The staff is excellent, I love the webcams, suite options, and the staff is always attentive and focused.. I never see them on their phones or distracted, and it's obvious that they truly care about the dogs. Our dog Sydney was very happy here. She has spent two days there so far and didn't mind going back. She got a good report card and we were able to see her on the oh doggy cam. The best dog day camp in town. Their staff is very accommodating and truly show a their compassion towards the dogs, know the dogs names and always seem positive. They keep their facility at high standard of cleanliness, which is so important for dog camps. (At a different camp in the same neighborhood, my dog was always coming home sick.) Additionally. Canine Connection keeps through records of every dogs vaccination records. I know my dog is entertained all day because all she wants to do is relax when she gets home. I was a good customer for ELEVEN years. I stayed with them even after the wonderful Candace left because I felt for them as a small business. The "grooms" were iffy after that. One left my baby with a clipper burn so serious that it required a vet visit. Then in December the so-called groomer refused to even bathe her because I asked her to trim her bathroom area which she continued to fail to do. She came out in a snit and remained so even though I offered to stay and hold my dog. She waited until I had driven all the way home and then called and told me to come get her. Said she had scabs and pus on her. I couldn't see anything but took her straight to the vet. It cost me $197 only to be told that he couldn't find anything wrong, either. To the owner I would suggest that an employee that costs you an eleven year customer is not good for business. To the "groomer" I would offer some advice. It isn't fair that people judge you by your appearance, but it's just the way things are. read more

Unsatisfactory grooming for an unreasonably high price. We were on vacation in New Orleans, so we had to use a local groomer. Our dog gets groomed every two weeks, so his hair is always in good shape. However, he came out of this groomer with knots that had not been addressed and with his hair still damp. Best daycare for doggies! What a great experience! We live in Atlanta and visit New Orleans often both for work and fun. We were looking for doggy day care for Cheshire, our English bull terrier while we were busy during the day. The staff is super friendly and totally on top of all the pups! Being an overprotective pawrent I was super anxious dropping him off for the very first time since we have never been apart ever since he was 8 weeks old but the friendly staff put me at ease. They are all very personable and patient with answering all my questions. I love the quick curbside pickup drop off process. Fast forward to now, my fur baby has been going to daycare twice a week and also survived his first overnight boarding. He knows when he is going to daycare and gets so excited when we pull up to the facility. I love the fact that I can just check on him anytime I want throughout the day with their 24/7 webcams. He is making tons of friends at doggie daycare and comes home super tired. I purchased the 30 day pass to start off with since it gives you more bang for your buck rather than just purchasing by day. Beware of the dog groomer, Riley. She is the only one you can get in with for grooming. I had a beautiful poodle and asked her give my dog a close shave on its face and she completely shaved my poodle down to the flesh. Before that, she complained about matts that weren't even there and cut out entire areas of his coat. We brush our poodle every other day and never have had this problem with another groomer. I have since, moved on but felt compelled to give this review. Their prices are also much higher than other dog groomers. Very expensive but Riley the groomer is the one to look out for! read more

I would travel a lot during this time and sometimes my dog simply couldn't go this is the only boarding that he didn't come home extremely exhausted and overstimulated. I still worried sometimes but the webcams helped a lot with that part. he learned so much during daycare. the pool time he would always refuse so I gave up on that but signed him up for I think it's called extra yard time I think once or twice he may have had to potty when I picked him up early morning. I've been using Canine Connection's doggie daycare for more than 2 years. My dog only gets to go on special occasions (1-3 times per month), but he absolutely loves it. The employees know my dog by name, and are always affectionate with him. I always call before coming in, they ask for my dog's name, and check availability based on the room (there are different rooms for dogs of different ages and temperaments). I can usually get in on short notice, but I know they get full around major holidays. read more

