I had an amazing time learning and training my puppy with Laura. She's very patient and thorough when explaining the concepts and the reasoning for how and what you're doing. It's really training YOU as the dog owner just as much as you're training your pup. I really couldn't recommend Laura enough. It seemed like an expensive endeavor (I had never trained any of my dogs previously) but it's really a worthwhile course.

Ace has improved so much since I started training him with Laura. Every day I would walk him I would hate it because all he would do is rip my arm off. Since training 3 sessions of 1:1 and 4 sessions of dog manners I can happily say that my arm and back are no longer in pain. He is also well behaved around other dogs where as before he would try to jump and snap at them 24/7 during our walks. I can not thank you enough Laura thank you!!

Molly and Coco on a 'Down' and 'Stay'. Good dogs = more adventures together!

I want the best for my puppies, so I asked so many different people where and how they trained their dogs. I received a few suggestions, but decided to do my own search...and I'm glad I did. Leo (Owner) and his amazing team of trainers TRULY care about the pups they train. Leo came to my home and wanted to meet me and my pups before I had to decide on making any decisions. After sitting down with him for about half an hour, I knew I found what I was looking for: Someone who wants me to have healthy and happy dogs. I signed up for the in-home training at first which is Leo coming to the house and training me on how to train my puppies (Archie and Charlie just turned 6 months and started with Leo and his team when they were 4.5). Very quickly, I realized I could not handle training both these puppies the way they needed to be trained. I discussed with Leo and decided to do a Board & Train. I like the schedule because I get to take the puppies on the weekends to spend time with me. Don't get me wrong, you NEED to train your pups on the weekends, but it's worth it and FUN. Archie has become the Puppy King (no offense to other puppies or their owners )). Charlie has a lot more energy, but has improved immensely! Leo's trainers are so caring. I feel my dogs get love with their training when they're not with me, and I couldn't ask for more. I see their excitement whenever I visit about improvements and milestones that Archie and Charlie achieved. They gleam with as much pride as I do. I honestly don't know where my pups OR I would be without the help of this AMAZING Team! If I could give 10 stars out of 5 stars, I would!

A few minutes later Leo called us and asked questions about the situation. Some basic tips he gave us over the phone saved our sanity until he came to our house a few days later for a free consultation. The consultation made it clear how experienced and passionate Leo is about dog training, so we decided to sign with him that same day. After one session we felt much more confident in training our dog and saw the "light at the end of the tunnel". Over the past 5 months and four training sessions, we have seen day and night improvement in her behavior. If you feel lost and out of control with how to train your dog or want to continue their training, Kelev K9 should be your first call. Leo is always ready to help out with any questions or concerns we have by text or phone call. Pricing is also extremely fair and was a worthwhile investment for us because we have our sanity back and have bonded so deeply with our dog through training. Thank you so much Leo, Breanna, and the whole team at Kelev K-9!

Our main goals were to help Parker become more confident and to tighten up his existing training. He had done a few training sessions before, but nothing quite clicked like it did with Nicole. We did private at-home sessions, which made a huge difference in both his learning and our comfort. Nicole uses a balanced, positive reinforcement-based approach. She always made sure to understand exactly what I wanted out of each session and made me feel confident and equipped to continue the training at home. I never felt lost or overwhelmed, her guidance is patient, clear, and empowering. Parker's recall has improved tremendously, and his heel and place stays have gotten so much sharper. The most impressive part? His recall is now nearly perfect, something I honestly didn't expect to see happen so quickly. If you're looking for a trainer who truly knows her stuff, listens to your goals, and supports both you and your pup every step of the way, I can't recommend Nicole enough. She sets you up for long term success, and it shows.

Nicole listened thoughtfully from our first phone conversation to ensure she understood my dog's and human's needs. We started with the socialization package and each lesson has been so helpful. Nicole is always patient to explain all of the concepts during our training sessions. She observes carefully and her timing to reward/correct behavior is so critical. She cares deeply and wants to set me and my dog up for success to continue the skills on our own. Now I enjoy going on walks with my dog and know how to keep her engaged with me. We just completed another set of lessons where we trained at a park and busy outdoor shopping center. With each lesson, my dog took less and less time to feel comfortable and stay engaged with me, which is a testament to Nicole's help. I look forward to doing more lessons with Nicole in the future! Lastly, it's the little things, but they really add up and make Nicole so great. These include text reminders for lessons, welcome gift, and graduation celebration.

When I adopted my current dog, Cinqué, I had never had a puppy as young as he was, and I was not necessarily prepared for his energy level or for some of his behavior. I researched and visited many places before I decided on CANIS. From my initial meeting, I felt comfortable, and I felt very well informed about what the short-term and long-term goals were for me and my guy. I decided on the one year program and admit I was initially taken aback at the cost, it's certainly not cheap, but after just the first round of board and train, it's been so worth the investment. I went from a puppy who, although he has always been friendly and playful, and sweet, was jokingly described as constantly being in raptor mode to a dog that I can already take out to dog-friendly public spaces. We recently went to the Lazy Dog Café, and it was actually a really nice afternoon. We received compliments from other dog owners about how well behaved he was, even though he was only a puppy! We just finished Nature Dog I, which he loved, and we both learned so much. I'm really excited to continue in all the other classes that we can participate in as part of the one year program. Having a dog that I can take into public spaces with me, travel with, and have off leash in the outdoors with absolute confidence that he's going to behave exactly as I want him to is something I never even thought was possible. While we are waiting for his second round of board and train, he goes to Day Club there. He actually cries from excitement when we pull up. When he sees his friends from class, he's so excited. Not one person on the staff there isn't wonderful. Jen was his trainer and she was fantastic! She was so great about working with me with him and keeping me informed of all the things she was doing with him so that I was able to continue with his training at home. Hunter who leads some of the group classes and the front office people, Aaron and Jeremy are just top shelf! Brent is a very hands-on owner. You will see him almost every day that you are there and he teaches some of the group classes as well. If I haven't raved enough, it should be really clear that I'm just so happy then I made the decision to work with them. I'm really looking forward to continuing Cinqué's journey there.

