I was so glad I found Janice when I traveled to San Luis Obispo for a spontaneous weekend getaway during Labor Day weekend. I tried leaving my dog once at a daycare for a business trip I had to take in the past, and from the videos, you could tell she was not comfortable, and the staff wasn't giving her any attention. The staff said she cried a lot, so that made me never want to put her in a daycare facility again, but when I found Janice, I knew it would be different. We contacted Janice of Pet Nanny Paso to inquire about pet sitting options for our 3 Australian Shepherds at the Allegretto resort in Paso Robles, the day of our daughter's wedding, and the evening before. Janice was flexible and willing to watch the pups at the hotel or at her home, and her rates were very reasonable. Obi, Zoey and Teddy, took to her right away and we could tell she was a genuine dog person. Janice and her husband took very good care of our dog while we went to visit the Sensorio light show. They showed us around the space beforehand, it had plenty of grass for him to so his business and plenty of space for him to run around. Janice provided photo updates throughout the night which made us at ease and she helped us feed him dinner and provided updates about how much he ate when we picked him up too. She was very fast in responding and extremely flexible with pick up/drop off times. When I dropped my dog she showed me around the house and the yard, which is beautiful and completely fenced in, so no need to worry your pup will escape. Pet Nanny Paso is great! Janice kept our active pup for a week at Thanksgiving and she came home happy and the very best kind of tired. Janice has a variety of dogs in her home, from seniors to youngsters, and she manages them all with kindness and attention to their needs. She is experienced and knows what they need to thrive. We recently moved to Paso and needed someone to visit our cats while we were away for 4 nights. I found Janice though amazing reviews on Yelp and Next Door, and gave her a call. She came to our home twice a day to feed and play with our 2 cats (though one is so shy, so she barely saw him), empty the litter, bought in packages, and texted us at each visit with photos to keep in touch. We had a minor panic when we couldn't find one cat when we got home, but Janice was very calm and supportive and of course, being a sneaky cat, he was hiding in a sofa playing hide and seek! Janice is a sweetheart! She's friendly, knowledgeable with all sorts of dogs ( ex. temperament, allergies) ,well experienced and you can tell she loves dogs with the given fact that she helps out with shelters and fosters senior dogs to give them their best life. Not only that, she has a great wide open space for your fur baby to play around in her backyard and also keeps it well maintained. She was super flexible with the drop off and pick up times & communicated with us throughout watching over our Frenchie, Leo. What I loved the most was how Janice gave us a tour of the house in which he'll be staying and introduced us to her dogs to see how they would interact to reassure us. Once we came to pick him up he looked like he had a great time and wanted to stay longer, like how some kids would be after a day in daycare. At first we we're pretty hesitant since we never left our dog with someone we never met since we have him with us all the time ( like any dog parent) .. but overall I'm glad we chose her! We had a great experience with Pet Nanny Paso. We were in town for a few days and needed someone to watch our dog, Leo, for several hours one evening. Janice invited us to come by for a meet and greet ahead of time to help us all get comfortable with dropping off Leo later that evening and that worked out well all around. The property is very spacious and set up for the comfort of the dogs with many spaces, indoors and outside in a nice and clean backyard area. The dogs can roam freely to interact or to have their own space. Leo is shy as he's used to being with his pet parents 24-7, and has separation anxiety; that said, he did very well at Pet Nanny Paso. When we picked him up, he was happy to see us but not at all stressed. We could tell that he received great care and attention and were so pleased! A very special thanks to Janice and team as well for accommodating us when we arrived at midnight, an hour later than our outside estimate.
