What is going on in that store that the employees are not cleaning after the small animals that are in front of the store? As soon as you walk in there is a bad smell from the ferret and rabbits. Where is the owner or the manager?? I asked one of the female employees why the store smells and her answer was probably the ferrets but did nothing. My name was Tex. I was born on April 2, 2022. My mom did not have a cat in 18 years! My dad didn't have one for many years as well. They knew they would have another cat one day, but they wanted to wait until the timing was perfect. My parents lost their grown son tragically three years ago. My mom wanted to give my dad the most special surprise for Father's Day. Mom purchased me from Petsupermarket at the corner of 50 & 27 in Clermont. She was so overjoyed. Dad was at work, and Mom went to the store and picked me up. She found all the supplies she needed and set them up before my dad got home. When Dad got home from work, he was the happiest he had been in a long time. He couldn't believe I would be a permanent part of the family. At first he thought we were pet sitting, as we had done before. My sister and brother were so happy and excited! Mom was concerned. She brought me home one hour before dad arrived home. I started to cough badly. Mom and dad brought me back to Petsupermarket. Two employees stated I probably had a hairball. They said it could be unpleasant to watch; however, they dismissed mom and dad's concern. Mom later found out they could have picked up the phone and had a vet arrive to examine me within an hour. The other kittens in the store with me could have been checked, too. Mom and dad returned home and scheduled the quickest appointment with the local vet. The vet stated I was very sick. I had pneumonia and bronchitis. I was placed on amoxicillin. Mom called Petsupermarket to let them know. Petsupermarket stated in the paperwork I weighed 2.18 pounds on June 2nd. I was purchased on June 8th. I was nowhere near this weight. I lost a lot from being so sick. My family was extremely worried. They brought me to the emergency vet in the middle of the night because I was coughing so hard. I weighed 1.70 pounds. Mom and dad were feeding me milk for kittens with an eye dropper. I was placed in oxygen. After 4 hours, I returned home. I was placed on Doxycycline. Within one hour, I could barely move and I couldn't catch my breath. Mom and dad took me back to the vet. I was placed in oxygen again. I couldn't catch my breath in the oxygen tank. The next morning, mom and dad were told I was suffering too much. I was kissed goodbye in the tank. My family cried so hard for me. My mom, dad, sister and brother were heartbroken. Mom notified Petsupermarket. The manager stated my parents could return my belongings and get the money for them. My family could not even bare to look at my belongings. Mom and dad accrued close to $2,000 in expenses. Most of this expense was vet bills. Mom contacted the rescue I came from to inform them. This rescue works so hard to nurture us and find us good loving homes. They work to save lives. They were heartbroken for me and my family. They loved me. How could the Petsupermarket employee tell my mom she noticed me coughing earlier that day and didn't do anything about it? Tanya at Hoffmeyer Rescue brought my family out of a deep depression. She contacted Petsupermarket. She loved me and my family, even though she didn't know my family. She extended condolences and provided my family emotional support. My parents reached out to Petsupermarket corporate many times. Petsupermarket didn't care at all about me or my family. They didn't even send my family coupons for food or litter so my mom, dad, brother and sister could get another kitten or cat. I thank you for listening to my story. I feel my life had a purpose. The purpose is to remember the beautiful people at rescues who work so hard each day and expect nothing monetary in return. Petsupermarket caused me so much suffering, and in the end, I lost my life. I ask you to consider not supporting Petsupermarket because they don't really care about animals. It all came down to money. They are cold hearted. My parents were sold a sick pet and Petsupermarket washed their hands of it. I was not just a pet on the store shelves like a box of litter. I was alive and breathing. I was very loving and intelligent. I was a family member, not simply a pet. Chewy is a company that truly cares for animals.They send flowers to families that lose their pets. They had a cat named Peaches looking for a home. She had difficulty being adopted because she had a large yellow stripe of paint on her back. My mom and dad saw her in Petco being loved. She was brought over to the birds because she enjoyed seeing them. My parents saw her currently in a picture and the yellow paint was gone. From what it was this store has came a long way. This store truly does offer a lot of supplies for all animals. They even have isopods incase you are creating a bio active terrarium. To be honest I don't really come and chat with any of the staff besides at checkout but the store if perfect for going in and grabbing the supplies you need, whether it be food, grooming supplies, toys or tanks, they have it all. read more

