I was there one month before discovering the theft, reorganizing boxes after being suddenly dumped by my ex. 90 minutes, and the manager came by and said I had to leave; I'd been there too long, and there's no loitering. "I'm working in my unit; I didn't realize it was timed." While waiting for the sheriff's dept to file a report, three homeless people ambled out the gate. I've seen all three there multiple times when I've been at my unit to get something. I wandered around while waiting for the deputy to arrive, and saw another lady obviously living in her unit. The doors to the buildings are left open, which makes climate control mute. One day I was there, the big gate was even left open. ‍

They have CCTV on the outside but nothing for units inside the building. We got no apology from the owner and within the week we got the bill for the next month. I would think twice about using this facility. I will be cleaning out our unit because those folks obviously do not care about their customers but have no hesitation in raising their rates. I guess they do not have insurance to cover the loss or if they do they will not help their customers. I also wonder about security. If you want to feel secure, I would worry about having your personal things at Deland Storage. We will be finding another place for the second unit. Many things that are lost were not replaceable. We feel violated and we feel like Deland Storage did not care one bit other than letting us know that we had been robbed.."

They were really easy to work work and there wasn't much work on my end. The facilities and property are clean and the employees are friendly. The Deland location has had a broken gate for a month now, so anyone can drive right in. It's dirty and old , definitely a fire hazard, they don't even offer insurance here. They also have a rat problem that has not been addressed. The sewer grating spews raw sewage onto the parking lot when it rains. There are some units that people live in with their dogs. There is dog waste in the parking lot that doesn't get picked up. These homeless people that decided to take up residence here think the bathroom is their own personal bathroom , taking baths in the sink and just making the bathroom more disgusting that it already is. The bathroom floor has a permanent puddle that stays on the floor. Many long term renters say she's continuously raising their rent, to the point most of them have moved out. She's very nasty, no customer service skills whatsoever. Her husband is supposed to be the maintenance but obviously that's not happening. This place is creepy as heck with the people living there doing drugs and no security whatsoever not even a gate that works. If I could give this storage facility a -5 I would. Beware