I really have to give it to Canine Connection for their service and dedication to its clients. Every person that met my Kiwi knew and remembered her name. They always treated her like their own pup. I loved the pricing here, as well. I always had to spend a nightly rate plus up to $25 extra for my dog to be in daycare all day. But, Canine Connection just puts your pup in daycare unless you request them not too. They give them a nap time on days they need a break or need to eat dinner while staying over night. This boarding facility also offers a store for food and toys, as well as grooming services. I had Kiwi's nails trimmed here often and never ran into any problems with special requests. Our toy poodle Hank stayed at Canine Connection for a day stay. He is generally very shy and scared of other dogs. The staff was patient with our questions and helpful and determining the best option for Hank - in the play yard or private suite. After the initial interview (done the same day and took only a few minutes), the staff felt that Hank was not anxious in the play yard and that he could be around other dogs. They said if Hank became anxious or seemed unhappy in the play yard, they would move him to a private suite. Hank was able to stay in the play yard all day! The staff said Hank would come to them to be pet while in the play yard and this helped him stay calm. When we picked Hank up, he seemed happy and not stressed at all, and this was Hank's first daycare experience. The staff gave us a report card for Hank. It listed mannerism they noticed and his overall behavior! We were surprised when they only charged us $18!!!!! We dropped him off at 7:30 am and did not have to pick him up until 7 pm. I would trust Canine Connection to talk care of Hank again. They take the well being of your let seriously. (Even my silly questions!!) read more

This is one of the easiest five stars I've ever given on Yelp. We spent a week and a half in NOLA recently and needed somewhere to take Her Royal Furriness for a few days of well-deserved daycare. Canine Connection was already well-reviewed on Yelp, and it's easy to see why. The staff are extremely friendly and clearly care about the dogs that are entrusted to their care. They were especially attentive to Her needs as a senior dog, and when they brought her out they told us all about her little canine shenanigans--which is comforting, because a person would actually have to spend time with our dog to learn about these little quirks of her personality. We didn't end up boarding Her overnight during this visit, but knowing that there is staff onsite at Canine Connection 24/7 would have put our mind at ease should the need have arisen. Great place for doggie daycare or boarding, the staff is awesome and they even recognized my new dog that was adopted from ARNO because a number of folks at Canine Connection also volunteer there. Big bonus points. In terms of boarding, they offer a number of different options from a crate to private indoor/outdoor "suites" and some even have webcams. During the day they also have 5 supervised playrooms where your dog can hang out and play with the other dogs as well as the staff who hang out and often pet the dogs. All the playrooms have webcams so you can check in on your dog if you want - and Canine Connection even has a "curbside drop-off service" Monday-Friday from 6-9am for regular guests. Top notch place, which is why 50-100 pet owners appear to trust Canine Connection with their pets every day. As far as I can tell, this is the best place in NOLA for your dog! read more

Visit 1 week stay. Thank You Everyone at Canine Connection. They sat with my dog on the first night when she was pacing the floor and anxious. When I looked in and saw her playing so hard with the other dogs while being supervised it was a relief. I asked them to give her a specific toy at the next check in and within a few minutes not only were they calling me but someone was sitting with her head in their lap. Can't ask for better. Visit 2. When told the night before that she was going to doggie day care she woke me up early the next AM ready to go. Sat by the door so I wouldn't forget her. Sophie couldn't swim in the gulf anymore and I asked them to let her swim in the pool. She was afraid of the pool steps so staff got into the pool to try to encourage her. No go. Visit 3 they scheduled a time for me to go into the pool with her. It was fun but she was torn between playing with her dogfriend or me. When I picked her up later she was asleep before we left the parking lot. Visit 4. She started howling when we got close to the CC then whined when I didn't get her inside fast enough. I check in on the cameras and she has not stopped grinning. She is fine staying overnight and runs in and out to the outdoor patio. Still grinning and tail wagging. read more

