Pet pals thrift store is an unexpected treasure! While it's a relatively small thrift store, prices are very reasonable and they have a variety of items like clothes for men, women, children, and pets. They also have glass wear, sunglasses, books, jewelry, etc. And most importantly, all the money you spend here goes to benefit the pet pal shelter, helping to offset the extensive costs to rehab and re-home pets. After browsing here, we left with some awesome goods like dog shoes (much needed in the summer), sunglasses, athletic wear, and some skirts. Staff was very cheerful and helpful as well! This is one of the last few remaining real thrift stores left in St. Pete. Central Ave used to have thrift stores that were fun to browse in but no more. Pet Pal has great prices & priced fairly and affordable, unlike some other thrift stores. They have hard working staff & volunteers who are the nicest folks. I'm an avid thrift store shopper. I'm also a person who loves to donate to worthy causes/places. This place is awesome, the items I find, the hard working staff and their customer service, the way they treat all the pets we all bring in. The manager was very kind and the people checking people out are always awesome! I love going in this place. I live in Clearwater & only get to stop & shop when I'm in the area but even though there is a GW & Salvation Army around the corner from me, I still make the drive to support this store with donations and suggest it to my friends. It's for the animals! If you were to ask a friend to name things I love, they would include thrifting and animals, so what better spot to combine the two! I'm only giving it 4 stars because I've been here a few times, and the selection can be very hit and miss. I'll encourage you to not only shop there but donate your unwanted items! I usually find at least a small trinket but be warned, it's a real thrift store. Nothing glamorous. I always throw a few extra $$$ into the donation jar at the register and it'd be really nice if you did too. Stop by when you are in the area and help out our furry friends. read more

This is my first time going to this thrift store and I just left this location about 10 minutes ago because I felt extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable. A female worker in the store was outwardly expressing her view on today's generation and how the women are stupid and shouldn't be respected by men because they're killing their babies, and how kids are going to college to get stupider. Needless to say, me, being a 24 year old college educated female, did not feel comfortable and will NOT be returning to this thrift store and advise those with any self respect to do the same read more

This small thrift store is definitely worth a visit, and I stop here on a regular basis; they merit three stars only for their small size, which results in a smaller selection of the things for which I look, but they get four stars due to the quality of that small selection, their overall friendliness and their pricing. While I find something every time I visit some thrift stores, I would say that I make a decent discovery every other time at this one. I definitely recommend them as part of a weekend thrifting expedition, as they are very close to Goodwill, Sunshine Thrift and St Vincent de Paul's - they are a perfect little stop among these others. Overall I give Pet Pals Thrift Shop two thumbs up for how well they utilize what space they have. If you are a dedicated thrift shopper you will find them worth a look. read more

This thrift store benefits pets so it's worth a visit. It has primarily clothes and books and knick knacks. The selection is hit or miss as with many very small thrift stores, but the prices are fair and the cause is good. Visit here about once a week to drop off a donation of items, and see what goodies they may have. Prices are incredibly fair, and priced to sell. I haven't found a thrift store this good in 10 years of thrifting. The staff are incredibly gracious and helpful. This store has an overall energy of welcoming and helping- everyone is always in a good mood and chatting with one another. It has a real neighborly feel to it. I've bought furniture a few times and every time without asking the volunteer staff are on it, right away with a hand truck and two helpers to load up the car. The prices are great, like the old days of thrifting before it became a hipster thing and goodwill price gauged everything. It's a truly affordable place for clothing and furniture, as thrift stores are meant to be, making everyday items available to people in need of a lower price tag. they get the product for free and you get it for a deal too. And on top of all that it's going to a wonderful cause, and helping society, rather than just taking more money from the poor and giving it to the rich (goodwill). I love that this thrift store is small. They may not have as much inventory as the larger stores, but what they do have is nice, clean and easy to find. I love that that their proceeds go towards the animal shelter. They will also pick up your donations if you email them. read more
