They were explicitly trying to avoid anything complicated. What they were sold is the exact opposite. The stove has convection and multiple advanced features they never wanted. Worse, the knobs are extremely difficult to read, making it hard to tell which burner is on or what temperature is set. For older users, this makes the stove frustrating at best and unsafe at worst. As a result, my parents can barely use the appliance they paid for. This feels like a clear case of being sold something that did not match their stated needs. We are now left trying to resolve an issue that should never have happened. I would strongly recommend being very cautious, clearly documenting what you ask for, and double checking the exact model before purchasing.

I hired the Home Depot to install a new toilet in November 2023. The home depot sub contracts toilet installs to another company (Quick Contractors). They sent a guy with no experience to install the toilet. The installer installed the toilet incorrectly and on an angle. The toilet leaked and caused thousands of damage to the floor and ceiling below. I have been given the run around from Home Depot and Quick Contractors to repair the damage. These two big companies decided to pass off all responsibility to the installers private insurance who has been ignoring my emails and calls. I have informed both companies there has been no progress or resolution in site. The contractors private insurance has claimed they have not accepted fault for the damage yet, even though it has been made clear the installer was at fault. A 2nd installer was sent out from Quick Contractors to reinstall the toilet and report back on what caused the damage. The 2nd installer clearly stated the leak was from improper installation and took pictures. Attached are photos of the toilet installed on an angle and the water leaking out of the base soaking a drop cloth. If you think hiring a big company like Home Depot will have your back with any warranty issues think again. My house is supposed to be on the market for sale but will be delayed until the repairs are final.

I like how they record your name and phone number in their computer system as it's a one year warranty on the battery and if the battery dies before 1 year you can just go back and they can look it up in their system instead of you having to find the receipt. They will replace the battery for free in this situation. The watch battery is $10.45 and it's $2.50 to reseal the watch, so $12.95 total, plus taxes. The store is next to the Tim Hortons.

The delivery service was highly unprofessional. They lied about the time window (we waited outside in the cold for over half an hour), the delivery staff appeared not to be fully lucid (they were fumbling and falling over), and they damaged both the product and my home. Despite having all the correct paperwork and photo evidence, they refused my claim for compensation. By the time I jumped through their various bureaucratic hoops and paperwork, they said it was too late because I didn't tell them on the day of the delivery (I have phone and paper records to prove that I did). They used the fact that they're two different companies (CAS and First Class Appliance Delivery) to offer contradictory advice, so when I followed the guidance of CAS, the delivery company said it was incorrect and used it to deny compensation. Their policies are designed to limit their liability, not to provide customer service. Their customer service staff are trained to sound nice while refusing to help you. Wishing you all better luck in your appliance purchases. May the people who work at these companies one day improve their services.
