So this all started when my iPhone 13 Pro Max had the "yellow screen of death" occur. This happened because apple products do not have a lifetime guarantee and so the moment it updated the screen was no longer capable of functioning properly. My bf begins to search out for cell phone repair shops on the best deal. We get hooked into "high quality screen replacement wiith lifetime warranty". This place wasn't the best priced compared to others, however it was down the street and convenient. The shop owner fixes the screen and says "I'll even throw in a free screen cover" (I'm assuming because he couldn't price match with a better offer) and so I oblige. He quickly applied the screen cover and lets me know he left bubbles (which he did, about 4 of them) and tells me that I can simply remove the cover if I was not satisfied. I obviously remove the screen cover because. who wants bubbles on their screen? But I was happy to see my phone screen working and everything seemed to be great... until it wasn't. It started off slow at first like when I would text the letters I typed would never be correct. When I would type my passcode in. It would take forever for it to go through because it would type in different numbers. Also my screen never locked so I began to realize when I would walk or sit with my phone in my hand it would call people or open up messages, it was insanely out of control. I didn't realize how bad it was until a friend from church said I called her and left her a very long voicemail of my private conversation!! I was so embarrassed. I then went and looked at my call logs to see that I had I called many people from my contact list, people I didn't even speak to anymore! I would be on phone calls and because my screen would go haywire I would start recording and posting vids on my apps or calling other people while on call IT WAS JUST RIDICULOUS! We immediately go back to this shop and speak to the owner how this screen needs to be replaced and he grabs my phone and says 'why did you remove the screen protector... there's a small scratch so I can't do a return' , mind you he said that it was a free screen protector he was throwing in NEVER DID HE SAY THAT THIS SCREEN REQUIRED ONE he also said I could take it off since he did a shoddy job applying it on my phone. He then goes on to say he was going to check the phone and see if he can fix the problem because it might not be the screen. He 'fixes it supposedly and it seemed fine until again the problems slowly arose once again,,, all the same problems I mentioned until today where I picked up my phone and see that my whole screen malfunctioned and and is no longer usable I'm typing to the best of my abilities on this phone right now because my screen is flashing lights, yellow, with splotches of blue. I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow and will not have a phone. Based upon the unprofessionalism I first dealt with the second time I went back wanting a new screen, II already know I will not be receiving one. And would I want one? This screen is such low quality garbage I see why he'd rather play the game of blame the customer. There is no integrity here at this shop. Ironically, there is a picture of Jesus on the wall, yet this business only scammed me of 245 dollars. Do not go here. Go anywhere else for your phone needs. read more

I got both issues fixed, but afterwards the face ID feature would not work on my phone. I went to a second place for another opinion. They showed my original screen worked perfectly fine. Phone was fixed but then after 2 days had another screen issue and received no response! Most places warranty their work for at least 30 days. When I finally called instead of messaging I was told not their problem and they now they are in trouble from their vendors because of something with my screen but I had no idea until then and I don't see how that should be my fault. I went to get my wife's phone repaired and I saw Jimmy's place at the top of the list with close to 5 star reviews on Yelp. Her phone had a broken screen and a cracked back. I thought this was a great sign. I pulled up to his business but no one was there. I called the number on the door and he immediately picked up. He said he wanted my business so we met at the nearby Denny's. He took my phone and said he'll have it ready the next morning for the cost of 400$. The next morning, I picked up the phone. It looked great. The screen was on and working and the back was clean. It looked good! He had me test the phone and then I went home. About a week later, my wife's phone's screen just stopped working. It had been growing slowly more dim over the course of 2 - 3 days and finally, it completely stopped working. I decided I would give Jimmy a call. I called around 3 - 4 times and sent about 3 - 4 texts explaining the issue. No response until I had my mother call him. (Apparently my phone calls and texts weren't going through, but I don't know what to believe at this point.) She reached him, made a 3 way conference call and made an appointment to get the phone looked at again. I brought the phone to him and his first words were, "she dropped it", which was not true. He persisted that the phone was working when I had left. Then he took a look inside beneath the screen. He came back to me and said he'll have to charge me for a new screen. I said absolutely not and he said fine, but it will take 3 - 4 days for him to get a replacement screen from his supplier. I said ok and took back the phone. Upon taking back the phone, we saw that the screen was lifting. It was not secured onto the phone at all and was coming off. I called Jimmy to tell him what happened and showed him a video and he kept insisting that my wife dropped her phone. We kept the phone in the car because it was not functioning and we had no use for it. There was no way it could've been dropped and he continued to say that he is unable to reimburse us or help us because she had dropped her phone. We decided that we'd take the phone to apple store and get it professionally fixed. Definitely take your iPhone to the apple store replacement. They will fix it in a couple hours with real parts. While it costs about 150$ more, your phone will not break on you after a week. Fast forward 3 weeks, my wife's phone's back just broke. She was using a magnetic charger on it with a case and when she pulled off the case, the phone's back had a crack on it. Anyway, spend 400$ on repairing the screen and back of the phone with Jimmy, and his "lifetime guarantee" is immediately overshadowed with "she dropped it" or "you broke it". He makes you pay cash so there is no invoice stating that there is lifetime guarantee. It's just something he says to his customers and means nothing. I have attached screenshots of our text message conversations and videos of the screen coming off (low quality due to it being sent via message) and pictures of the cracked back. read more
