We're back babyyyy! Was an absolute wreck when Koya shut down especially since sushi was supposed to be my after birth meal after having my son. Was sooo happy when I saw the signs off Sierra, nearly got in a wreck because I gasped so loud & scared the sh*t out of my husband. Finally placed a pick up order the other day & as usual, they did not disappoint. We ordered tempura udon, Philly hand roll, yellowtail cut roll, D4. which is a Superman roll, golden tiger roll & miso soup, and a teriyaki chicken bento. All of this for about $60. The food still as delicious as before and definitely hit the spot! Didn't get a chance to take a pic of the food because I was too excited but will be back again very soon!

Came in for a quick meal & service was friendly & attentive. Quality of fish was nice, seared salmon a little bland but wasabi fixed that. Overall great experience.

Just like I remembered. Best place for AYCE! The salmon colar is amazing with the sauce it comes paired with.

Love the food, service. I've had Benny as my server the last few times and she's been awesome. Chicken is fresh, sushi is fire as bleep. Will keep coming back.

Amazing place!! Great atmosphere, very clean, quick service. The staff is always so kind and will make sure to come around often to check how you're doing. To go orders are quick as well. Price is reasonable and the portions are very good. Fish is good quality. Never had a bad experience. Definitely worth your time to come here!! 10/10

Honestly, I don't go here for the sushi; not because it isn't great, but because I like to go to other places for sushi. I go here for a good bento box special. This time I went for the 2-part bento box with salmon teriyaki and a crunch roll. (I don't mind it, but their salmon is more thinly sliced than other places.) Tasty! Parking could be an issue because of the proximity to Panda Express and Subway, so be ready to walk a few extra paces.

A couple came in after me and she immediately greeted them, took their drink order, and started serving them while I was still sitting there waiting. She finally walked toward me, looked at me, said she heard a bell, and went into the back without even asking if I wanted a drink or was ready to order. At that point I immediately got up and left and went to another restaurant. As a person of color, I can't say what her reason was, but I know how the experience made me feel. I felt ignored and unwelcome, especially watching people who came in after me get served right away in an almost empty restaurant. I won't spend my money somewhere I have to beg to be acknowledged. I definitely won't be returning.

The rolls came very saucy, and most plates had an aesthetic appearance. Personally, if I were to ever revisit this location, I'd only order the garlic noodles w/ shrimp & the nigiri. For this review, I will focus on the Lobster Tail Roll ($36), Gyoza ($14), and Monaka Ice Cream ($7). I arrived at Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) on Sunday (around 12:50PM). Parking is very easy. The lot is HUGE. I had a reservation for 1PM, but a reservation felt superfluous since the restaurant was VERY empty. Throughout the entire dining experience, I only noticed one other group arrive. Staff is the HIGHLIGHT! Staff (receipt says JoJo) was the MAIN superstar. JoJo charmed the table; JoJo maintained a professional, kind demeanor; and JoJo worked very hard. JoJo gave excellent recommendations, and JoJo maintained a friendly, bright smile throughout our visit. Regarding food, it felt inconsistent. The food in the beginning was plated elegantly and carefully. However, as time progressed, it felt like the kitchen was beginning to rush despite the lack of customers. Food arrived very slowly, and later plates looked a little splattered and untidy. Thankfully, most of the food was very good. It's a journey of texture, fresh ingredients, and light & bright flavors. The Lobster Tail Roll ($36) had fried lobster bits, asparagus, avocado, masago, eel sauce, and mayo. It tasted like a vegetable roll at times. The Gyoza ($14 - 6 Piece) was panfried with seasoned pork and vegetables. Tasty!! And the Monaka Ice Cream ($7) is tiny with Macaroon Shell and a small scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream. All in all, these dishes didn't feel special, but they were prepared well enough. On ambiance, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is very attractive. The location is dimly lit, very clean, and spacious. However, the music is awkward at times. There were moments where light, lovely music was playing... only for random yelling music to briefly appear... to then suddenly be replaced with a country-style song. It all felt surreal. I don't think it was intended, but I think their music playlist was accidentally switched to the wrong track. Overall, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is an interesting experience. Honestly, the only reason this review is "5 Stars" is because our waitress was EXEMPLARY. Although the ambiance and cooking staff was lackluster, the front of house is MAGIC. This is a not bad, pricey place. 4.5 out of 5

