    My baby feeling lousy
    Sylvie C.

Many moons ago, my dogs got very sick from visiting the grooming salon and I swore off returning. I signed up for the VitalCare plan by Petco last year in Virginia Beach that includes free nail trims and toothbrushing amongst other benefits. We get $15 in PalsRewards and 10% off for food purchase + 20% off any grooming services, etc. You also get $20 in PalsRewards x2 for wellness visits at your veterinarian too. All in all it's a good plan in my opinion. Well, I was going to Petco in either Vienna or Fairfax during my weekly errands trip but so glad I gave the Rockville location a try again. After all, this location is walking distance from where I live, so it's a heck of a lot more convenient to swing by. Lesly in particular has been excellent at trimming my elder beagle's nails and getting my younger one's toothbrushing done. Both are particularly difficult to get either of the important grooming aspects done at home so I am so happy to have it completed for nominal costs. Lesly is always on-time and I've never had to wait for long. By the time I'm usually done at the cash register, everything is done already. It's so fuss-free and stress-free. I love it. I wouldn't hesitate anyone to get grooming needs completed by her.

No one at the desk!! Been waiting 20 mins

There was no one at the counter, we had an appointment and we waited for the groomer for 30 mins past the time. The cashier in the store pages them 3 times and still we waited!! I wouldn't choose this location to get your dog groomed. They seem like they move on their own time!

Not what we asked for. Lesson to be learned. Stick with what you know!

Now this happened a few months back. But I have not had time to post until now. We took our two babies to this location as a last minute rush timing situation. I specifically requested don't cut there hair fur to low. Also spike fluff top. I was assured it's no problem and we would be happy. Three hours late my husband called me on FaceTime. When I saw our babies I screamed. All there hair was basically gone. Long story short we didn't pay for the hair cut and bath. Where given a coupon for next two visits. Apology from manager. I told me husband to leave immediately and toss the coupons in garbage. He being the kind guy that is is gave the coupons to some stranger shopping in the store and still tipped the groomer for his time. I was a bad experience. But you live and you learn.

May the Force be with you! New dog toys.

This review is for the grooming services at the Rockville, Maryland location. I brought my puppy in for her first grooming that included a bath and trimming of her face, nails, and bottom area. I gave the groomer my phone number and asked him to call as soon as he was done. I was told the puppy cut would take 45 minutes. I was nervous because this was her first experience being groomed. Two hours later, I spent another 45 minutes trying to reach the grooming salon and called the store, asking them to check on her. I finally received a call three hours after I dropped her off. I was frustrated that the grooming salon had never called me back. About 4 days later, my puppy had horrible diarrhea and was lethargic. I took her too the vet and she was running a fever. The vet put her on antibiotics and a special diet to help her recover. The vet said that she had contracted the illness from the grooming salons holding crates. She does not have any other exposure to other dogs and that was the only way she could have contracted the virus. My vet bill was $150.00. I called the store and asked to speak to the manager-Lish. I never received a return phone call from Lish or any other representative from Petco. I do not recommend the grooming salon and would never take my puppy again.

Big sale on my favorite Lizard!

Out of all the pet shops I frequent for Bearded Dragon Food, This is by far the best location of local pet shops. Others have mounds of dead live bait that sits & sits for weeks to rot that unexpected buyers do not investigate before purchasing. Today would mark about the tenth time I've been to this location and a member of the staff actually looked and declared my meal worms were in fact alive ! I believe it was the manger today that inspected my meal worms

Rockville store is filthy and unsanitary, specifically floors have feces on it all over the store. Groomery staff specifically the lead is not able to work with large dogs. Brianna seem to be scared of big dogs. On multiple occasions while another groomer performs service, Brianna stops service because she feels scared. Store manager refusing to acknowledge groomery issues. groomery lead refused service to my large dogs because she is scared of them. Groomer in the same facility took care of my dogs with no issues for 2 years. Hope this helps all fur parents with xxlarge puppies.

My little one is an animal fanatic and wanted either a guinea pig or hamster to add to her "pet" collection. With no guinea pigs for sale, she opted for a hamster (gross). The store clerk assisted my girl in getting her hamster, choosing supplies and bedding. He seemed very knowledgeable about hamsters in general - speaking about their life span, likes and dislikes, and their habits. I was pleased with the customer service that we received and would return to this Petco for pet needs.

