This place was so incredibly zen and so needed. I got to check out this spot with my fiance and best friend. We didn't know what to expect other than a sauna. We knew there was a cold plunge but that was about it. We made our appointment for 4pm on a weekday and almost had the entire place to ourselves. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We arrived on time and received a tour of the beautiful and serene facilities. There are changing rooms, showers, bathrooms and lockers to secure your personal items. The lockers are free and I thought that was a very nice touch. There are two different saunas: dry and steam. I loved both. One is more dimly lit than the other and it really just depends on your mood. We relaxed in both and it was wonderful. The biggest challenge was the cold plunge. There are 2 different cold plunges, one is slightly larger and one is essentially for one person at a time. They were only a challenge because it is a shock to the body to get into them lol. But it's so good for you and once you brave the cold for a bit you really start to feel powerful because you did it. There's a lot of other beneficial aspects to a cold plunge so that helps too. But man, do you want to jump out immediately after a few seconds. We met a remarkable couple there that helped coach us on how to stay in longer by focusing on something else and/or meditating. I managed to stay in the cold plunge for a full 60 seconds and was so proud of myself. My best friend stayed for a full 3 minutes!!! I will comeback to this place again and again and I HIGHLY recommend giving it a shot if you've never tried something like this before. I left feeling so refreshed and relaxed. We can't wait to go back.

I wasn't feeling the best on our trip to Charlotte--bad downtown hotel choice, and some questionable food that left both me and my partner in need of a serious reset. We searched for private saunas and found Suana House. So glad we did! We booked a same-day session and it was exactly what our bodies needed. We got a private room with a cold plunge + sauna combo ($200 for 1 hour and 45 minutes). I couldn't do the cold plunge this time due to limited mobility, but my partner braved it a few times. It was fun counting how long he could stay in; very cold, but definitely a healthy shock to the system! The room came stocked with everything: spa aromatherapy soap, conditioner, and soft Turkish towels. It would have been nice if we could have tried the oils in the private rooms! Major bonus: you can order tea for your session (which we immediately did). They brought it right to our room in paper cups with lids which was the perfect touch for tea lovers like us. I spent most of my time in the sauna (like I do back home) and loved every second. You can add water to adjust the heat, which helped melt away my muscle aches. I felt relaxed, refreshed, and ready to take on the rest of the trip. Another shower after was the cherry on top. I would say having a small mini fridge in the room to keep the water bottles we brought, cold, would have been a huge bonus to the private room experience. I fell in love with the Turkish towels--so much so that I'm heading back today to buy a few to bring home! They've also got a candle sale going on (10-15% off for April). My partner says I have too many candles already... but he's working right now, so let's just say I'll be picking up a few things when I go in today Definitely recommend Suana House if you're in Charlotte and need a little escape. They have very reasonable prices for public sauna experience, subscriptions, multiple visit pass, etc.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a recovery experience at Sauna House at a private event with my running group. Between teaching fitness full time and getting in my own workouts, I'm always looking for new ways to recover. The place is absolutely gorgeous and very, very clean. We got a tour and an overview of the services. I love the idea of the circuit-sauna, rinse, plunge, hydrate, repeat. It's an intentional slow down that left me feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Top notch experience, from the staff, to the vibes, and the music. This is a great time solo, coupled, or with a group. Can't wait to come back!

I have been looking forward to this opening. I visited the Asheville location in 2023 and was so excited to hear Sauna House was coming to Charlotte! They have a shared bathhouse but also have two private rooms. One for 6 and another for 10. We did the private room with 4 people and it was amazing! The room was huge. It has a 3-level sauna, a plunge pool (maybe 3'-4' deep), a shower head and a heated sofa - everything you need for the experience. The staff suggested we spend 10-15 minutes in the sauna, soap/rinse off then plunge. We did this process and got 3-4 rounds in the 2-hour timeframe. There are showers, towels, body wash, everything you need for an enjoyable visit. The changing rooms are nice and equipped with bags for your wet clothes. They offer refreshments like tea and kombucha and they have lockers for your use. This is not only a cool concept but one that comes with a lot of health benefits. Perfect for a solo recharge or group excursion. The staff is very helpful and nice. They offer memberships too which is great if you want to visit regularly. I cannot wait to return.

