouraged by her as well. I just moved close to the area and thought this would be my new nail salon (it's 2 miles from my home). I WILL NOT RETURN. I would rather take the drive to Arlington, where I have received quality service each visit for the past 4 years. read more

Hobrrible salon. You can see the terrible quality of the manicure in the photo. I was attended by a manicurist DeeDee who said the salon was very low on clients, yet she rushed through my manicure. When i asked for my nails to be buffed, she said that was not included in the manicure and I had to pay extra. What is worse, she used a nail file on me that was already used on other people, since they had white nail dust on them. Very unsanitary. They were all different lengths and shapes, so I politely pointed out that I would like them even. She THREW THE NAIL FILE AT ME and told me to do it myself. The owner came over and said if you don't like the work here then I should go somewhere else. I would never be rude or disrespectful to workers, as I work in customer service. My experience with coffin shape is often hit or miss and this is the most empresses I've been. They were able to take me right away for a pedicure without an appointment. I liked that they had varied options for the pedicure menu.