Not so impressed by the live animals they have because they are extremly limited unlike how it used to be before i guess covid 19 is to blame. They still maintaining somewhat a good variety of small fish and some reptiles here and there like 1 or 2 crawlers. I can abslutely praise them for the animal food sections and i believe that's what people mostly go there for....you could possibly find food for any pet animal you may have another good things is there is a vet corner where you could being your pet for check up of its not feeling so well.

I read books on dog training, watched countless youtube videos, and spoke with a number of friends who were dog owners to soak in any tips or tricks that could lend my pup to be the most obedient servant... F.Toast bum bum bum bum. Well... "I looked back on where I failed, and in every place I checked, the only common thread has been my [certain inept]" Now, I was able to train toast on a handful of things: Sit, down, paw, stay ohhhhhhhh ohhhh (even before Biebs made it popular), and a handful of other commands. But there were still big problems. When anyone... literally anyone comes over my home, Toast wants to greet them, cuddle with them, jump on them, slide into the room, put her paws around them... lol. One thing she does not do is run away ;) I don't know why this review has turned into 100 hidden song references... but I'm just gonna go with it. So, after 2 years of owning Toast I decided to call in professional help. But that isn't the whole story. The whole story is after about 1.5 years of owning toast I reached out to Tomas online and he was like, great, let's set up a phone call! And then I waffled and waffled and forgot to call him. Then I was embarrassed about so much time had passed... and then the time just got longer that I didn't schedule that phone call. And then maybe 4 months after I originally had reached out... I wrote him an apology email and he was like.. "It's ok! Let's chat!" Me: Smiling face with sweat emoji on temple. So I schedule one training session with him, and I have to be honest. I think that this should be called a consultation. We were chatting more about the goals, Toasts behaviors, etc then really getting into the nitty gritty hands on training. Which is FINE! I mean... we 100% needed that session to really start to map out how we were going to work together. But... I will say we probably did equal to or more diagnosis then hands on training. So I was a TINY bit apprehensive to schedule more training sessions. BUT I took a leap of faith, and it couldn't have paid off more handsomely. After that first session/consultation, we've done nothing but hands on training during the entirety of our sessions. I scheduled 3 more sessions with Tomas after that initial consultation/training and each one has been jam packed with learnings, eye opening experiences, and most importantly growth in my dog Now if you've researched dog training before, you'll likely know that you're really training yourself as well as the dog if not more. And one of the MOST important things is repetition of the trainings. Also... basically training your dog is a complex pattern of bribing your dog with a near endless amount of small rewards. So, get ready with a lot of small treats just FYI. Tomas has been a joy to work with. He's very even keeled, he models the training and then puts you in the hot seat (which is 100 percent completely necessary in training)... I mean... for anything to work you're gonna have to continue to train after Tomas leaves. Tomas lays the foundation... and you start building the home. Hopefully a home one day where my puppy will immediately go to her bed and stay there when guests come in. We're getting better and better, but it will take a little time... and some tenderness. One day "We'll walk upon the water, we'll rise above the mess" He is receptive, easy to work with, punctual, returns messages and phone calls promptly. He has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He has a sense of humor. I mean... definitely high recommendations for working with him. The guy knows what he's doing and it's quite obvious. And btw when I said Tomas lays the foundation... basically he's one of those new fancy 3D Printer concrete robots that builds a house in like 16 hours lol. Arn't those SO cool btw? I love watching those videos. Anyways, definitely giving my full endorsement. I found Tomas on Yelp here when I was looking for dog trainers, and I will add my voice to the small handful of very positive reviews already on his page. Looking forward to continuing to work with him. We have our 5th session next week. Definitely one of the best investments in myself and my puppy I've made in sometime.

The gentleman on the phone was so helpful and informative and made it easy. When it came time to drop my dog off the staff were so friendly and kind, and they were extremely attentive and took detailed notes of all the items I brought with my dog and any of her quirks (e.g., severe allergies, doesn't play well with others, etc.). The space was so clean and large. I felt very reassured dropping her off as I went on vacation. When I came back to get her, the staff was helpful and, again, extremely kind and talked about her time there with details that were definitely unique to my dog. She was happy, healthy, clean, and well groomed. All of her toys and leash items were accounted for and they even ran a toy out to my car that they had forgotten in her kennel. Bottom line: 5/5 do recommend!