Living in Clermont, FL, I've shopped this Pet Supermarket store in the past. I was pleased with my shopping experience in this store. However, Memorial Day weekend, I visited this store to shop for dog treats, dog toys for my sister's dogs. When I walked into the store I was immediately greeted by an employee. The Problem: The Smell - Too Strong Odor of bags of Pet Food. The "wack to my nose & lungs" from the Extreme stench of Pet Food in bags was so bad I felt my allergic asthma triggered. I gave my thanks to the employee & had to immediately exited the store. Used my asthma inhaler & got in my car & drove away. Never will I enter that store again. I'm reluctant to enter any of the other Pet Supermarket store. **I've never had that problem of too strong odor of pet food in bags from Petsmart or Petco. read more

Never have enough crickets for reptiles. They tell you they get shipment in the next day and when you go the next day, they won't let you buy the crickets because they are for "their reptiles". Definitely not a "one stop shop" for people with even 3 different species of animals because they're always out of something for at-least one of your pets. Topped the cake when a girl with the "store manager" name tag was at the register talking not so nicely about a customer in front of people in one of my last visits. Definitely disappointed every visit. Definitely won't be back. And most definitely won't recommend. read more

I came in to the store earlier today and an employee named Dominique said that the Guinea and so did the other associate there at the time, (not Ashton the manager that was on duty, but we will get there), so we continued to go home and get everything ready for the Guinea pig because we already have Guinea pigs already and everything it needed. Drove all the way back to the store, everyone knows how gas is right now, all of a sudden Dominique informs us that the Guinea pigs aren't available because they are "quarantining" which was never mentioned before after asking two employees about them. Then we go to the manager that was there at the time, Ashton, and she says she asked the higher ups and we aren't allowed to get any type of "special privileges". We were never asking for special privileges we were just asking for what we were told earlier was perfectly fine. During the conversation with Ashton the assistant manager Kelsey just sat there pretending to hear nothing in short shorts, but uniform on, completely unprofessional from everyone in the store and just super unwelcoming when you walk in. It seems like no one wants to actually help the customers, when you walk in they all disperse and disappear, or sit behind the counters talking and playing on their cell phones. read more

I want to give more stars as the employees there are never rude, but I always leave with a bad taste in my mouth due to the lack of care they show for some of the reptiles and their enclosures. I've been going to this location for a few years now and I've noticed recently that all of their bearded dragon juveniles tend to develop tail rot due to their enclosure always having poop in the case, and only contains a giant wooden stick and a water bowl. This is piss poor care for any reptile, especially a baby bearded dragon. If this is the type of care they get while under professional watch I can't imagine what they're telling those who want to own exotic animals. What's worse is they are either selling these pets with tail rot or just tossing them when they get too sick because of the lack of care. I'm just tired of seeing reptiles being given less than par care at retail pet shops and it's quite frankly disgusting. It needs to be changed. read more

I have been shopping at this location for at least 10 years or longer. I have watched the place go down in customer service rather than improve. Half the time I go there the employees are idle, gossipy, unhelpful and some of them are rude. The manager makes excuses for their rudeness and apologizes for them while they stand in a row and watch the drama. The situation can be frustrating except for the fact that they have a pretty high turnover when it comes to staff. Ironically, I seldom see the same faces twice! Anyway, as soon as I receive my rewards voucher, I will be heading over to PetSmart hopefully for a better shopping experience! read more

Well, first starters, I Love their supply of products, like pet clothes, and leashes. They definitely have the lower prices of the pet stores I frequent- and definitely the best sales and promos. I also really like the fresh treat section for special goodies for my pup. Now with that being said, I'm still not a fan of this store because the staff is always so miserable. Everything you ask from them seems to be such an inconvenience. Especially when buying a new pet ( my family does that often ). Almost feels like they would rather you not buy it at all. And the adoption process is always tedious. Something always goes wrong or isn't ready, etc. It's also strange to me the difference in prices on the pets. The fluctuation is extreme. Not just 10-15$ sometimes as much as 100-150$ difference for the same pet.. very strange.. I'll still visit this store though because it's convenient and I enjoy the promotions. read more

