When I had to work long hours it alleviated my stress knowing my dog Zelda was in good hands, being visited by people who would not just let her out, but give her genuine physical affection, and lots of belly rubs! My schedule would change frequently, and they were very understanding with my last minute requests - I was concerned at times that I was burdening them but they never acted that way at all. I would receive pictures and updates on every walk with how she did. I've saved some of these photos as my favorites. They got to know her, and her quirks, and I appreciate that they noticed these things. We have 2 cats. We adopted them during the pandemic and this was the first time we went on a family trip since then. First thing that came to mind was to check them into a pet hotel, but it just felt wrong... Cats don't like changes, they like their familiar hiding spots and their routines, and they really don't need a whole lot of attention. I felt like a pet hotel would be a little stressful for our cats... I got them an automatic food dispenser before the trip, so all I really needed was someone reliable to check on them once a day, empty their litter box and refresh their water. I considered asking our neighbors or a friend to help out with that, but I also didn't want to give them a chore during Thanksgiving week... I found Pet Sitter Carmel Valley here on Yelp and thought they would be perfect for my needs. And indeed they were perfect! Edie and Jen are super friendly and very professional. They stopped by before our trip to meet me and see the cats, they asked all the questions, took the house key and we were all set and ready to go! Jen would text me everyday after her visits to let me know how the cats were doing and she always sent me a few pictures - what was really nice to see when we were missing our fur balls! She even managed to bond with one of our cats I thought would never come out of under the couch when we were away!!! :) I'm so glad I found these ladies! If I could give 6 stars I would. I never write these reviews, but Cheryl and especially Edie were a life saver for me and my new Lab Pup! Edie came every day to walk our Lando (who was a stubborn 6 month old puppy), and boy did he lover her! He would lay by the door in the afternoon after she left waiting for her to come back. Edie sends updates of her walk and often sends pictures. Lando is always well exercised after a walk with Edie and it has been such a relief to trust someone to come into my home and take care of my boy. They came over for a free consultation to meet my cat and took a lot of time asking great questions and specific details to really get to understand what I'm seeking and more importantly what my kitty likes and needs. Every day Edie showed up on time and really noticed the details and offered me daily updates with many photos, what she took care of, how she interacted with my kitty and any concerns she noticed. I was VERY impressed with the prompt and thorough daily and on time updates, level of care she had and the fact that she genuinely loved my kitty as it was her own. The best part of their services is that they send a detailed log after each visit that you can access through a text link. First off, I would like to say that I am VERY weary about who comes into my home and who takes care of my babies. That being said, I was extremely stressed out when I found myself in a situation where I had nobody in town to watch my two kitties, my bunny and fish. She was willing to book a consultation with me that week, and even had the availability to watch my babies the following week. She has obviously been pet sitting for a while, and she knew every question to ask - including personalized play time ideas for the kitties :) While we were away, she sent us daily updates and videos!! Being a pet mommy with separation-anxiety, this was HUGE for me!!