Two years after boarding my dog at Olde Towne Pet Resort, I am still dealing with health issues…read morecaused during her stay. I am not one to complain, especially in a public forum, but the lack of care my animal received was egregious. During her stay, my dog experienced an ear infection so severe that she developed acute dermatitis from scratching. The sore or 'hot spot' on her cheek was unmissable when we picked her up, but The staff tried to pass it off as if everything was normal. The groomer who prepared her for pickup had the gall to pretend he didn't notice a massive weeping sore on her face. For her condition to have reached this point, she would have needed to scratch constantly for days and not be noticed by the staff that were supposed to be spending 'cuddle time' with her daily. As anyone who has ever had a pet with an ear infection can attest, the behavior is far from subtle. Any remotely observant and competent person would catch it. Worse, I reviewed the update photos that were sent throughout her stay, and red spot on her cheek is visible in every shot and getting progressively worse. This means that the staff overseeing playtime let an animal run around with blood on her face for days without investigating. This is utterly unacceptable. My dog also came home with constant bouts of diarrhea that we assumed this might have been a bug she picked up in boarding, but it turned out to be colitis. Our veterinarian confirmed that this was most likely stress-induced. It has made me wonder what trauma my dog experienced while being boarded that would cause her to develop a permanent bowel condition. Her colitis has caused her enormous suffering and I am still trying to manage the condition years later. As others have reported here, the staff did not feed my animal the way they were directed, and returned what was supposed to be an empty bag of dog food to us half-full. So to recap, they underfed my dog in addition to neglecting an ear infection and resultant severe, pus-weeping skin infection, then tried to pass my pet off to me as if nothing happened. Whatever they did or neglected to do for her led to a chronic bowel condition that has rendered her partially incontinent. I was appalled by the dishonesty I experienced from the staff, but decided at the time to let it go, and simply swore never to give Olde Towne my business again. I figured my dog would bounce back, but she didn't. Reflecting that she has never been the same and that she experienced pain and neglect at the hands of the people I entrusted her with, I feel the need to let other pet owners know what they might be in for if they board their animals here.

Pebbles (blue heeler, 1.5 years old) would never listen to me, would not sit or lay still, and had a lot of other obedience issues that caused her to be stressed or confused. She was a TOUGH dog to train and I was concerned I couldn't find the solution for her to get basic concepts. This view has completely changed since working with RSK9's 3 week program. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. This isn't a regular class or something you just pay for; it's truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together. Side note: it's worth doing 3 weeks versus 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark is when Pebbles really started to understand her marks and cues. From here there is so much more that can be refined and Brandi/Perry really capitalize on that threshold being crossed!

Brandi & Perry were amazing! Highly recommend working with them…read more We adopted a one year old mixed breed, Tuck, a few months ago. He's very sweet but started to get rambunctious to the point that my remote work felt challenging. He also started jumping or freezing when he saw other dogs on walks, and he occasionally barked or growled and men. We weren't sure if it was the start of aggressive behavior or just the result of a shelter dog that hasn't been exposed. After doing our research, we decided to do the 3 week behavior modification board and train program. We were really impressed from beginning to end. They shared a ton of information upfront, walked us through their facility (we opted to drop him off) and sent pictures and updates every evening. It became clear right away that they both have a very deep understanding of dogs, as well as a real respect and love for them. Tuck loved them! The best part was the "transition" day when Perry brought Tuck back and spent the day teaching us everything they've worked on together. We are first time dog owners so generally going in pretty blind. Perry gave us a 101 on dogs and the importance of clear and consistent communication. He talked through all of the layers of training and how/why it is effective. We felt this part was SO helpful for us to understand how to be better owners. Then we walked Tuck around the neighborhood with Perry guiding us and then spent time addressing indoor behaviors too. He was flexible and stayed until we felt comfortable with everything. This is a long review so the TLDR: finding a trainer is a big decision and investment so we wanted to get it right. Brandi & Perry were really incredible and beyond our expectations!! Truly worth every penny! Tuck has been doing really great at home and outside since being home. I've been able to work full days with him holding "place" on his cot, which would have been unheard of before!
