My legs felt fantastic the next few days after this. For the cryo, I think I may need some more sessions there to see the real effects. I was in the cryo tube for about 3 minutes and yes it was freezing cold but not sure it had any major benefit for me. However, the man there was able to explain the actual benefits to me upon request. This place is great. It has friendly staff and a wide variety of treatment and recoveries. For the last five weeks, I've been consistently working out -- Pilates, weight training, handstand practice, middle-split training, StairMaster, and everything in between -- while completely neglecting the part where I'm supposed to stop and actually take care of the muscles doing all this work. So yes... I deserved every bit of what happened on that massage table today. But that's actually not why I'm leaving this review. I'm leaving this review because Gregory was EXCELLENT. From the moment he started, I could tell he had actually read my intake form. I had circled the areas bothering me, and not only did he immediately address those areas, he circled back to them three different times throughout my massage. He listened to me. He paid attention to my body. And most importantly for me -- he took charge. That matters to me more than people probably realize. When I'm receiving a service, I want to be able to take my brain out, sit it on the counter, and just be the client. I spend enough of my life being the CEO, the business owner, the professional, and the person making decisions. When I'm paying another professional, I want to be able to relax knowing, You've got me. Gregory had me. He started with my left trapezius, and BABY... The pressure was beyond what I expected, but somehow exactly what I needed. I'm someone who normally gets Thai or Ashiatsu massage. I'm accustomed to serious pressure -- people literally walking on my body and back -- so I'm not afraid of a deep massage. But today, I realized I didn't need someone's entire body weight or feet on me. I needed someone who could be extremely intentional and therapeutic with their hands. That's exactly what I got. And can we talk about the HANDS?! If you hold your phone all day, lift weights, or practice handstands, you probably know that soreness in the thick, meaty part of your palm. Both of mine were hurting. Gregory didn't just work on them -- he came back and worked on them AGAIN. Then when I turned onto my back, he took the headrest from the massage table and positioned it underneath my neck for support. I've NEVER had anyone do that. Pure genius. This was, hands down, the second-best massage I've ever had in my life. And that's saying A LOT. I'm very well traveled and have received massages all over the world, on almost every continent. My #1 is still the massage I received in Thailand last year. But Gregory came dangerously close to knocking Thailand out of the #1 spot today. The only thing separating the two is that in Thailand they climbed onto the table with me and put their knees in my back. But that was a Thai massage. Today was therapeutic massage, so we're comparing two completely different experiences. Gregory understood the assignment. He was professional, responsive to my body, attentive, and confident enough in what he was doing that I could stay completely grounded and allow him to do his job. I've experienced enough horrible massages to know when somebody REALLY knows what they're doing, and I appreciate this experience so much. This was my third or fourth visit to Tyme Day Spa. My first visit was about 3 1/2 years ago, and I've watched this place continue to grow. I love the ambiance, the music, and all of the new additions. They've even added refreshments and drinks, which was such a nice touch. Normally, I've treated massages like a birthday tradition and would come around December. Yeah... we're not doing that anymore. Five weeks of training without taking care of my muscles taught me my lesson. My body needs a regular routine of Gregory at this point. I'll be back within the next couple of weeks for a sports massage AND a Thai massage because now I want to experience everything they're offering. I recently moved from Denver, CO and joined Charlotte Athletic Club primarily for the location and…read morewalkability to Uptown. From signup through cancellation, the experience was consistently poor. The signup process was unnecessarily difficult. You cannot sign up online or over the phone and must come in person. I arrived during hours I was told a manager would be present, only to find they had left early, requiring an additional visit to complete enrollment. The gym charges $150 per month per person, with additional costs for lockers, an extra month (extra $150) due on signup, and a facility improvement fee every six months. Despite the price, there is no coat rack or place to store even a jacket. Communication is "you must pay an extra amount for lockers each month" even though lockers are framed as an optional amenity. Charging for lockers in the first place is grubby. Every gym I've attended in the past includes them for free. Pool access is advertised. The pool is actually pool access passes included in membership to the Omni Hotel pool, we were told it was to be opened fall 2025, it has remained closed. This was communicated after signup. The equipment itself is fine, but there is no water bottle refill station, and the water available specifically says "don't fill your water bottle up". It's a gym. Who wants to use a small paper open top cup when working out. Bathrooms are often not clean. If you're coming in in the afternoon for workouts, the gym maintenance and cleaning happens then, so expect some vacuuming and hammering happening most days. But my primary issue is the staff experience relative to the price point. Front desk staff are often disengaged. A trainer instructed us to re rack weights that we didn't use. When we told him they were there before we used the machine he communicated "clean them up anyways". I rack weights when done using them. For $150 a month, if another gym member leaves weights behind, and this is noticed by the staff, I'd expect gym staff to care for the cleanup of other members weights left behind. And especially the first time, just unnecessarily hostile and unfriendly. There are many more similar interactions like this with staff. After I canceled my membership and requested my wife's remain active, a manager approached her requesting credit card information, the implication being "don't forget to pay" in a way that felt inappropriate. This is acceptable at a lower priced gym. Again, it's not what I expect at this price point. This is a premium priced gym with a good location and adequate equipment, but the service level does not match. I'm switching to another gym in the area.

What disappointed me most was not the mistake itself--everyone makes mistakes--but how it was handled. I just created a Yelp account for the sole purpose of leaving this review, because I am so appalled…read moreby the lack of professionalism that I have experienced from General Manager, Maryann Niederman, at this place of business. I came to Beem this past Saturday as a returning customer with my boyfriend and used the facility as it was intended to be used. After sitting in the sauna for 45 minutes, showering for 10 minutes, and changing into new clothes we left the facility in the condition it was found, thanked the staff and carried on with our day. We were then notified almost 90 minutes later at 2:56 PM (4 minutes before the facility's closing) that we had caused terrible damage to the facility, were being charged $200, and had been banned from ever coming back. Obviously we were shocked by this notification and reviewed the photos they had attached as "evidence" which clearly indicated that their shower caddy had fallen from the wall and broken. I called the next day and spoke with general manager MaryAnn and tried to reinforce the fact that we had not caused this damage and it appeared to have fallen from the wall. She refused to believe me, told me she was "giving me the chance to tell her what really happened" and that "she had her own theories about what had happened in the room". I reminded her that we were both repeated customers to their facility and had referred multiple other customers to the business. I also asked what we stood to gain by destroying this equipment and not notifying the staff on our way out of the room? She responded saying, "well that's the question of the day...really that's the question of the weekend isn't it?". I can't fathom how any reasonable person could assume intentional damage was caused based upon these photos instead of the obvious reason that the shower caddy simply fell from a distance. I have attached the provided "evidence" used by Beem as well as our email communications so that you as a consumer can make your own judgements. However, I can assure you that my network will not be returning to this facility or any of Roger Martin's other businesses like RockBox Fitness. I have invited Roger to reach out to me directly, and if resolution is found I will be happy to work with Beem again. I truly hope this is just a training opportunity for staff lacking customer service experience. If after reading this review you still decide to visit Beem, I would strongly encourage you to take photos of the room after your departure so that you are not falsely accused of damages like myself.

To qualify for membership price you could pay $149-109 for membership plus the 899 cost of Viridescent light. Well after I tell the young girl, what I was told on the phone she said she could give me the membership price plus the 25% off. But there was no payment option, still had be able to pay almost $1,000 same day. Because the 25% off only applied if you signed that day! Wish this information was available online before driving 30 minutes and realizing I was lied to, just to bribe me to come in store!
