Second, they were at my rescue when I found out kind of last minute that my dog needed a Leptospirosis Vaccine as required by a boarding outfit in Hot Springs, Arkansas for our vacation trip. My vet (Dal Paso Animal Clinic) also here in Hobbs, New Mexico, doesn't include the Lepto or offer it separately. Hobbs Animal Clinic would not pick up the phone when I called. And the only other place I called before Great Plains was Double J. Their price was I think $80 for the vaccine and $27 for a required examination - or maybe I have it backwards, but I think I have it right. PLUS, Double J didn't have an appointment available for my dog for another week - that would have been WHILE we were in Arkansas. Great Plains answered right away. They did need me to make an appointment, but it was the same day - just later that afternoon plus they did not charge for an exam. My dog's shot was $42 and so worth it because she was a great traveler. All of the ladies who work here are so nice and understanding. I finally saw Dr. Kuitu for a split second. He has seemingly only aged a little since I last saw him 20 years ago.

It's primarily a feed store for livestock and pets. There wasn't anyone around on 3/4/2024 when I walked in the feed sack area which is fairly substantial. No pricing on anything that I noticed. But they had baby chicks in! Also, they had green onions for planting that looked pretty good. I highly suggest you checkout the community board that's hung outside of the "main entrance." They have phone numbers and other info posted for things like border collie puppies, bales of hay, and horse shoe services for sale. Their hours are Monday-Friday 8:00-5:30PM with a lunch break from 12-1. Saturday 8:00AM-noon. Closed on Sunday. Check them out just south of Hobbs on the Eunice Highway.

I always had a stronger nexus with non-human beings after visiting here even though I never wanted hardly any of them as pets. I brought my young daughters with me on August 23, 2023. This place hasn't really changed one bit. Their fish are mostly healthy looking at affordable prices. They sell freshwater and saltwater fish and other creatures. They still have a room dedicated to birds - namely parakeets, cockatiels, and finches. Another separate room for reptiles, arthropods & arachnid species also still exists. At the front entrance their "furball" critters take precedence... rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, and hedgehogs. I loved their baby tortoises - so darn cute! They seem to sell out quickly of axolotls and ferrets and a few other more rare animals. All of the supplies you would need are sold here too. I know several folks who come here for mice for their snakes and crickets for their frogs and bearded dragons. The owners are super friendly & ready to assist you. I'm hoping my daughters will continue to do well in school and such so they may earn the privilege of taking one of these critters home one day... The only thing I would change about this place is the outside is quite demure and boring. It doesn't match what's on the inside at all or the personalities of the owners. She had ONLY vomited once while there in your care and I was told "she died of a seizure this morning" I went to your hospital less than 45 min later and she was in vigor mortis! She had died several hrs prior to your staff calling me. You've blocked me from posting on your page on Facebook for calling you out. No courtesy call to explain that she had a seizure from more than likely hypoglycemia which is PREVENTABLE especially in YOUR CARE! When my husband and I went to see her she was solid, cold, her eyes were matted from crying and her bedding was wet!!!!!!! How disgusting! She deserved some dignity! She was my therapy dog! I loved her like my own child! How can your staff be so cold! I am requesting her medical records. The audacity to have me pay 1100.00 dollars and then you still request 43.00 plus dollars?? You killed my baby! Can you tell me with all honestly I will get HER ashes? I wasn't allowed to bring her home to bury her at my sisters ranch. We were told she was contagious.
