If I Could Give 100 Stars, I Would - Pet Supermarket in Daphne, AL My name is Selena, and I just had one of the best retail experiences I've had in a very long time at Pet Supermarket in Daphne, Alabama. I was in town checking on my grandmother in Mobile and visiting family in Daphne. While spending time with her, she mentioned wanting to get her fish tank set back up. I decided it would be the perfect Valentine's surprise to bring her aquarium back to life. I stopped into the Daphne location just to "look around," and that's when I was greeted by Heath -- "like the Heath bar," as he joked. From the moment I walked in, he was welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. He told me he owns four tanks himself and absolutely loves aquariums. And it showed. I have never owned a fish tank in my life. Heath patiently educated me on everything -- which fish were compatible, what setup would work best, what to avoid, and how to make sure my grandmother's tank would thrive. He even said, "I hope your grandmother likes my selection," which was such a thoughtful touch. After surprising my grandmother (she cried, by the way ), we realized her old tank equipment wasn't working -- the filter and light were both out, which probably explained why it hadn't been running. I initially tried going to a Petco location off I-10 in Mobile to grab what we needed, and unfortunately, it was a completely opposite experience. I waited nearly 20 minutes after asking twice for assistance. It was frustrating and disappointing. That's when I said, "You know what? Let me just call Heath." And I am SO glad I did. Even though the Daphne store was about 20 minutes away, it was 100% worth the drive -- and I would make that drive again and again. Heath immediately told me it would be smarter to purchase a full kit instead of piecing parts together because it would save money in the long run. When I arrived, not only did they have great sales (50% off some items and 20% off others), but Heath had everything already pulled and ready for me. A wonderful young lady greeted me when I came in (I hate that I can't remember her name, but she was fantastic). Heath came out from the back, smiling, and said, "I've got it ready for you." I remembered one more item I needed, and without hesitation, they helped me with that too. The entire team made me feel comfortable, supported, and confident in what I was purchasing. Today, my grandmother has a beautiful, fully functioning aquarium again -- and she is so happy. And I'm happy because I didn't have to overthink a single thing. That's what exceptional service does. Well done, Heath and the entire team at Pet Supermarket in Daphne. You didn't just sell fish -- you helped create a special memory for my grandmother and me. the staff is not informed on mice size at all, had no clue what a hopper was and just said "regular mouse" which was whatever not a huge issue as i was already in town and could go look, but once we got there i saw that around 15 fish were dead. extreme inadequate care and unqualified workers. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! read more

This is my favorite pet store. It is clean, staff helpful and rarely is out of something I need.

The customer service at this location is a joke. Unfortunately I already have to drive 50 minutes from Gulf Shores just to get to this store to buy live rats for my snake. And to make this worse is that they NEVER ANSWER THE FREAKING PHONE. So sometimes i have to dive out there for no reason because they don't always have rats and when i ask the employee about answering the phone they say their too busy. We've been here several times, and the customer service is very hit and miss. We went in today since the Jazz was in need of a new hoof and a we wanted to buy from a small, local business. We were pleasantly surprised by how friendly and helpful one of the employees was. We picked out a hoof and even a new winter coat since her old one is a little too small. The employee was very helpful and even checked the back for a large pink coat, but couldn't find one. She helped us try coats on her and pointed out that all the apparel was 50% off today. Yay! We looked around for a bit. They have a great selection of everything pet related, including food, toys, and specialty treats. The coat that was priced $19.99 rang up for $24.99, and half off, so $12.50. That was still a great deal! The $1.39 hoof rang up $1.49, which is only 10 cents difference, and that's what they charge at the big chain stores. The "ugly Christmas sweater" was $13.99 and did not ring up half off. I probably would've skipped that had I known it wasn't included in the "all apparel" that was half off. We'll probably still shop here when we can, but I am a little turned off by the items not being priced as marked. read more

Blah. One lady was rude and clearly didn't want to be bothered with me and my son who was very excited to get some fish for his new tank & she was a complete downer for him. Then she snapped at my husband to put his mask on, hers was down below her chin! Thankfully Joy turned the disappointment around and was very kind. Won't be going back to this location for sure and I feel sorry for someone who has to work with that woman on a daily basis. read more

Love this pet store. They even clip my Amazon parrots wings & nails for free. Very friendly, and knowledgeable about the animals they sale. The prices are very reasonable especially for not being a big box pet store. You see the same faces every time which is great. read more

This is my preference for pet shopping! The staff are friend and greet me when I walk in. I get emails when my dogs food is on sale (yes! They run sales!) and I get coupons in the mail! These things are a must when you have two large dogs who eat a lot of food! read more

So Ive gone to this place twice. Today reminded me why I go to Petsmart. They have employees that dont greet you..they just look at you as if saying "What do you want?" They were restocking the dry and canned dog food and the guy had the cart in the middle of the isle and saw me coming but did he move the cart for me to get by? No. Didnt even acknowledge me...I found that annoying. I was looking at all their dog food to read labels and make a wise investment for my pooches. But they had all their stock pulled out in the middle of the isles with zero way to get by. Really annoying. I understand you gotta restock stuff but really do you have to pull out EVERYTHING to restock..cant you do that little by little? There was a line of customers waiting for check out while one dude checked us all out and the other two employees watched and cut up at the other register....I had no idea what that was all about??? My last visit to Petsmart EVERY employee asked me "Is there anything I can help you with?" and another thing they were advertising one of their dog foods as $10 off for a certain amount of time. It wasnt labeled if the price I saw was already discounted or if the $10 came off at the register. Would be nice for that to be labeled so we dont have to ask..we can just read. *sigh* so disappointing...will never go back again.. Petsmart has my business all the way! read more

We bought a betta fish there for my 5 year old son as his first pet. I thought the selection was rather poor and limited and the fish weren't all that pretty. My son had his mind set so against my better judgement I let him get one. They were $5.50 each (and that was the cheaper of the two, I think the others were ~$6). We brought him home and just over a week later he is dead. I called the store and they said they only have a 72 hour policy on fish and would do nothing about it. I've had plenty of fish before (including saltwater) with no problems so I know it wasn't something we did. A couple days later I saw much prettier, healthier looking bettas at another store for $2.50! The fact that they would do nothing and that they sold a sick fish to us at a higher price means I won't be buying fish there again. I may buy dog food etc there but no live animals. read more