The best 20 bucks I've spent in a long time. The session last about 45 minutes, which you can take a break by stepping out and sipping water. The temp is also controlled inside the sauna for your convenience. Each light provides specific benefits based on individual needs, I choose the red light for detox and weight loss. I felt amazing ! The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom. There is a shower. A single shower. One single bathroom. I would think for a place like this where folks are perspiring...a lot, there would be a more modernized bathroom like you would expect to see at a spa/wellness center. Overall, I had a great experience 910

Before our massage even began, we were handed iPads to complete our waivers. While filling mine out, messages from what appeared to be their internal team chat system started coming through on the screen. One message mentioned someone "complaining about the AI bot thing again" and another referred to a "snobby couple here rolling eyes." Whether they intended for us to see those messages or not, it immediately made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I honestly should've walked out right then, but my girlfriend and I had already had a stressful week and decided to continue with the service. After the massage, my girlfriend ended up experiencing significant back pain to the point where she was wincing when touched later that night. I reached out by email afterward to address both the uncomfortable experience and the pain she experienced, but received no response for days. After finally speaking with management and then the owner, I was essentially told that no such messages existed, even though I know exactly what I saw on that iPad. What's frustrating is that I genuinely tried to approach this respectfully. I even offered to help them improve their customer experience systems and AI/chat workflow because that's part of what I do professionally. I wasn't looking for a fight -- I simply wanted accountability and a refund for a service that left us uncomfortable and disappointed. Instead, the conversation ended abruptly, and I was blocked on Instagram after trying to communicate professionally. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, especially for local businesses, but I also don't believe customers should be made to feel mocked, dismissed, or ignored.

I recently moved from Denver, CO and joined Charlotte Athletic Club primarily for the location and…read morewalkability to Uptown. From signup through cancellation, the experience was consistently poor. The signup process was unnecessarily difficult. You cannot sign up online or over the phone and must come in person. I arrived during hours I was told a manager would be present, only to find they had left early, requiring an additional visit to complete enrollment. The gym charges $150 per month per person, with additional costs for lockers, an extra month (extra $150) due on signup, and a facility improvement fee every six months. Despite the price, there is no coat rack or place to store even a jacket. Communication is "you must pay an extra amount for lockers each month" even though lockers are framed as an optional amenity. Charging for lockers in the first place is grubby. Every gym I've attended in the past includes them for free. Pool access is advertised. The pool is actually pool access passes included in membership to the Omni Hotel pool, we were told it was to be opened fall 2025, it has remained closed. This was communicated after signup. The equipment itself is fine, but there is no water bottle refill station, and the water available specifically says "don't fill your water bottle up". It's a gym. Who wants to use a small paper open top cup when working out. Bathrooms are often not clean. If you're coming in in the afternoon for workouts, the gym maintenance and cleaning happens then, so expect some vacuuming and hammering happening most days. But my primary issue is the staff experience relative to the price point. Front desk staff are often disengaged. A trainer instructed us to re rack weights that we didn't use. When we told him they were there before we used the machine he communicated "clean them up anyways". I rack weights when done using them. For $150 a month, if another gym member leaves weights behind, and this is noticed by the staff, I'd expect gym staff to care for the cleanup of other members weights left behind. And especially the first time, just unnecessarily hostile and unfriendly. There are many more similar interactions like this with staff. After I canceled my membership and requested my wife's remain active, a manager approached her requesting credit card information, the implication being "don't forget to pay" in a way that felt inappropriate. This is acceptable at a lower priced gym. Again, it's not what I expect at this price point. This is a premium priced gym with a good location and adequate equipment, but the service level does not match. I'm switching to another gym in the area.