I wasn't expecting such fast results, but my walk with them the next morning was unbelievable. For context, I have a 3 y/o M Doberman/Husky (neutered) with attention seeking & hyperactive issues. Dolittle' Ranch is a blessing!…read more I've searched far and wide for a reliable pet hotel where I can leave my dog (Luna) knowing that she'll be well taken care of. As a preface, I travel to Europe frequently for an average of 2-3 weeks, so I rely on pet hotels to take care of her when I'm gone. Nowadays, It's extremely hard to find reputable dog boarding that's not only trustworthy, but also affordable! I've done extensive, in-person research and found that even upscale dog hotels (especially in LA and Orange County) are grossly overpriced and quite literally, SCAMS. They don't deliver the same quality Dolittle's Ranch offers at a fraction of the cost. First of all, the owner, Jim, is one of the kindest individuals I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the moment I talked with him over the phone, his empathy radiated through and won over my trust. He was so understanding and took time to answer my hundreds of questions about how he runs his hotel. After a poor experience with Petsmart in Monrovia, I was anxious to board Luna this year, and spent weeks visiting pet hotels to assess their quality. I was very selective, to say the least. Luna is like family, so I want to make sure I leave her in the right hands. Moreover, she's not the easiest dog to handle. She's a working line German Shepherd, so by nature, she's aloof and protective when meeting strangers. Jim handled her perfectly and Luna warmed up to him very quickly. That's definitely a sign that Jim has a way with dogs! Jim invited Luna and I to come over for a visit before I boarded her. Right away, I was sold - Jim runs his hotel like a regular home, which gives it a cozy and friendly vibe. His facility is immaculately clean, well-lit, air-conditioned, and spacious. Each dog has a nice room where they can rest in comfort after playing outside. When I walked through the kennels, all the dogs were happy and CALM. They weren't barking their muzzles off or pawing at the doors, desperate to get out. Also, what impressed me most was the smell. Sounds like an odd observation, but trust me, Dolittle's does NOT reek of dog urine. Undoubtedly, Jim really puts in effort to keep the hotel clean! For exercise, Jim takes each dog out separately in his large yard, giving them ample opportunity to release energy and explore without being harassed by other dogs. Luna is easily overwhelmed when she's surrounded by too many K9s, so it was amazing that she had the space to play alone! Moreover, the price for boarding was unbelievable. For this level of care, Dolittle's Ranch has got to be one of the best deals I've made this year - $40/day for boarding! Petsmart is twice as much and offers shameful quality. Moreover, Jim is open 24/7. It was such a relief to text him and tell him when I'd come for Luna. I was supposed to pick her up a day early, but my flight was delayed, so Jim was very accommodating and said that she could be picked up late at night or even the next day. For the first time, I didn't have to rush out of the airport to pick up my dog! Regretfully, I used to leave Luna at Petsmart. That was BEFORE I realized just how poorly they run their facilities! I was not happy with their standards ... the kennels did not smell clean and the dogs were kept inside all day. They were let out to play together, once a day, for about 30 minutes, in a dreary little room with poor ventilation and no windows. Contrast this with Jim, who takes out each dog separately, every 3 hours, to enjoy the outdoors. Last time I left Luna at Petsmart, she came back home anxious and sick! My poor dog got kennel cough, which left her with diarrhea, vomiting and green discharge in her eyes. Luckily, after spending 3 weeks with Jim, Luna came back healthy, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Jim was careful to feed her the food I use at home ... FREE of charge! He was also conscientious about updating me with her condition, and would even send pictures of Luna playing outside in the sun and fresh grass. Overall, I'm very grateful for Jim's service, not only as a great dog handler, but also as a U.S. veteran. Jim's honesty is hard to come by these days, especially in Los Angeles, where it seems like everyone is trying to rip you off every chance they get. We need to support small businesses like Dolittle's Ranch, which is why I will definitely board Luna with Jim in the future! Please message me if you have any questions. I'm happy to support Jim and his business!

Jim was amazing in reassuring me, where he let us meet him and visit the boarding area beforehand. It was immediately clear that Jim is a genuine dog lover, and he took initiative to ask a lot of questions about my pup, and my pup also was quick to be comfortable in his presence! Jim runs his facility differently to most dog daycares in LA, in that he separates the dogs throughout their stay, meaning that there is absolutely no opportunity for accidents or fights to happen. Having heard and seen first hand the consequences of dogs playing rough or biting or attacking at daycare centers, this was a big relief and I was very comforted during my trip away that my dog would stay safe. My dog was a bit underweight from the anxiety of the move to LA and needed to put on some weight. Jim was very conscious of that and made sure that she ate well during the stay. From the pictures he sent during the two weeks, and when I came to pick her up, I saw that she has indeed gained weight which is not something that is easy to do for my dog! I could go on and on about the little things that Jim does to ensure that the dogs who stay with him are taken care of as if they are at home. I am so grateful to have found such a trustworthy place and person to board my pup with. This is all even disregarding the fact that Jim's pricing is extremely reasonable. It is absolutely no brainer that this is the best place to board your dog in LA!