This was the second time I used their services. The first time, it seemed mostly successful, except for the time I happened to watch and saw my dog pee on her bed. I called, they explained it had been raining all day and they closed all the gates to the personal patios, promised to keep the gate open for her at my request, and they cleaned her kennel. Their explanation seemed reasonable, so I accepted it. Fast forward 2 months later and I made arrangements for an overnight. When dropping her off I remembered what happened previously and requested that her gate be left open, so she could go out to her patio and pee whenever. She's getting up there in age. They said no, but said they could open her door to her patio twice in the night. I asked if I could speak to the owner, hoping to explain and get an exception. They said sorry, they couldn't give her number out. And this seemed the end of it. I did request they not feed her the extra meal I brought, (one of the attendants had already spirited it away) because I didn't want to set her up for failure. She was just to have a little bit of water. When I picked her up this morning she was trembling. They put her bed in the car. Told me it was wet. And gave me back the empty food container. My girl wouldn't look at me. She wasn't her normal self. She was occupying a much smaller space than she usually does. And she wouldn't stop trembling. I have not seen her like this since the day I rescued her 10 year ago, when she was skin and bones, no hair, with open sores on her legs. I called and their kennel master came out to speak with me. I asked if it was cold in the kennel as a possible reason for her trembling and he said that it wasn't cold in there and that she wasn't trembling from cold. I was trying to find a non-ugly reason for her trembling. I didn't want to automatically think abuse. Perhaps it was medical. I told him, that this didn't happen before when I boarded her there. That if it had, I wouldn't have used them again. The kennel master promised to look at the footage, but said I wasn't allowed to see it. I pointed out the problematic nature of this, but accepted it and we went home. When I got home, I made an appointment with the vet. I wondered if my girl had a UTI. They did say she peed a little on her bed. And I was worried about how she was behaving. It took her about 1/2 hour at home to decompress. But she was okay, I thought. Two hours later I loaded her up in the car to go to the vet and she started trembling again! This is not normal for her. She is usually curious, wanting all the sights and smells and not fearful. Even when I've had to take her to the vet's before when she's been ill. She's never trembled. I cracked the window, trying to distract her with the smells as I do. As soon as we went in another direction (not towards the dog kennel) she started to calm down... The vet did a workup. Results are pending. They were sweet with her; she was relaxed. We discussed the trembling, and I asked if that meant anything. Dr. Z at MSAH said, not necessarily. He said he would only nix the kennel if it happened again and again. Ok. We go home. I then see that I had a call from Canine Connection. I returned the call and spoke with the kennel master again. He was rude, rude, rude. He said he looked at the footage and didn't see anything other than my dog sleeping on the floor, and his overnight person spending too much time looking after my dog. (I never thought they would tell me the truth, even if there had been mistreatment.) He was irate that I voiced reasonable questions. He then accused me of all kinds of horrible, untrue things. He used my concerns the previous day against me. Suggested I was trying to make something happen. Claimed I asked to speak to the owner twice. (I only remember asking the day before. But okay.) I suppose he was afraid of a lawsuit. My family is not litigious. He even tried twisting the things I spoke with him earlier in the day saying why I would suggest it was cold and then want the gate open at night. I explained my logic. He then said that he had 12 years in the industry and said that Canine Connection would not be doing business with me anymore. His voice trembled and cracked. I felt sorry for him. But, I am responsible for and love my four-legged family member and cannot let natural sympathy erase what I'm seeing. My girl hasn't behaved like this since the day I rescued her. Terrified. I don't know what happened. I only hope there is some not-horrible reason. I'm still waiting on results from the vets. Take this as you will. Needless to say, even if I were allowed, I would not use Canine Connection again. How could I in good conscience? They have great ratings. It's one of the reasons I picked them. But, the only thing I think of now when I think of them, is how they gave my girl back to me. Terrified. read more

Your dog is lovingly cared for and the cut and the grooming that is administered to your dog is superior. My jack Russell comes back looking fabulous. And as for their boarding service they cannot be beat. I have frequently boarded my dog,Mr. Belvedere, and he always is provided with great quarters to be housed in, a lot of loving attention, and plenty opportunities for exercise, playing with other dogs, and very Conscientious care. They deserve 5 stars because they genuinely care about the pets! I dropped off Max for a full groom at 8am and he was done by 10, but they gladly kept him for a few more hours until I was able to pick him up after work at 2. I can't remember the groomer's name (Shannon?), but she really knows how to cut a Bichon Frise's hair with a perfect round head. Max somehow developed a rash on his tail shortly after he came home and I called a few days later and spoke to Heather, who kindly accommodated Max with everything he needed to help make him feel better. They even offered to pay for any vet services he may have needed! Heather called a few days later to check up on him to make sure Max was feeling better. Honestly, this is what makes them so great. My heart belongs to a 27 pound (give or take a pound or two, more like give) French bulldog named Sebastian. We are codependency at its best or maybe worst, if you ask his dad. When we are in the same room we are skin to fur and if not I talk about him incessantly and I'm sure he's napping away dreaming of his best bud: mom. I love him so much and if I'm speaking his language correctly, he loves me even more. I make his world turn until he sees his special doggy daycare collar and leash. Then, best bud mom is just the driver. He knows when he sees this that he is off to "school". Canine connection is conveniently located and offers extended hours which is amazing. They open at 6 am and close at 8 pm on weekdays. And hours are 7 am - 7 pm on weekends. The dogs have to wear a quick release collar and if boarding must have all items named and food individually packed and labeled. When Sebastian sees his Canine Connection collar he is so eager to sit to wait to put it on. Then he drags me out of the house, then drags me towards the car, and then drags me into Canine's doors. When you arrive you will be greeted by the friendliest, most helpful staff. Even though it tugs at my heart to leave him there either for the day or long weekend, I know he will be taken care of. We've had multiple stays here in the last year and a half and each experience have been a positive one. The Canine Staff are so helpful and understanding when I've called in the to check on Sebastian. They will entertain your phone call as many times as you need. And, they have boarding units with cameras so you can keep an eye out and a camera in the play room so you can waste your day away at work or vacation watching your fur love ball. You do have buy the App to subscribe to it $5 for the year. All in all, Canine is Sebastian-approved and that's all the endorsement I need. read more

