I have a rescue dog, and after few months of having him it was time for grooming. I did check on yelp for options for grooming. My dog is a Golden retriever, that has good amount of hair, and also sheds constantly now being summer time. I asked my rescue group fosters for recommendation and in unison everyone referred me to Heidi at Pet Strands. My first visit was on a Memorial Day. She happened to work that Monday because she was trying to make up for another Monday she would be off. being a entrepreneur you work when you want to work. It seems like a luxury but most people like Heidi end up working more hours than an employee would do, because this is her business and her baby! Even setting up an appointment I can tell her dedication to her business and ethics. My first appointment, I got to know rescue dogs get offered a 20% discount if I am not mistaken. I also learnt from others that the people in our rescue group that foster dogs, that woudl eventually be up for adoption - heidi offers them a free grooming session. that is a lot of free $$. and the iCare dog rescue I foster and volunteer for, we get tons of dogs on a regular basis. I did take advantage of the discount she offered for my dog. She was meticulous with her work. She asked all the questions and offered me choices that made sense to the type of dog I have, and his needs. She worked with me on the plan that is best for my dog. I opted to go for bath, brush, toe nails and to express glands. I htink I had to pay extra for brushing. The 2nd trip I told her about shedding, and after the appointment she said he wasnt shedding as much as she thought he would, and didnt end up charging the extra shed treatment charge. I been to her twice now, and both times, I felt like both my dog and I were in realiable good hands. She has a lot of experience with pets, and she treats each animal as her own. I honestly felt so comfortable leaving my dog with Heidi. Every time I go to pick him up after an appointment with Heidi, he looks and smells like million bucks! I've tried multiple groomers and Broccoli will start to smell only after 1 or 2 days or your fur starts falling off because people don't dry/brush correctly. With Pet Strands Grooming, Broccoli only needs to be bathed once every 2 weeks and she still doesn't smell. She asked questions my past groomer never did & informed me of things about my pup that my last didn't. Not only is Heidi an excellent groomer she has a heart of gold! I foster for a rescue and she makes my foster dogs look brand new! They come out smelling so good with wonderful haircuts. This was a great place to get my cat, Elvis, groomed. He had some fleas which I treated but there were apparently some live fleas still on him. They took care of him and he was returned to me smelling clean and feeling better. Cost was a bit high ar 35 dollars plus tip for a 4.5 lb. Kitten but they did take good care of my lil boy! It took a few hours to do as cats are scared of blowers and need to dry out thoroughly. I do recommend this place. read more

I have 2 Rescue pups. An almost 2 year old and 7 and a half year old. We haven't had either one longer than a year, and after only having baths at home, it was time for a professional groom and nail trim. I don't think either of my dogs has ever had a professional groom, so I was a little hesitant how my shepherd/mastiff and pittie would do. Heidi is the only groomer my dog, Nori, has known in his 10 years. She is always professional and I trust her implicitly with him. Heidi is always gentle with our nervous dog and returns him to us handsomely groomed and smelling good!
