The groomer ruined my dog! Cut all the hair off his ears without asking me. He doesn't even look like he has ears. I don't recommend this groomer. If I had known they would shave my dog's ears I would have taken him to another groomer who could get the mats out without sheering his ears. Owner called me taking no responsibility for their error in not contacting me before taking such drastic actions without my permission. And then hung up on me. read more

Pet palace killed our dog!!! We boarded two of our dogs at their horrifically negligent facility for 9-10 days. During their stay, one of our dogs contracted a drug resistant staph infection and stopped eating and drinking. He lost nearly 40 pounds, while they sat back and did nothing until he collapsed on their last day there. They didn't even notify us until it was too late. Our dog was admitted to the dog icu at Med Vet where we spent over 10k trying to save him, but he ultimately died in agony. These people are monsters. They offered no apology, no shred of remorse. She agreed with us that the most important thing was to make sure he was comfortable and never became too stressed out . I boarded my German Shepherd in the Pet Penitentiary for around 10 days and only when my return flight was delayed did they contact me to inform me that my dog was deathly ill and needed immediate attention (they were going to give me back a sick dog on his death bed). When he arrived at the vet and they weighed him in, he had lost nearly 50 lbs since we dropped him off! He also had an infection that got into his blood and ultimately his heart. He fought for his life in the ICU for another 10 days before passing away. Pet Palace still charged me for the boarding and refused any compensation for the nearly $10,000 in vet bills to try to keep him alive. There is a special place in hell for these people!!! read more

First let me say, we have been with Jill and her staff for nearly 6 years. We moved back to the NOLA area with our then 13 yo Shih Tzu. She had the same amazing groomer in Colorado for 13 years. When we switched her these people were so kind and caring to her. She was so spoiled! No big dogs for Miss Emma (napoleonic complex is a known quality of this breed- and she was the queen!) no kennel always being lugged around by on staff member or another. She crossed the rainbow bridge in July of 2021 but not before Jill made sure she was beautiful one last time. After we said goodbye, we received the most beautiful sympathy card that EVERYONE wrote a special memory or message about our girl in. Let's remember she only came once a month! That says a lot of their character and integrity. Their love and care. In October of 2021 we adopted two new baby girls. And so the love and care the commitment continues. I'm so grateful they treat our dogs as we do, part of their extended family. To say they are anything less than loving to your baby in this establishment is simply unnecessary bitterness. To claim they are neglectful (as one review stated) in my opinion and experience is greatly exaggerated and untruthful. Lastly, if I even suspected ANY HINT of neglect or abuse (not caring for my girls in a manner that is consistent with their wellbeing is abuse) do you think I would continue to bring my pride and joys here? Let alone write this ridiculously and supportive review? This is my opinion my experience after 6 years. read more

I had an appointment for my dog to be groomed at the pet palace. When I made the appointment I told them I didn't want my dog in a kennel...I needed an early morning appointment. I specified that my dog was afraid of other dogs. She is a RESCUE. My appointment was at 8am. At 9:15 the groomers were just getting here. My dog was just being bathe. So for an hour my dog has been surrounded by about 40 large dogs..all barking at the same time.. Had I known all of this I would not have taken my dog to this place. I started bringing my goldendoodle Ollie here a month ago and I am so impressed! My goldendoodle Is still a puppy and is very shy around dogs the first time he interacts with them. Brought my 10-month corgi here for her first haircut. When I came to pick her up she was perfect! They trimmed and grinded her nails and accommodated my special requests. There were other corgis there so I felt confident the groomer knew what she was doing. I like how the dogs are free to roam about and are free to go outside through the doggy door as they please. The dogs are supervised and any aggressive dogs are separated. I can tell my pup had a good time cause she was pooped when I picked her up. I found this place on Yelp. I called up to see if they could accept my little baby, very polite on the phone, she said they could. It was my first time taking her to a groomer/doggy day care (besides a pup trim at PetSmart). I showed up, and they welcomed her with open arms and treated her like she was their own. She ran around and played with the other puppies as soon as we walked in. The staff is extremely friendly and kind. They called me and told me she was ready. I went and picked her up, they showed me pictures of her playing in the swimming pool with other dogs, which made me feel that much better about her being there. The prices vary, but for friendly service I got, the amount of time she was there, and the great job that did with her, I would say that is a very reasonable price. She did a fabulous job on my dog Oscar's hair cut and even asked me to send her the pictures I had of the previous hair cut I liked on him. The owner, Jill, is great, runs the place herself, and puts her heart and soul into it. She's made big changes and amazing improvements since taking over and even since I first started coming.
