Wanting to socialized while working off some of his energy we decide to place him in day care. We originally placed him in a different day care. Discrimination is the only work I can use to describe our experience with them. After just a hand full of time they asked us not bring him back cause he was" too big." That is all they could say, there was no incident, they simply did not take the time nor had the experience handling my breed of dog Being a working we need to get our dog out, we decided try out The Barking Dog. They took the time to listen ! The day of his evaluation we explained our previous experience & who our dog personality as well as needs. They took the time to explained their evaluation process to place him in a group that fit him. Their groups are smaller than the previous day care. They slowly introduced him to the other dogs so not to over whelm him. When he was picked up on his fist day he was calmer than previously , & wiped out! We could not be more happy!

My cat was incredibly sick from her boarding stay with them. She still is incredibly sick even now and it's a week and a half later.  I completed the survey they email you asking for feedback after my pet's boarding. At the end of it they request you to email them if you had any issues before you post any reviews. I did so 5 days ago and no one cared enough to respond, so now I'm warning everyone about this awful place.  When I picked her up from her boarding stay, she was sneezing and had a noticeable foul odor when the person brought her out to me in her cat carrier.  She's needed to see her vet and hundreds of dollars have now been spent to help her get better. She's had a fever of 104.9, is sneezing nonstop, barely eating, pawing at her nose nonstop, her eyes have discharge, and her right nostril is completely blocked. Her vet said it was a upper respiratory infection and a bacterial infection. My cat has never been sick once in the almost 2 years I've had her. She's absolutely miserable still at this moment.  I paid extra for the gold package for her stay with them. If she was getting all the extra attention that is supposed to be included in that, there's no way they couldn't notice she was very ill. Then on top of that, the sheet with notes about her stay only said one thing: "She was shy at first and then turned into a purring machine." Nothing about how she ate, nor how ill she became. The fact that no one bothered to care that she was ill or notify me is appalling. She deserved way better than this. The fact that no cared to contact me about this is equally troublesome.  She also didn't come home with everything she arrived with there. This required me to have to go in and get her blanket this later in the week. They treated me like I was inconvenience when I went in to get it.  She will never board with this facility ever again! Do not trust them to care for your pet! Update: They are claiming they've called me and left me voicemail messages, which is a complete lie! Vanessa Nevin emailed me today (6 days later) and I have already responded to her. Stop lying and trying to downplay your negligence. You've made a bad situation far worse. Worst customer service I've ever experienced.

All are rescues, and have had some abuse/neglect in their pasts. Seren did an excellent job of teaching us how to work with them and meet them where they are, each one. One needs more confidence, so we worked with her on that. Another needed to learn basic commands so we worked with her on that. Our male is a mellow guy and just needed to learn how to relax and not be so anxious so we learned how to work with him. I highly recommend Seren. She really listens to you and helps you understand your dogs behavior and body language. If I could give her 10 stars, I would.

The Classes are held upstairs in Chester's slightly cramped American Legion Hall (less than 800sq ft) . There are at least 5-6 dogs in each class. The Trainer's style is very authoritative and absolute, she rushes through the commands and demo's and then has you attempt them in your cramped section of the room divided by extended wire dog pens. Our Dog is high energy and barks throughout her instructions, we were asked to give our pup a 'busy item" to keep her occupied. The busy item (Food and Treat Based) distracts the dog from receiving any meaningful training. All the dog wants now is treats without working for them. The entire class revolves around teaching the dog key words and rewarding them with food. The trainer also hates when you correct your dog with a leash pull or snap, She make you feel like you're abusing your pet by doing so. This is not my first Rodeo and Wonderpup Training conflicts with Good Field Retriever Trainings found on Youtube or elsewhere. If you have a Field bred Performance Retriever or Working Dog, look elsewhere.

I reached out to Nikki's K9 training in a moment of desperation and could not be more glad that I did! Nikki totally renewed my love for my dog and has set my dog up for success at home and in stressful environments. After the first session with Nikki, I had a whole new dog! My puppy was calmer, able walk politely on a leash, knew how to look for leadership, and follow training directions overall. I worked with 3 other trainers (private and group sessions) and a dog socialization program without any progress before I met Nikki. Nikki's program and approach is the only thing that has made a difference in my dog's behavior. On top of the training, Nikki has a wealth of knowledge in canine health and nutrition. She helped design a feeding plan for my puppy that was customized to his breed and size. Nikki has been able to answer every question I've had related to dog ownership with expertise and compassion. Most of all, I appreciate how Nikki really understands my dogs needs. She does not try to train away what makes my puppy special. Instead, she customizes her approach to align the the dog's overall motivation which makes for a much happier puppy! 1,000,000/10

We were blessed enough to work with Nikki, and I am happy to say our dog Saffie is a very different dog. She still doesn't like other dogs or new people, but she's much less reactive now than she was before training with Nikki. If you have a dog that needs a lot of help, or a dog that just needs some fine tuning, then Nikki is your answer. Thanks Nikki, and thanks Koda!

They also said they did transport to the daycare facility and boarding on occasion. It seemed perfect. I should mention that there are Kara's pet care facilities in Portsmouth, Berwick, and Falmouth. First I was asked to set up a meet and greet with one of their associates at my home so she could meet my pets. It took me many tries to get through many unreturned phone calls, but finally we did set up the meet and greet and that went well. Then I was asked to set up an app and an account before we could actually schedule any dog care. So I set up the app and the account. Then I was asked to drive my dogs to their facility to see if the dogs would "be happy there." So I drove my dogs 25 minutes to the facility. When I got to the facility I was told that they were supposed to stay there for a day assessment and then I should come and pick them up. This was not communicated to me earlier, and I had not budgeted an extra hour of driving back-and-forth. Then they would reschedule the assessment and they would come and pick up my dogs for the day-long assessment. All before any dog care could be scheduled. So, still not on the calendar. So to summarize: you need to go through a long process of scheduling a meet and greet, then you need to have the meet and greet, then you need to sign up for the app, then your dogs have to be assessed to see if they will be happy. I'm just thinking that anyone who's busy enough to need dog care is too busy for this multilayered, multi-step, poorly communicated process where phone calls, texts, and emails are returned only about half the time.

I called up Bark Busters because they seem to have amazing reviews and not a single poor review. I paid $300 non refundable first appointment fee which was very pricy just for a sit down.
