More importantly, they're honest. Dr. Tausz quickly earned my trust and managed to keep it over the course of two years and many visits. He didn't try to sell me on unnecessary services, was very straightforward about what I should expect, and had reasonable fees. Because it is a relatively small clinic, we were referred to nearby facilities that had the necessary equipment on the rare occasions when we needed specialized services and this arrangement worked well. After my dog finally succumbed to illness, Dr. Tausz called to check up on me and I'll always be grateful for his kind words. My last visit to Fountain House was a few years ago because I had to move out of state. I'm only going to the trouble of writing this now because I'm still struggling to find someone who measures up.

Allen is able to assess things in my dogs without doing unnecessary diagnostic tests, but when he says my animals need a procedure, they always really do. Allen is thorough and takes the times to make sure you understand everything and feel comfortable with the decision making process. My dogs absolutely love him! And you can tell how much he, Joanne, and Tiffney genuinely care about every animal they serve. I love this office, and really hope Tiffney takes it over if Allen ever retires. Fountain House is a reliable, trustworthy place who will love your animals as though they were their own.

I was looking for a new dog sitter for our two daschunds. Our previous sitter would have up to 20…read moredogs at a time and was unable to give our dogs much attention or interaction at all. When we found out that our blind one spent the whole time there hiding we knew it was time to find someone else. We boarded our two dachshunds at the Barksville Inn and were very happy with the loving care they received. My husband and I decided to give the Inn a trial run before our upcoming longer vacation. We were nervous about leaving them with someone new, especially Lucy, the blind one. Turns out we were the only nervous ones. Buddy and Lucy did just fine! Kevin and David are caring people who really love dogs. They had a huge fenced in yard, which was a plus. Unfortunately, it rained most of their stay there. Hopefully it will stop raining next week! We will be taking them back then for a longer stay. I feel confident that they will be well cared for. I recommend the Barksville Inn 100%!

Although we have used this business in the past with satisfactory results, our dog recently…read moresuffered an injury while at Barksville Inn. We were not notified, nor was a vet consulted at the time of injury. By the time we fetched our pup 2-3 days later (Kevin could not say when it had happened) and discovered the half-dollar-sized wound, it was too late for our vet to apply stitches. We provided oral and topical antibiotics, performed ongoing, twice-daily soaking treatments, and revisited the vet, all of which led to eventual healing. Kevin did not call to check on the dog, did not offer reimbursement for vet or kennel fees, did not seem to feel any remorse for having inflicted damage to our dog (apparently due to "backing up the wheelchair"). Very worrisome and disappointing.

We just got our second golden retriever puppy from Famn Damily Farm. We got our first a year and a…read morehalf ago. Both dogs are beautiful, incredibly healthy, and have been amazing additions to our family. And I really can't say enough good things about Famn Damily. I've been there twice now. With my family. In both cases we drove 240 miles to get there, just because we realized what a special place it is, and because we knew we didn't want to get our puppies from any place else. You set foot on the farm, and you see dogs that are truly living their best lives. They have so much space to run and play, they are so well cared for, and so loved, and so clearly happy!! And healthy. And the facilities that have been constructed for the dogs, that clearly took a great deal of time, money and effort to build, are very impressive. Melodie Hammond runs the farm. And she's amazing. I know that my future dogs will be golden retrievers, simply because I know I only want to get puppies from Melodie, from Famn Damily, and Golden retrievers are what she breeds. The last thing I said to Melodie when I left the farm yesterday was, "see you in another two years"