I picked my dog and cat up from a weekend away at Canine Connection yesterday, and they are happy and healthy. I must say, the staff was delightful to work with. They made this process so easy, and they were so helpful at every step of the way. Our pets are a little older and we have never boarded them, so we were worried they would be traumatized, however they both needed medication so leaving them under watchful eyes was important. It was really nice that they have a camera system so that you can check on your pets which really eased our concerns. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 for a few reasons. First, they were a little more expensive than many of the other options in New Orleans, however it is worth the extra cost to have your pets well cared for. Next, there was not a ton of warmth towards the animals from what I could see. My dog has never been to boarding or daycare and I'm sure she was much more nervous (and confused) than I was. Regardless, I stared at my phone off and on all day watching her. She seemed confused and basically followed around closely any person who entered the dog yard and tried desperately to get their attention. I think I saw someone pet her once that day. Now, to be fair, there were a ton of dogs who wanted attention, I didn't watch her all day, and it may be policy not to interact with the dogs too much, so I am not too concerned about this at all. They took great care of my girls, I just know my pup probably could have used a little encouragement during her first day of daycare. Lastly, I probably won't bring my cat back, not to any fault of theirs, it just seemed like a bit of tight quarters. They were kind enough to open up the cat crates up so my cat could move between three of them, which was so sweet, but even that looked a little tight and I can't imagine how hard that would have been for her if she were limited to one crate. They are called "canine" connection, not "feline" connection, so I understand that this was just a means to an end. Ultimately, I will most definitely bring my dog back. She came home clean, healthy, and tired. She got plenty of play time and was well cared for. I will not bring my cat back but in emergencies where she needs medication. Here we go again... We'll be going out of town soon and boarding our "kids" with their other family at Canine Connection, again. I'm a neurotic dog-mom. As such, there are a number of things I truly love about CC. My dogs (Riley, Jack and Roux) have attended daycare and boarded a number of times and always, ALWAYS, at the end of the day or stay, are healthy, clean and most importantly, happy. Each of my kids is different, and the staff at CC recognize this and respond accordingly. They look for and do their best to meet the needs of the dog. Jack is timid, but loves to play fetch with his tennis ball - they give him time and attention to meet this need. Riley is aloof but adores the company of other dogs - they know and put him in a very active social group. Roux doesn't mix, but is content to observe - and the staff are all sensitive to her anxiety. When we arrive - staff members seem genuinely happy to see our pups return - that is comforting. Of course I watch on webcam. I have called to ask questions about what I've seen (like 'where is the 3rd bed in the suite?' - 'got a little wet so we're trading it out for a dry one and washing the blanket') - and the fact that I can call 24-hours a day and talk to someone who is actually THERE, ON PREMISES - whoa! Priceless. They have even emailed me with a photo a a scratch to Riley's face that happened while playing with another dog - just giving me a heads up. To be able to go out of town and not worry about my dogs permits me to truly enjoy the time that I'm away. The service these guys provide is incredible and worth every penny. This was my second attempt to come here and self wash my dog. The punchcard for the washers does not have the phone number address or correct business name on it so it was really difficult to find my way back to this place but I did. The lady let me into the stall and I quickly noticed it was disgusting and filthy and full of light colored hair off of a different type of dog than mine I had to ask for a full refund as I was unable to get the facility clean and I was definitely an able to get my dog clean and left with a soapy wet dog the place was so dirty. Getting a refund was lengthy and I never even received an apology I will not be back to this facility again read more