I called to let them know and they were completely understanding! When we arrived, we were greeted and seated promptly. Waters were brought to the table quickly as well. The decor in this place is amazing! They were also playing really good music! We started with the combination carpaccio which was perfect because we each got to try the tuna, salmon and yellowtail. It was delicious! Then we ordered the Surf & Turf roll which is spicy crab and coconut shrimp, topped with seared Wagyu, truffle oil yuzu, and eel sauce--absolutely incredible! Next was the Kuwada roll which is crab, avocado and tempura flakes, topped with baked lobster, eel sauce, and masago. The presentation on this one was extraordinary--and the flavor was amazing! Finally we finished with the Shrimp Lover Roll which is crab shrimp tempura and cucumber, topped with shrimp, avocado, spicy mayo, and eel sauce--another winner! Jojo did an excellent job serving and clearing plates, as well as keeping our water filled! This place is a treasure and I can't wait to go back!

The space doesn't remind me of a sushi restaurant and more of a sports bar, but the space was playing the World Cup and was fit for the occasion. Their AYCE is a great price ($39.99), excluding their premium sushi rolls. Since I refrain from ordering rolls at an AYCE, this part didn't bother me much. We maxed out all the limited items, which was very generous, however, I wasn't sure of how many rounds were available, or how many pieces total were going to be included in the limited items, so we ended up with a LOT of nigiri. Our service was great, but spotty at several times. I loved all the nigiri items, especially the peppered salmon, ikura, and halibut. I'd pass on the red clam nigiri, and the fried appetizers as they were big portions but very filling! Delicious melt in your mouth pieces of yellowtail and salmon were the highlights for me. My friends enjoyed their unagi, and our friend's daughter enjoyed all the cooked items. Overall, I could say I understand the appeal of the restaurant!

With that said the food is always amazing. We have been dining there for a long time and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this place based on that. However I ended up losing my cool the last time we went. I ordered the all-you-can-eat service. The waiter brings the menu and I fill it out splitting the order into two rounds to pace myself and enjoy the food. The first round wasn't even completed when the waiter brought the menu back and left it at our table. I thought that was odd but figured maybe the chefs mark down what they need to make then they return the menu in case there needs to be any adjustments. About 20 minutes pass without the waiter stopping by to check on us or grab the menu. I look around and the chefs aren't making anything. They're looking around and hanging out at the sushi bar. That's when I began to realize that they aren't continuing with my order. The waiter comes back (finally) and I asked him why the menu is at our table when nothing is being made. He says "you got two rounds" and when I explained I didn't even get all of the first round he swiftly grabs the menu and runs it over to the chefs. At this point I'm irritated because we had somewhere to be after dinner and we would have had plenty of time to enjoy the food if there wasn't a long delay with absolutely nothing being made. I just figured "ok, it is what it is." Next thing I know our table is being flooded with the entire order all at once (made in a rush once he realized what happened). We had to get going so we asked for the check and a couple of boxes. I figured since he messed up he would just bring the boxes and we would pay and leave. When he brought it he charged us a "to go" fee as well as full price for whatever I didn't get to finish. I called him out on charging me all of the extra money and fee and asked him why am I getting charged when he's the one who dropped the ball and there was a huge delay on getting served. He keeps repeating himself "you have to pay because you're taking it to go." So I keep telling him he needs to adjust the bill because of what he did and how it caused us to just sit there with nothing being brought out for a long time. He repeated himself once again and that's when I lost my cool and started showing my anger. I told him we were just going to let the food go to waste then because I'm not paying extra when I shouldn't have to. As I got up to talk to the cashier about the extra charges (still visibly angry) the owner himself came over and comped the entire bill. He really didn't have to do that and I kept insisting on paying the bill just without the extra charges but he refused to take my money which did make me feel bad because that wasn't my intention at all. I love this place but the waiter screwed up which was actually our first bad experience in all the times we've been there. So if the owner sees this - this is what happened. I'm sure the waiter probably left out any details about him screwing up and told it like I wanted to take food to go without being charged for breaking the all-you-can-eat deal. I am grateful for the owner's generosity to rectify the situation (and get me out of there) and the amazing food but the waiter probably didn't want to take any blame so he wasn't trying to see what he can do to solve the problem with management himself which is what caused me to go off. Again, this place is awesome. The food is great. I just needed to explain the situation and why things happened the way they did.
