If you are on I-75 and need to get pet supplies then you will be happy that it is right off of the interstate. You can get in and out quickly allowing you to get back on the road. I absolutely LOVE Stacie at Petco Grooming. We moved to the area in the summer of 2022 and went through three groomers before finding Staci. We have a mini golden doodle who's about 17 pounds and we like the typical doodle cut and it's hard to accomplish for some reason without their head looking puffy or other areas looking strange. Stacie managed to make him look perfect and continues to do so as I've never looked back and will always go to her For Bruno's grooming. We get compliments everywhere we take him and multiple times. I've been asked who his groomer is. In fact, he's gone to Pet Paradise in Newberry multiple times and met other doodles who then asked me where he gets his grooming done. Even last night, we were out at a venue with Bruno and a woman took a picture and sent it to her daughter who also has a mini golden doodle and the daughter sent her mother over to ask me where we had him groomed. Stacie did a fantastic job buffing my dog's nails in the grooming salon and she was very kind and patient with him even though he was trying to get away from her. She called in a store manager named Alexis and Alexis helped to pet and calm him so he would stop trying to pull away. It meant a lot to me that they didn't just give up right away and took the time to calm him. I know they are very busy, but they obviously still care about the pets and their customers. read more

I take my 100 pound male Doberman, Odin and 51 pound Hound/Lab mix, Little Man to Brandon at this Petco. Brandon does a wonderful job and he loves Odin and Odin feels really good with Brandon when Brandon buffs his nails. Little Man hates to have his feet touched and will dance around on the table and usually needs a second groomer to hold/calm him. Every groomer there is friendly and very professional. I'm mainly reviewing the grooming department. 1. Price. The dog baths are half the price of rival petsmart, who charged me $90 to bath my 75 lb husky. Once I got a second husky, I knew I couldn't be popping for $180 every time they needed a bath. So I looked elsewhere and found petco would do this same exact grooming for $45 each! $90 total! Win. 2. Customer service. The groomers are super friendly! 3. Quality. They really do a better job than petsmart. They look so clean, fluffy, and they're so soft! This was not always the case when I got them back from petsmart 4. Perks! They came back wearing these awesome bows/scarves today for Christmas. Poor customer service. Figured I'd give them another (third) chance when I read their price matching policy, and they sent some coupons. Just as bad of an experience as before. Cashier made me feel bad for using coupons (even though the product was for fosters), and the manager was not up-to-date on the price match policy (mind you, I was going to save a mere $1.50 per box of food).. refused to match even after reading the source I provided on the official website.. said I needed to take a picture or something of "a very recent transaction at Petsmart". That makes no sense.. why would I buy something at Petsmart, already a lower price, and then come buy it at your store, begging for same price..?! Petsmart is the place to be. I wouldn't suggest trusting your pets in places like this, in general. You just never know what goes on behind closed doors. On top of that, Petco doesn't have cameras. If you do happen to take your pet here, make sure the groomer, Emily, does not take care of them. Unfortunately, she couldn't handle my 60 lb dog and dropped her while assisting her down from the table. This then led to my dog having a torn ACL and meniscus. My 5 year old baby had to have surgery and suffer through a 15 week recovery period. I understand mistakes happen, and not everyone can handle such heavy dogs. But that's why Emily should not have been assisting my dog at the time. Her and the grooming employees also let us know that it was a light limp and that she should be fine, but in fact, she wasn't. All in all, it's probably a better idea to groom your fur babies at home or in a place where you can see what's happening. read more

It may not always have the biggest selection or the lowest prices, but it feels like a higher-quality store, and I find myself more willing to come back here for pet supplies than the PetSmart. I'm not sure if the ambient nature sounds are there for the animals or the people shopping, but either way it's a classy touch- I feel like I'm at SeaWorld or something every time I go to buy stuff for my betta fish. There are certain items that I was able to find here but not at the PetSmart. Returning/exchanging items here is also a very painless experience; if you have your receipt you can get a full refund or exchange within 60 days, and even without the receipt you can still get some form of refund. read more