I don't have experience boarding my dog here (cause she's a jerk, or else I totally would!) but have shopped in their store and this place is great and everyone is so nice! They have toys, harnesses, leashes, treats, etc, and it feels great to support local businesses for your pups needs instead of big box stores. (Very reasonable pricing too!) I also work in a clinic and sometimes they bring doggies to us that get sick while they're boarding (through no fault of their own, life happens!) and the employees are so caring, attentive, quick to respond, and really seem to love their boarders and their jobs. read more

I was immediately won over by the following: A.) Kennel options with varying prices/sizes. B.) Webcams in play rooms & kennels!! You might catch your dog playing :) C.) Super friendly staff that genuinely seem to love pets. D.) Staff members gave me their FULL, undivided attention!! They listened intently as I explained pet medications/dosages, special diets & much more. My crew was high maintenance!! I can't stress enough how much this meant to me & alleviated fears. It was critical that the right pet got the correct meds. E.) Play rooms by size/age/energy level of pets. F.) When you pick up pets their beds & any belongings are ready to go & clean! (I've had things disappear many times at other facilities.) Doggie daycare here is great!! If you have a high energy dog, this can save you both. Go check these folks out!! I take my girls here for their mani/pedis and grooming needs. Jeanine is our usual hair stylist extraordinaire and does an insane job with my yorkie poodle (who doesn't want to lose half their size with one hair cut?!) She always sends me a snapshot of my pooch to tell me she's ready for pick up - absolutely love that I can make appointments and ask questions via text. Great assortment of toys, treats, food and clothing in the boutique. I haven't used their daycare or boarding services but the staff have always treated my dogs and myself with courtesy and respect so I would definitely leave my dogs with them if necessary. My cat, Ellington Jabir Carmichael Capone, is very spoiled and is my only child and very best friend. I was really nervous about boarding him while the house was being tented for termites, but had nowhere else to take him. Canine Connection is a beautiful facility, full of people who understand animal parents' weirdness and won't judge you for calling to check on your furbaby after you've left him. The prices are great too and the webcams are a great extra. I was sad that the cat webcam hasn't been working lately, though. I'd take Ellington back here in a heartbeat. For a first time owner of a puppy; leaving him for more than 2 days was a nightmare. Canine Connection made this nightmare turn into a wonderful dream. I went in 10 minutes before they close up and ask for a tour before signing the paper. They were kind enough to do so with a smile on their face and answered all the question I needed to ask. The place smell clean and looked clean, that was all I needed to see. Sometime you walk into any petstore or daycare and all you smell is either bleach or wet dog smell, not here! The webcam is a wonderful addition to have. I always see someone in the room with the dogs no matter which camera I'm viewing. I do hope they get enough donation to update their cameras for a sharper view; beside that I have no complaints. I also love the fact that no matter what time you pick them up there's no additional fee. My puppy came home tired from his 2 day adventure and I'm sure he wouldn't mind coming back. Great staff + webcams for overprotective parents + clean safe environment = great place for your dog away from home My two dogs come here for doggie daycare and love it! They sleep the whole next day. They also offer boarding and webcams to watch over your pups. I love being able to check in on my pups while I am traveling. We really like canine connection. I'll just say that we vetted 3 or 4 places uptown for a doggy daycare and boarding location. Canine connection passed with flying colors. The workers are great with the animals. They have a totally respectable number of handlers throughout the day and night to take care of the pets. They have plenty of options on where the dogs can spend time. Our dog always leaves Canine Connection exhausted. He plays like a madman when he's there. The facilities are as clean and well kept. On a surprise visit by Shari V, she said the staff was more than happy to show her around without advance notice and all the areas looked good. Mixed blessing is the webcam for the playroom. Shari V spends too much time watching it, but if you are into that, then it's a positive. Overall, we trust Canine Connection with our dog and we are repeat customers. read more

We stayed in New Orleans and boarded our dog at a place closer to our hotel. They were not able to bathe her by the time we were going to pick her up. Fortunately, we found Canine Connection on Yelp and used their self service dog wash station. It made it so easy to give our dog a bath. They provide shampoo, towels, brushes, apron, blow dryer, etc. Our dog usually doesn't like baths, but she actually seemed to enjoy it here. Wish we had a place like this close to home. read more