Our experience with Pet Supermarket have been positive. The store is clean. They have just recently reorganized the isles. The staff are very friendly and love it when you bring your pups in to get loved on. I only wish that they had more products for larger dogs. They have a cute area for small dogs with designer hoodies and collars, but not for lager fur babies. read more

I am just a regular guy. I have a wife , two children and a desire to own a Salt Water Aquarium. I have been in this store before to buy a cat toy (children wanted to get them something) I saw that this Pet Supermarket carries Marineland Tanks. After months of studying Salt Aquatics I had decide on the Marineland 93G Cube and went over to this Store Sunday April29th at 6:ooPM. I am guessing this is the Zombie shift to work here. I walked up to two working Males and waited as they talked and talked and talked...I actually had to interrupt them (what an inconvenience I was) I asked if I could order a Marineland tank today. One said No right away ...the other was blinking and breathing. I am not accustomed to offering to buy from a retailer a product they carry and be told "No" So...I asked the question again and was a little more precise in asking about the no as well. They both said No at the same time. I repeated one more time "You are telling me you represent Marineland Tanks and you can not special order a tank" (they only sell what they carry). I contacted Marineland Corporate Office this morning...they do special orders all the time. Then I called Pet Supermarket and found out something interesting. The fruit does not fall far from the tree with this Company. The Costumer care person I spoke with had no interest in my bad experience. I know so...or she would have asked the date , the names and so on. The person also told me that the store can order a special order if they want too. ummm....I said "I want them too" the person told me it was up to them. No exceeding expectations here of saying "I am sorry...I can connect you with someone to make that order..." You see , in the end I still want a tank , have the money but I have no tank. The end result one less customer to their crumbling Foundation. The place HUGE and was empty...just me...I wonder why? read more

Yesterday 3/12/12 around 5:30pm I went to this store to buy a fish. I walked by the reptile enclosures and there was a chameleon for sale. He was almost dead. The set up for this chameleon was not correct at all. Chameleons like to blend in and climb up high into plants. He had a stick to climb on. They do not drink out of bowls, they lick droplets of water off of plants (or sides of aquariums). All he had was a bowl of water. He had a Few crickets that were way too large for his size to eat. Crickets contain too much phosphorus that will cause metabolic bone disease in chameleons. His eyes were sunken in from being severely dehydrated and he barely moved. I told the man who was working there and he said "this is what happens when I am off for three days. Nobody else here gives a sh$@". I don't know what time he clocked in but if I worked there knowing that other employees neglect the animals, I would begin my shift by watering and feeding everyone. And why isn't the manager taking care of the animals? He/she should do rounds of the store all day to ensure that every one is being properly taken care of. Also, if someone were to purchase the animal they would go by example and set up their cage the way they see it in the store. The manager should check on all the departments throughout the day to ensure that all animals are safe and cared for. I do not think that the manager at this store checks on the animals at all. I've been going to this store for a year & found the employees friendly, helpful, & informative. However, that is not so anymore. The employees are stoic ever since I have encountered a manager named Anne. This woman is incredibly unkind, especially to my daughter. She wouldn't even let her pet a ferret because of her size. She is a tall 3 year old. I informed Anne that my child has been around animals her while life but she said it was corporate policy to prohibit a 3 yr old from petting ferrets or bunnies. This is ridiculous! She even asked me for the names of employees who have gladly allowed my daughter to play with the small furry animals in the past. No way! A bunny is much less dangerous than even a kitten. If this is corporate policy it is insane. Even Disney has a petting zoo where the encourage children of all ages to pet large barnyard animals if they wash their hands afterwards. Does Pet Supermarket think they are "safer" than Disney? Does Anne think one of the bunnies is going to attack like the Monty Python one? Mostly, I am concerned for the staff as one of them told me she is very mean to all of them. For this employee & any other she is cruel to, I am writing this review. I will take my business elsewhere until this woman is gone read more
