I was really impressed with how analog a lot of the experience is. I loved the presentation of colors on her tv screen like being in school. Every thing was efficient. From start to finish I was shocked to know I don't do well with grey. I own a grey car anyways. From start to finish was about hour half. I loved the makeup part. I got my color analysis done by Laura and Kathy yesterday with my friend and it was so insightful! We were glad they were able to take two people at once. I got Summer Cool which was unexpected because I always thought of my skin as a darker tone. I first got an analysis of what fabric color looks good with my skin then what makeup color looks good on my skin tone. They were super detailed! The presentation they gave afterwards detailed what type of fabric they recommend, what hair style they recommend and even what clothing style to avoid. As someone who doesn't have a direction when it comes to style and doesn't know what color makeup I need to buy, I'd say that it was definitely worth the money. Another super helpful tool they used on us was a skin color analyzer that told my friend and I what color foundation we should use. This was something they seemed to be testing out, though, so I'm not sure if they will do this for every client moving forward. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and will be on the lookout for the lip products they recommended whenever I go shopping! 100% worth the money! Was really sad I wasn't able to get a color analysis while I was in Korea, so I searched here and Personal Color Lab popped up. Laura was incredibly kind from the moment we stepped in. Not only is she thorough when it comes to your clothing palette, but she also helps you find your best hair color (should you ever want to dye your hair), jewelry tone, and even the types of glasses that best suit your face. She does a great job at explaining color theory and how your results are divided up. Plus, there are individual presentations for your specific season that you can save to keep whenever you need them! If you have time beforehand, bring your makeup bag for review. Evaluation of your products comes with the price of service, so I had her look through my foundation, palettes, blushes, and lips to see if they were in my color story. I'm an artist and a fashion enthusiast, so based on my own limited knowledge I suspected I was a spring season coming in. Learned that I was a light spring for clothing and soft autumn for makeup/my 2nd best palette, so it felt good to confirm that I had the right idea. Though, the color test is especially helpful for those who don't know anything coming in--I came with a friend and she was happy about how much she learned! Her seasons are more complicated since she's a neutral with both warm and cool palettes, so she asked a lot of questions about good nail colors and makeup styles to suit her face and Laura was super receptive to all of it. Super easy to book and Laura reached out right away as soon as the online booking was done. Made our partial deposit and secured the appointment. The studio itself was on the 2nd floor above Bambu desserts. Plenty of parking was available on a Sunday afternoon. Upon entering the storefront, it was decorated very cutely with lots of pink. It felt modern and very stylish. Laura was super nice and informative, answering any questions we had. She sat with us in the beginning and went through a powerpoint to explain the process and goals of the color analysis. During the color swatching, she explained how each color would brighten your complexion or if it was accentuating your dark circles, etc. It took a bit of time for me to get it, but Laura was extremely patient and in the end, I felt that I really learned something for myself. This was such an interesting experience that I think everyone should do. I've been seeing a lot of color analysis on tik tok so I decided to book. Her studio is in sola salons but it was easy to find. Laura look the time to go through a slide to help us understand color analysis and how it works, then we fill out a questionnaire about what colors we wear and what we're trying to achieve. She then uses the swatches to see which color look the best on it. It turns out I'm a true autumn! Which is crazy bc I used to wear a lot of autumn colors back in college but now I just wear black bc I don't go outside anymore/care what I look like now, but am trying to get back to wearing clothes. After she hands u a report of like the top color palette would go good with you and mini card swatches. Amazing experience getting color analysis. I was curious to try this and so glad that I did it. It has informed my choices for makeup, clothing and even hair color in such a helpful and transformative way. Prior to this, I was going by what I have "always" thought looked good on me or what celebrities that had similar skin tone as me wore and that was not the correct approach.