Janine is amazing. I was so frustrated because my card wasn't going through and pretty much blamed her and the machine. When I went outside and called the bank, it turns out that my bank froze my card due to unusual activity from a merchant I had recently gone through. Would never recommend this store to anyone! I worked for petco in the past (for 2 years) and never in my life have I seen worse customer service! Williams is rude and isn't afraid to throw his hands up on you. Along with kevan the manager making sure the fake smiles and help are well known to being fake. Never once have I had a problem buying my dog 200$ + every week to two weeks on supplies and extras. I love the rewards program but there is a better one with petsmart, oh did I mention petsmart doesn't have dirty looks at the door! Sad for petco knowing a major regular won't be coming to the store but good for petsmart and there amazing prices! I love this Petco, the help is always very nice and helpful. Usually the choices for dog snacks are always abundant. Prices are decent and the rewards program is good. If you cannot retrieve your rewards the clerk at the register will share a coupon with you. I have a Great Dane and need treats that won't get lost in his mouth and they have a nice selection of large snacks most of the time. There prices were better than Petsmart and the store is well maintained. I will make this store my priority pet store. read more

We brought our 2 year old Corgi for the first time and they were very good with him. The time they estimated that he would be done was right on. He was clean and shiny and they used all their shedding techniques, as he has a lot of fur! He was happy. They pointed out that he was sensitive with one of his ears, which I appreciated so I could treat it. Emily did a great job. read more

I used to get my dogs groomed at PetSmart and switched over to Petco. My dogs get a much calmer environment and their cost is less than what I was paying at PetSmart, I used to get coupons from PetSmart in my email but that stopped too. Also PetSmart does not carry the dog food I feed my dogs and while I have rewards card there I never seem to get anything for it, while at PetCo AND Pet Supermarket I get rewards back much more often. read more

As for products, this store is nice but a bit pricey. As for dog training, do not go! I took my first rescue dog there and the trainer was amazing! When I got my second rescue dog in Dec. 2013, the original dog trainer was not there. They have a different girl, who is forgetful. I signed up for classes at the end of December 2013. We were to have 4 private lessons for $200.00, however, I had a coupon and they were running a special so I got the classes for $159.00. The trainer promised my dogs issues would be fixed with 4 classes. The first two classes went great but then it went downhill from there. We showed up for the third class, and the trainer said she forgot to call and say she would have to reschedule. I showed up again a week later and she said she forgot to call again and we would have to move the date of our training to Friday instead of Monday because her Mondays were now booked. I originally said Friday would be fine, if needed for the person we were training with. She said she would call me and let me know what time Friday would work for the people we were working with. A week and a half later, I still did not hear anything from her. I went into PetCo to get my money back and all they could do was give me a store credit because I did have my receipt. Then, they only gave me back a quarter of what I paid because I had signed that we did three classes but the trainer was going to make up for the one and give me an extra lesson. And without them talking to the trainer, it couldn't be verified that that was true. It is now a month and a half from the date I signed up for the classes and now have to find a new trainer. I ordered an expensive wireless pet containment system from the PetCo website because it was much cheaper online and they wouldn't honor the online price in the local store. Well, it didn't work for us, so I printed the receipt and went out of my way to return it to the store. After waiting in line for the entire management team to locate their gift cards for the previous customer, I finally get to the front of the line. I'm told I have to print a "return receipt" from online in order to return something in the store. It's not just an easy process. You have to log in and fill in all this information, including the order number, which you would think would be on the emailed receipt, but it's not; it's on the packing slip, which I would assume most people throw away. I think this is a flawed system that needs to be updated to be more convenient by today's digital standards. Send everything one would need to make a return the first time in the emailed receipt when the purchase is made. Don't make your customer jump through hoops and then treat them like they're an idiot when they come into the store. It seems like a silly reason, but I won't be shopping at PetCo ever again. This was my first experience with the store and I was far from impressed. read more
