At one house I had squirrels in my attic and while the previous owner had another company block most of the entry points they missed some and Ryan solved the problem and installed a one way door so the squirrels could not get back in once they left. The previous owner used poison and that left a few dead carcasses in the attic. As import as being good is, just as import is being honest. Ryan will only recommend and do what is needed. If there is another trade like a roofer that can fix a problem better than him, he will recommend that - this is being honest and recommending to customers what is best for them. Do not use this company! We feel scammed out of $800+! I…read morecontacted this company for flea extermination in my mom's house and yard. They quoted us $200 -575, and then, said that it would be $575 + $175 + GST so to start with, it was expensive, but who wants fleas, right? We wanted it done fast and they were registered on Yelp and with Better Business Bureau and they had some good reviews... I thought I'd done my research. 1. The guy who showed up arrived on foot with a gas mask and spray container. He said that he parked down the street. I saw him leave by foot with a guilty look after I paid him and I swear I saw him drive past in a taxi! 2. He checked for fleas with his flashlight by looking up at the ceiling in one closet. I said that I had just shaken the bath mats and found one, so he picked one up and shook it. He didn't seem to know what he was looking for and he told us that the pest control spray would attract the fleas and that they would take it back to their nest and that would deal with them. Nest?! Fleas don't 'nest'. I should have canceled the appointment right there. 3. He had us leave the house and came out in 10 minutes. "All done," he announced. 10 minutes to spray all door frames and baseboards in a 2000+ sqfoot house? Well, what do we know. We've never dealt with this before. We've never hired exterminators before.... 4. The lady I spoke to on the phone said that we would need to be out of the house for 5-6 hours. "Sam" (short for "Hassam" from Surrey) said, "No, a couple hours only." Hmmm. 5. My 80 year old mom paid the total bill with a cheque and he left. That's when I returned to see him walking away and then, driving away in a taxi. I called the company back and spoke to the 'lady'. She became very defensive and said that it was up to me to do my research and that was my fault. Then, she said that they have to be properly accredited to be approved by Better Business Bureau, and tried to assure me that it would take time and that they would come back if the flea problem was not corrected by 6 weeks... We ended up hiring another company 2 weeks later as the problem was getting worse. What a disaster.

June 22, 2024 I am…read morepleased to recommend Hassan and Sobia's services. Both Hassan and Sobia are very pleasant to talk to and very professional in scheduling appointments and completing work. I initally requested help with a squirrel problem in our atttic. This took about 7 or 8 visits by Hassan to repair/close entry points in our roof, set traps to catch the squirrels, and then several follow-up visits to inspect the attic to make sure squirrels had not returned. During the intial visit and survey of the roof and attic, Hassan pointed out some other issues he noticed: 1) there were several bee nests in the attic ---so I hired Hassan to remove the bee nests. 2) the gutters were full of debris from recent windstorms --- so I hired Hassan to clean the gutters. 3) one of the down pipes attached to the gutter was detached and bent --- so Hassan fixed that. 4) one of the soffits was hanging down a bit so Hassan fixed that. I always appreciate it when someone comes to provide a service and at the same time, points out other unrelated issues that could be a problem. This guy litterally charges double of what any other exterminator charges. He quoted me $1500 to do…read more6 rooms. I got 4 other quotes that ranged from $800 to $900 for the same job. Please note: we previously used this guy twice before and not only did he grossly overcharge, but each time increase his rates over a 2 year period. Each time he shows up with 2 liter spray bottle and spend 20 minutes spraying. He never got rid of them and got literally $3000 per hour. That's right...it's not a type-o. Do the math. No loyality discount for repeat customers either. Finally we hire a real exterminator company and they charged us $850 for the same job but their guy shows up with a 20 lb tank and spent over an hour. The bugs are now gone and we are very happy with the next exterminator. The actual exterminator technician for this new company actually lives in Chemainus. Steve and Antex is just a pathetic display of taking advantage of people who are desperate because of their infestations and it's sad and wrong. No moral compass. Totall ripoff.
